“Wonderful walk to Uchisar fortress”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

This was one of the highlights of our walks around Goreme. Pigeon Valley is really beutiful and most peaceful, especially considering the time of our walk co-incided with a turkish public holiday. Fortunately for us, most of the the Turks do not seem to walk through their own countryside. The excellent walk finished at the town of Uchisar and we were able to climb to the top of the natural fortress overlooking the vast plains and mountains of the area, with 360deg views. I would recommend to anyone - its not a long walk and if you feel the need a taxi ride back to Goreme costs around 20TL.

“Don't Bother”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

When I got my itinerary from my tour company, Pigeon Valley looked liked a major site--complete with vineyards and wineries. But what you get to see are...some pigeons. Actually, I see more pigeons every day in Chicago than I did in Pigeon Valley. The nearby souvenir shops were more interesting. Yes, you get to see the pigeon homes across the way in the side of the hill but by the time we got here, I had seen lots of similar sites. Just skip this. Spend some time hiking instead in the Rose Valley or go into Goreme and look around. Much more worth it.

“Disapointing Pigeon valley”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Went in late afternoon for a stroll before dinner but was attacked by too many insects to make it pleasant to walk - probably because there was lots of stagnant water after the first tunnel so we never got to the pigeon coops. But some of the fairy chimneys only a few minutes from Goreme are amazing shapes - I wonder at each of them
