Stayed at this pension for 5 nights. As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed by the friendly staff. The bathroom and rooms are cleaned daily, breakfast is fine, beds comfy. The pool is great after a days hiking in the sun. There is a table tennis table and heaps of chilled out relaxing areas. Only down side is wifi was a little temperamental. But I would highly recommend staying here!

Rock Valley was a great place to stay while in Goreme. Ahmet was really helpful before our stay via email correspondence then on arrival made everything easy. Including help booking balloon tours, the turkish baths and could answer any other questions we had. Was a nice neat and tidy hostel too with a very safe feeling to it.

Great pool and chill out areas out side, just watch out for the bees!

We had 2 rooms next to each other, no aircon but in Cappadocia you don't need it because the night temperature in summer drops to a comfotable level for sleeping.
The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the shower and lavatory were good although there was not enough hot water first thing in the morning, and the instruction not to put used lavatory paper down the toilet but instead into a bin was disgusting and we ignored it and nothing got blocked.
I'd have preferred a buffet breakfast where we chose from options laid out but instead you have to choose set options listed on a board; this leads to waste as you have to leave the bits you don't want, so when we chose the Turkish breakfast I left the black olives and the horrible salty Turkish cheese; while two others in our family left other bits. There is inadequate butter and preserves for the bread provided; BUT I'd still go back there.
It's annoying that you can't pay to use the washing machines yourself - you have to hand in.your washing and they do it and hang if out to dry, however the price of 20TL per load is reasonable. The place would benefit from.a small kitchen area where you could prepare basic food - maybe a few pans, a sink and a couple of hobs - but presumably they feel this would take business away from their restaurant offerings in the pleasant bar area. Their drinks etc. are reasonably priced, and there is plenty of space indoors and out for lounging around in comfort.
The staff are exceptionally helpful and pleasant BUT sorry to mention this but some of them seem not to have heard of deodorant and if you encounter the wrong person in the enclosed office area it honks!
Their suggestions for activities are generally good - eg. their reduced-price voucher for the local hamman BUT avoid the Turkish dance dinner night in Avanos - the food is basic but ok and the free alcohol helps even though Turkish wine is generally vile, however the problem is the atrocious dancing. It's as if they've dragged failed Turkish X-factor fuls off the nearby housing estate. It is excruciatingly bad however drunk you get. The one exception is the belly-dancer who is sheer class.
Despite all this I warmly recommend the pension. Steve Riches, Northampton. UK.

Private room was awesome and reasonably priced and had air conditioning (although the wifi didn't reach past the doorway because of the cave walls). Reception and cook/bar runner were super nice and went out of their way to help us. Lots of places to hang out/check the internet solo or with company. You can also leave your bags there and hang out after check out if you have a late plane/bus to catch. We highly recommend the Green Tour! You can also book the Red Tour, hot air balloon ride, Dervish show or the super touristy 'Turkish Night'. Goreme is a small town, easy to get everywhere. 5 stars all the way across!

Just got back from a short trip to Cappadocia where I stayed at the Rock Valley Pension with some friends. The hostel is clean and has a nice homey feel to it, very charming. Lots of other young travellers staying there. The room was nice, comfortable beds with cute patterned bedspreads and the ensuite bathrooms are very clean, modern and nice. There is a good menu selection for breakfast (including options for those who tire of traditional Turkish breakfast) and the pool outside is nice as well.

My one complaint: lack of hot water in the early morning. Only after taking a (very!) cold shower did I notice a sign advising guests to ask the management for hot water if needed. Oops!

The best thing about staying at the Rock Valley Pension is that they go above and beyond for their guests. We had some issues with reserving our rooms in advance (not responding quickly enough to emails, so the dormitories were full), so we received a discounted rate for our rooms. Today, my friends and I missed our shuttle to the airport and the hotel management managed to get us a van to Kayseri for much, much less than the cost of a taxi (our only other option). This was SO appreciated and really helped us out.

Cappadocia is beautiful and travellers will probably want to be out and about for most of their time here, but the Rock Valley Pension is a great place to come back to and crash at the end of a long day of hiking.

Great value, nice pool, good view in outdoor terrace, close to shops and restaurants, very helpful staff at reception. Stayed in a dorm with 5 beds and ensuite. Nice breakfast included. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere.

We stayed here for 2 nights, it is possible for an extension paying for half a day extra which we did. The rooms are clean, fairly spacious, functional with attached bath/toilet. The breakfast is adequate too, but try to eat indoors as we did try eating outdoors facing the pool, but some bees got attracted to us so we fled indoors. There is the evil eye restaurant in town which does serve excellent Korean food, spicy the way we like it. The person who generally mans the counter at the reception is very helpful and works several hours a day so it seems to me. What did not appeal to us was the Turkish night function we attended which was arranged by the hotel wherein the performance was not on par with our expectations, barring the belly dance which was good. Neither was the food as good as we expected it to be considering what we paid. I guess this comparison would not come if we had not been to a similar much upgraded one in Egypt for a lesser price, but these things do happen.

Room Tip: we had the room right at the ground floor, cut off from the rest of the floors and we did like it a...
