“One of our favorites in Turkey!”
Reviewed 27 July 2009

Kelebek did everything to make us feel at home. The staff were all helpful and really made us feel comfortable at our first stop in Turkey. They arranged transport for us from Kayseri airport with no charge and the in-house travel agency set us up with great arrangements for tours in Cappadocia, a bus to our next stop and a gulet cruise.

We stayed in Room #5 in the fairy chimney and loved every minute! The bed was comfy and the linens were clean. They gave us free bottled water and had a nice complimentary breakfast (standard Turkish with omelettes, french toast, yogurt and dried fruits we didn't find other places). There was a beautiful rose garden and pool that were fantastic to relax at after a long day of hiking.

The cave room alone was worth staying at Kelebek, but our experience all around was a 10!

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of July and it was a truly unforgettable expericence. The staff, Hassan from the hotel and Ali from the on-site travel agency, were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Make sure to have Ali set you up for local tours, we had a guide named Mustafa who speaks perfect English, is very patient and KNOWS his history. I learned more in two days with him about the Christianity - Islamic religions than I ever learned in all my years of education.
The hotel is truly unique. We had room 109 a two floor, spacious suite. Our 13 year old son slept upstairs and us down. The food is wonderful, and best of all, they have a Turkish bath and spa ON-SITE! Nothing better than having someone to bathe and massage you after a long day sightseeing. Take a balloon ride at dawn, check out the many nearby sites, the history is amazing.
I wish we could go back tomorrow!

a wonderful hotel, beautiful-creative rooms, extremely hospitable and personal staff, attention to details, great location, excellent food and a spa to rival anywhere else in the world.

Their recommendations and assistance were unsurpassed. Don't miss spending time at Sultan Carpets for fair prices and a "no pressure" experience

My husband and just spent 4 nights at the Kelebek Hotel. It was the perfect end to a 4 week vacation. I loved everything about it including our cave suite, the delicious breakfast with made to order eggs and the best French toast ever, and magnificent views. Kelebek has many levels and nooks and crannies--each one a delight. The Turkish bath, included if you stay in a suite, was outstanding. I treated myself to a Turkish massage, and it far exceeded my expectations. It cost $70 for supposedly 70 minutes, but I think it was actually over 1 1/2 hours. It is an experience not to be missed. We arranged 2 tours and a balloon flight with the hotel, and they were all excellent. We were picked up promptly and traveled in a comfortable van. Both of our guides were excellent. We covered a lot of territory. Although we usually like to do things on our own when we travel,
I think this was the very best way to see the area at a fair price: 30 euros per person including 2 very good lunches. One note of warning: Each tour had a hike--one 4 miles and one 2 miles. They involve some areas where you need to have sure footing. My husband and I are in our mid 60's and have good mobility and did fine. They were spectacular hikes!!
Also, the hotel is on many levels with many flights of stairs and no elevator. I think all of the hotels in the area are like this. The entire area is not for someone in a wheel chair or with a walking handicap.
Otherwise, the hotel and the entire area is not to be missed!

One final note, the staff at the hotel are wonderful--friendly, helpful, will go out of their way to make you feel at home. I love this place!

Everything from our pre-arranged pick-up at Kayseri airport to the final day of our 5 night stay was excellent. There was a great choice of food for breakfast. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom quite spacious with a very good shower. The two tours that they organised for us were well worth it, particularly the History and Adventure tour. Levent was an excellent guide. Absolutely worth every euro. Free internet. Free ride to the bus station to end our wonderful stay!
