This hotel gets the most amazing views from both its rooms & its terraces. The staff are really helpful & can arrange all types of excursions. They have a range of room types but even the smaller ones are perfectly adequate.

We spent 4 nights in October 2009 in one of the Suites. Upon arrival the manager gave us a summary of the main attractions in and around Goreme which was a nice touch. The room was large and very comfortable. We ate breakfast daily from one of the 2 restaurants and were happy with the quality and variety on offer.

The only negatives for us was the noise of construction all day as the hotel was building new facilities. However, this cannot be helped really and should be completed soon.

Goreme was the perfect city to stay at to explore Cappadocia and Kelebek Hotel was the perfect hotel. Breakfast was always deliscious. The staff spoke good English and were able arrange all of our adventures (hot air balloon ride, hamman/massage, etc) and give us really good restaurant recommendations. The rooms were huge, and it just felt so fun to know you were staying inside a cave! (my pictures just don't do it justice).

Pros:
- A good place to splurge as the high-end rooms are super-nice and fancy.
- Breakfast is stellar with a lot more options than most places (dried fruit, French toast, in addition to standard yogurt, cheese, bread, etc)
- Stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
- Castle-like atmosphere with rock walls & stairways etc...

Cons:
- Not good for elderly people (you have to walk up lots of stairs and slopes etc) - though it's all the better for those who enjoy exercise in their daily routine ;-)
- Rooms vary a lot in what you get and how well it operates (amenities/bathrooms/etc) - inconsistent.
- Can be very expensive.
- They recommended a very bad motorbike rental place ("Backpacker's") so you might be wise to keep a little healthy skepticism about their recommendations for other businesses.

All-in-all:
- Great atmosphere and breakfast, great views. Would have given it 5 stars if it were not for the high price tag.

The Kelebek Hotel is awesome. Try to splurge on one of their pricey rooms if you can - it was well worth it. We stayed in the pension the first two nights as they were totally booked and we could not upgrade. The room was in a cave and very nice. The last night we upgraded to a suite with a fireplace in the hotel - so amazing. It was th best night of our trip. The staff could not be more accomodating and the hiking and adventure excursion was a blast. The breakfast is bountiful and even if you don't take a hot air balloon ride, they come right over the Kelebek so you get a great appreciation for 60 balloons in the sky at once. Loved this hotel.

This is by far one of the most unique and welcoming hotels I have ever stayed in. It was my first trip to Cappadocia and I could not have picked more fitting accomodation. The junior suite was all that was available by the time I booked, but the value after accounting for cash/single discounts was incredible -- private breakfast in the rose garden (no buffet here, they serve you traditional breakfast & even eggs), complimentary tea, bath tub, huge comfortable room/bed, and access to the hamman. The staff were the epitomy of Turkish charm, very kind and eager to ensure you were enjoying your stay, also the house dog & cat/kittens really added to the homey ambience. And the view over Goerme was absolutely breathtaking. One note regarding the pool, it is rather small and can get very crowded as it's shared with the sister property just behind so get there early if that is high on your agenda. All the major destinations - the open air museum, bars/restaurants of the village center, etc. - are in easy walking distance (although for people with health issues should take note that a rather steep climb is required to get back to the hotel) and reception can organize some really great day tours. I highly reccommend the History & Adventure tour and you MUST, must, must take a sunrise hot air balloon ride...one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I was very sorry to say good-bye to Kelebek but I do hope that one day I will return again!

Our party of four retired women stayed in rooms 101 and 109. Extra beds were added for us to make the room "twins".
We loved our stay in this awesome setting among the caves. There is a garden with comfortable chairs and even a hammock. The parking is free but not really ample, and I could see that during high season, it could be a problem. Breakfast was wonderful as is the Turkish custom, and our breakfast terrace was a smaller one in the back but, had all the lovely views as the terrace in front.
We took advantage of the hamam services and as it was my first experience of a Turkish Bath, I cannot compare it to others, however, it was the best spa experience I have ever had and would do it again if ever I have the chance!
We also hired a private guide through the hotel, Selim Ayas, and we recommend him highly! Selim took us to the most important sights and also to his home to meet his wife, Elmas, a brother and Selim's two small sons. Elmas served us tea and a special honey-like dish called "pekmez" and also a foamy dish made from the pekmez. Pekmez is boiled down grape juice prepared much the same way as maple syrup is prepared in America. It was delicious with the fresh bread and tea served graciously by Elmas. We toured their gardens and learned much about the culture of Antolia from Selim. The entire time spent with Selim was special to all of us.
We also took the 1 hour balloon ride arranged through Kelebek. Fabulous! Just do it!
As far as the Kelebek's location, it was perfect with terraces overlooking the charmed village of Goreme, but....we were a party of 4 retired women and while we are not disabled, our legs tired of the many steps required to just get to the restaurant or other rooms. This is a cave hotel after all and one can expect it to be high and hilly..it is, so be warned, there are lots of steps involved.
Having said this, I can recommend this hotel but not without qualms. It is situated in a perfect location and does provide great services to the tourist. The only thing I would add is that the food was not the food one would expect from a hotel of this quality and the staff should address this critique of our dining experience. Yes, we could have gone down to the village each night, but the walk is filled with uneven steps and a tiring walk back up the hill so, we opted for hotel dining the 2 nights we were there and were disappointed each night.
