Owner description: One of the top attractions in the region, this outdoor museum contains the remains of many churches carved into the famous Cappadocia stone. Of note are the many excellent frescoes that can be seen when exploring the various structures.

behind the entrance you will visit some caves. some caves have wallpaintings .
some caves are sober .for 1 cave/museum you must pay another entrance.
normaly it is hard to go into a cave somewhere else,so than this visit will be an opportunity.
outside the project, downhill you will see another cave not far below at the right side which I found the most interesting part. keep you entrancebillet ready because you also need that there as well!

“A must see”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

Lovely caves in a very tranquil spot. Has far less tourist than the Goreme equivalent, or it certainly did when we visited in the morning.

A tour guide is a bonus, or you would just wander around without having a clue what everything is about as very few signs exist (that is the only reason I did not give 5 stars).

“It's why you are here in Cappadocia--so worth the visit”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

You'll see lots of different rock formations and this is one that needs to be seen. They say things are churches, but some are burial grounds--you can easily tell the difference after awhile between churches and burial grounds--if it is small with lots of graves, then it's a burial ground.

“Family holiday”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Give time to take in the beautiful simplicity of hand crafted caves and their decaying decorations if you can beat the tour buses by getting there early or late and dodge the large queues and crowded spaces.
