My friends and I chose to stay at Kismet Cave House since it had been rated well by other travellers in Tripadvisor, but were utterly disappointed by the service we'd had! Faruk snapped at us upon arrival, (possibly half-intoxicated), and for about half an hour he was berating us for some stuff that we had absolutely no clue about. Ok, so in the spirit of Turkish hospitality, he treated us to some tea and coffee to make up for his crazy ourbursts, but that did not make up for the expletives he hurled at us, which we did not appreciate at all. The whole thing was weird and uncalled for. Things went alright for the first day thereafter, but on the second day, when Faruk found out that we had booked a few tours with a "very bad" tour company (in Goreme, all competing tour companies are "very bad"), he literally told us to [--] off. How rude is that?!? We were on a holiday!!! It was not a great experience AT ALL. We had to search for another place to stay on short notice, which was really quite a bummer. It turned out though that there were many nice options for accommodation in the area - with the same amount of money, you could get a really nice room with a great view on top of a little hill, for instance! Our advice is to shop around a little. The smaller, lesser known establishments would be quite worthwhile. :) And much as Faruk was quite the dud, we have had many great experiences with other locals who have made our stay really worthwhile. Turkish people are, in general, very warm and hospitable! Cappadocia is an amazing place... just don't stay at Kismet Cave!

We are disappointed with this review and the previous one from their traveling companion. We do our best to serve our guests and treat them like family. Lonely Planet Guide to Turkey in the Cappadocia section warns travellers to beware of the Rocktown Travel Agency. All competing tour agencies in Goreme are not bad, but those who prey on unsuspecting tourists at the Nevsehir bus station are. I refuse to work with them. When these guests arrived having ignored the warnings, I knew it would end badly. I am sad that my explanations were misunderstood and described as "berating' and using curse words. Please read the many other reviews that give a truer picture of the experience one has at Kismet Cave House.

We have just returned from 6 nights at Kismet Cave House having had a wonderful time. Well located, great breakfast, quiet, clean and very comfortable. Faruk takes great pride in his business and goes out of his way to be helpful adding a slice of good humour to the process. On two occasions Faruk arranged a vehicle and driver for the day. The days were full and we had great times. We can definitely recommend Ihlara Valley and Soganli. In Goreme we had a lovely walk in Rose Valley. Uchisar Castle is great for sunset views. Safran restaurant (run by a lovely family) in Goreme was very good, try the aubergine salad and the meat in a clay pot.

Room Tip: We had the Orchid Room on the ground floor which was fine for us.

Every morning I woke up to homemade yogurt from their cow, fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms, eggs cooked anyway and fresh pan fried lavash bread and local cheese. I loved it. By the way if you were not impressed, the served fresh honeycomb honey.

Faruk made my wife and I feel like family. I recommend signing up with a personal tour with him. He knows the lay of the land since his family has been in Goreme for generations.

On our day with him, we went to a hike to Hacli Church, a family farm, and fairy chimneys of Capadoccia. We also had lunch at this wonderful restaurant, Dayinin Yeri in Avanos which serves a great kabobs, pides and kunefe, a desert made of cheese, angel’s hair pasta and honey.

I hope to go back to Kismet Cave House soon.

A girlfriend and I recently travelled to Cappadocia and from the minute we started booking our accommodation at the Kismet Cave House we were impressed by the helpfulness and assistance of the owner, Faruk Keles. We weren’t disappointed when we arrived at the hotel, after our complementary transfer from the airport. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated, just like the pictures on the website. We were in the Jasmin Room near reception but didn’t find it noisy at all. Once we’d settled in Faruk took us through all the options of what to do in the area, booked our balloon flight, told us where to eat, took my friend horseriding, booked our car hire, dropped us off at the Open Air Museum and generally looked after us, as he does all his guests. There doesn’t seem to be anyone in town that Faruk doesn’t know! The breakfasts at the hotel were wonderful, the best homemade gozleme we’ve tasted and the French toast was pretty good too. The staff were very accommodating and nothing was a problem at all during our stay. I’d thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling through the area, the hospitality was the best we’ve ever come across in our many travels. We’ll definitely return to Cappadocia in the future and stay at the Kismet Cave Hotel again, without a doubt.

Well we wanted to make the most of our 3 day family break to Cappadocia and thanks to Faruk Bey, we had an absolutely fab time. The hotel is charming, our room 103 the Lilac Suite was perfect - a large room with twin beds for our two lively 9 and 10 year olds, a further separate room with very comfortable queen size bed for us and a large bathroom with jacuzzi bath which was great after a long day sightseeing.
Breakfast was typically Turkish in style and plentiful. We sat out on the terrace, took in the views and breathed in the wonderful fresh air before setting out on the adventures for the day.
Faruk Bey arranged our balloon trip and also acted as our guide for 2 days, showing us all the area has to offer - which is so much more than you can imagine. We could not have asked for or received a better service.
I was so pleased that we took the time to read the reviews about where to stay in Goreme before deciding upon Kismet - at the end of the day there may be plenty of quality hotels to choose from but what makes the holiday, as far as we are concerned, is the level of care, courtesy and consideration shown whilst there.
If you want to experience the real Cappadocia, dont miss out on the Kismet!

Great Hotel! The owner Faruk was amazing, so helpful and genuinely nice.
The rooms are spacious and very clean and decorated perfectly, the hotel is an actual cave. Very cool as well which was ideal as it was extremely hot when we were in Goreme.
The breakfasts on the terrace are lovely, all produce either straight from the garden of a neighboring farm or fresh from the owners cow!
Highly recommend this hotel, it was our favorite on our Turkey travels.

As all the other reviews have stated, the place is immaculate, but only is made better by the charming owner, Faruk. He took us on a number of fun trips, but even took us out to enjoy some mountain top views until 1 AM!! We stayed about three days, and found it hard to leave. The rooms are beautifully decorated and stocked with excellent toiletries. The entire staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Faruk and his staff prepared AMAZING breakfasts and brunches with ingredients from his farm, including fresh milk from his cow. Overall, the food, people, location, and price are hard to beat, and well worth the trip to Goreme. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Next time we go back, we will definitely be staying here!
