“Amazing landscapes and wonderful hospitality.”
Reviewed 20 April 2009

WE stayed a week at this wonderful place, which is apparently unusual but from our point of view this gave us time to really relax and enjoy Cappadocia. Farouk was a great host who welcomed us with his warmth and generous hospitality. We stayed in the lilac suite with our 2 children and we were very cosy and comfortable. The hotel is really well located, just on the edge of the main centre with easy access to great restaurants and shops. It is quiet and tastefully decorated and furnished in traditional style. Farouk took the time to get to know us and was very adept at knowing what we were looking for in our family holiday. The walks and landscapes, caves, underground cities and historical sites were breath-taking. We wanted to explore the region, do some gentle hiking and photography, go ballooning, do some Turkish cooking and to learn about and have the chance to experience some of the local rural lifestyle. Farouk made all of this happen in an unobtrusive way and we have all had a most memorable and amazing holiday.
Best wishes from Lisa Richard Elsa & Will.

Kismet Cave House proved to be the perfect choice for my 3 night stay in Goreme. The rooms are gorgeous, with hand painted furniture and wall designs. The beds were very comfortable with beautifully embroidered covers. The brown stone bathrooms were spotless, with large showers (hard to come by in Europe!) and some rooms with jacuzzi tubs, great after a long day sightseeing. It was one of those places where you don't mind spending a couple hours in the room soaking up the atmosphere. Breakfast was yummy, especially the white cheese made from the owner's cow. Especially though, the owner Faruk makes one feel very welcome and is extremely knowledgeable about the area. As a solo traveler who had no plans when I got to the hotel, he helped set up a one day tour for me, as well as set up my hot air balloon ride with a reputable company. I would 100% stay at Kismet again, no doubt.

The Kismet Cave House is a very nice place to stay with a great location. The cave rooms are great with nice bathrooms. Some rooms even have a fireplace which was really nice. The location is within walking distance to a number of restaurants which was really nice. The owner Faruk was awesome. He picked us up at the airport and dropped us off as well. He really goes out of his way to help you out from booking a tour, etc. I would highly recommend staying at the Kismet Cave House if you are visiting the area.

Our family of five (kids 8,8 and 11) booked the Lilac Suite for four nights and had a wonderful stay. The Kismet is a nice comfortable place, but it is really a family run B&B so don't expect a boutique hotel experience. What makes its special is Faruk and his family. They really made our stay in Goreme memorable. We've been to Turkey several times and have found the people to be some of the best you can meet anywhere. Faruk helped us set up a day trip to the Allora Valley which was one of the highlights of our trip. Truly spactacular. He also fetched us from the Nevsihir airport and at the end of several long wonderful apricot laced day hikes around magical Goreme. Most memorable was the late afternoon chai discussing geo-politics with Faruk. Overall, a very rewarding travel experience. We hope to return soon.

The property is located just on the edge of the tourist area in Goreme, and is away from all the noise of the centre. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with clean sheets and a spotless bathroom.

What made the stay really special was Farouk's warmth and his genuine wish to help his guests. He arranged a car for a tour around the Goreme, and, on his own, arranged for other guests at the hotel to join us thus reducing our bill. He personally drove us to the end of Zemi valley, helped us down the steep hill, and made sure we were safely down before leaving.

Due to a slight geographical misunderstanding on our part, we had booked our air tickets to Istanbul from Kayseri (100km) rather than Nevsehir(10 km). Farouk arranged for a car to pick us up at 3AM to get us to the airport well in time for our flight.

The highlight of our stay though was when one of us expressed interest in how the local breads were made. He took us to his home to see his wife and neighbours communally make bread for the winter.

We would both go back to Kismet Cave Hotel without hesitation, and we would recommend it to any of our friends.

Faruk is the owner and a great host. As soon as we arrived, he was waiting to take our bags and give us apple tea. He walked us around town and helped us order at local restaurants. He served us a wonderful breakfast each morning. He was happy to answer any questions we had. The room we stayed in was very clean and cozy. I highly recommend it.

Our stay at Kismet Cave House was great. The owner of the hotel did his best to make us feel at home and to give us all the help we needed.

The room was carved out of one of the chimneys in Goreme and was very comfortable. The entire establishment was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience the wonderful Turkish hospitality of the area.
