“Great visit!”
Reviewed 4 April 2013

"Agzikara Hani" caravansary was built in the roadside of the "silk road" in the 13th century to provide food, water and rest to all the travelers covering this route and therefore supporting the commerce.
We went with our tour guide and it was great...she explained all the interesting facts: living space as kitchen, rooms, bathrooms, annex building for praying...
First time for us visiting a building of this kind, and we just loved it, plus it is really well preserved.

“One of the best preserved Caravanserais”
Reviewed 26 November 2012

This "castle" type building was built during the 13th century as a resting place for the merchants travelling the Silk Road. The entrance is ornate and leads into a courtyard surrounded by rooms which were used as kitchens, washrooms, bedrooms and for storage of the goods that were being traded.

In the middle of the courtyard there is a square building which is used for praying. If you have a head for heights climb up the steep, narrow steps to obtain magnificent views over the caravanserai and surrounding countryside.

Well worth visiting this wonderful example.
