“GREAT customer service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2013

For some reason, tour companies in Goreme (and probably Cappadocia at large) have organized their sight seeing into three different tours. I think they are called the RED, GREEN and BLUE tours. All the companies we talked to offered almost the exact same options.

But my boyfriend and I were really tired from traveling and I JUST wanted to see the underground city. I know the rest of the sites on the tour would have been worth it, but we were just too tired to commit to an entire day. So we asked around to see if we could just do the underground city. Most tour companies told us we either couldn't do it- OR they offered to do a 'private' tour for a buttload of money.

At Vulcanus, they were creative enough to come up with a solution for us. They let us ride with the outgoing tour group to get to the underground city, and once that part of the tour was over, somebody picked us up and took us back to the hotel. Perfect!

I was happy to find a tour company who was willing to work with us and was flexible! On top of which, the tour of the underground city was awesome!!

“Cappadocia Daily Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2012

We didnot know this travel agency before we checked in at the Spelunca Hotel, and we booked two daily tours from there, Cappadocia Ihlara Tour, a.k.a Green Tour, and Cappadocia Fairy Chimneys Tour, a.k.a Red Tour.

The distances between scenic spots are way beyond walking or cycling range, and surely it sounds somewhat ridiculous to expect developed bus or tube transportion systems over Cappadocia, which makes the designed daily tours fairly ideal options for travelers on tight schedules, as they do save a lot of time and energy. Normally a daily tour starts at 9:30 am and takes no more than 8hrs for the whole journey, making it a perfectly efficient choice for those with very limited time for sight seeing to visit all the Lonely Planet recommended spots.

There is no need to worry about sitting in an overload cab driven by a lunatic driver, like those green or yellow colored public transportation vehicles in India and cambodia, the cab is air conditioned with seats comfortable and spacious enough for taking a nap; also no worry about being led by a tour guide talking nothing but purely made up crap in funny accent, the guide called Recep is a very good looking easy going guy, speaking fantastic English and fond of posing in front of camera. Recep knows the story or history of each spot very well, what he told us did conform with what wiki says, which i confirmed after the trip btw, and he's also got the sense of humor to amuse gossipy female tourists.

There are a variety of lunch options, including vegetarian option. For Green Tour, it was formal three course lunch including salad, soup and main course served in the Ihlara valley along Melendiz River; and for Red Tour, it was a pretty nice lunch buffet.

Perhaps dropping in souvenir stores is complusary for all package tours, but unlike those shopping tours specially designed for Chinese obasan and otousan tourists, the shopping part only took less than 10% of the whole journey; and the tour guide, Recep, was nice and warm as he always was to window shoppers.

It would be better if the travel agency could help mail postcards.
