“Great stay, very relaxed hostel”
Reviewed 13 September 2011

We arrived around 8am (from the night bus), but were able to check straight in to the dorm room and crash out for a few hours. We spent quite a bit of time chilling out in the reception area, watching TV and using the internet. The owner is great, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is one of the best I've had for a while - lots of choice. Would definitely recommend!

We arrived from an overnight bus. The Nomad came to pick us up at the bus station in less than five minutes. Our room was not ready yet, so they offered us breakfast, which we technically should not have had, since we hadn't checked in yet. They also offered us a different room to shower and sleep in until ours was ready.

The room was nice, but it was a cave (damp and cool). The door to the bathroom needed to be fixed and the cave lacked any decoration, but it was a simple, functional room. It was clean, had nice hardwood floors and a comfortable bed.

The location was central, and you could easily get anywhere in town within 5 minutes.

Overall, this place was a pleasure to stay in. The hospitality we received was as good as any 4 star hotel we've stayed in, if not better. They arranged all of our tours (and were able to get us a small discount on one of them), booked our bus out to Istanbul, and invited us for a BBQ dinner with the staff one night. Our bus didn't leave until the evening, but they stored our baggage, offered us the use of the their public showers and hang-out area, drove us up to see the sunset on the hill overlooking town, and gave us a ride to the station when we were finally ready to depart.

Thank you, Nomad for making our trip to Goreme so enjoyable!!

The owner, Apo, his wife and his brother in law, Gihan are amazingly helpful and sweet....!!! You really should try to stay here. The dorm is only 7 euro per night.

- Really nice owner: He arranged a free pick-up service from the bus station in Göreme and even offered us to drive us to Cavusin late in the evening (but then his car didn't work).
- Breakfast (included) is awesome and quite Turkish
- We used the dormitory, which was clean and had comfortable beds. Towel, soap, toiletpaper and linen included. Only one wall socket was avaible, this is the only disadvantage. Toilets and everything were clean.
- Hostel is in walking distance from the center of Göreme, which is not a very large village at all.
- Internet is free of charge (wireless and one desktop computer)
- Nice seating spots in the common room. You are allowed to bring your own food and get the tea and other hot beverages for free.
- Lugagge can be stored after check-out in the morning for free.

When I first arrived I was looking for a cheap and comfortable location to explore Cappadocia. I found so much more here. First and foremost, the staff did everything and anything to make sure I had everything I needed and felt at home. This hospitality extended beyond myself, and to every single customer staying at the hostel. The location puts you in the center of everything, without any noise at night. Free wifi, and a computer in a cozy common room providing delicious breakfast and free coffee and teas. The staff has a lot of information about local tours and, unlike other hostels, will do their best to find you the best prices available. They have just rennovated all of the rooms with new hard wood floors and brand new beds and matresses, so you're guaranteed to sleep comfortably at night. Comfortably in a cave!
I planned on staying at Nomad Cave Hostel for 3 days, and ended up staying 4 weeks. Be careful, or you might do the same.

We bought a package for a tour around Istanbul, it included th Nomad Cave hote, we liked it, as its a different experience, of course it was cold and it was almost a real cave! we felt as if we were living in Flintstone :) everything depends on the angle from which u see it, the service wasnt the one of a 5 stars hotel ( OBVIOUSLY ) but it was ok, all our needs were well satisfied , we had free internet at the reception, basic breakfast but you could chat with other traveles while having a nice view.
It was cold, yes, but we had enough blankets to asure a nice sleep. The location was ok, next to the bus stop, we walked a few steps where we could buy some souvenirs and ahhh taste the delicious chai or turkish tea, courtesy of turkish people.

My girl and I went on a trip to Goreme in the stunning region of Cappadocia (Anatolia, Turkey). We arrived at Nomad Cave Hotel and had to face a minor problem straight away. Apparently, the website we booked our stay at had not sent the confirmation to Nomad Cave Hotel, therefore we couldn't stay for three days as intended. However, our landlord ("Apo") was extremely helpful! He accomodated us for one night and then arranged a stay for two more nights in another Cave Hotel in the same town and even managed to organize a decent price despite the Turkish holidays at that time which had boosted prices. Our room in the Nomad Cave (like all other rooms) had been built right in the stone of the fantastic hills of this region (as the name of the hotel indicates). It wasn't a real cave, though, but a proper room with a small bathroom (wc/shower) attached and proper beds, cosy and clean with traditional tapestries on the stone walls. The decent Turkish breakfast was served in the winter garden-like common room (with free Internet access) which provided a great view over Göreme. Although we could only stay for one night we enjoyed our stay there so much, it was a pity to have to leave. Our thanks go out to the landlord Apo and his crew who were not only helpful but also very friendly, open-minded and wiling to make our stay as pleasant as possible! I'd like to put special emphasis on this because he has been the landlord for only two months and his predecessor apparently didn't get many good reviews (and rightly so, as far as I heard).

All in all, this was a memorable stay in an original and beautiful little hotel, and we will certainly come back!
