This was a suprise birthday present so I did not know where I was going. My son had organised everything. When we arrived at the Kismet Cave hotel we were met by Faruk.
Even though it was late in the evening he cooked us a meal, went down town for us some beer, then spent the rest of the evening telling us all about Goreme.

I have since read most of the Trip Advisor reports on the Kismet Cave hotel and without repeating myself, I can confirm they are correct and true. There are one or two negative ones which I woud disagree with. Faruk organised us a ballon ride. My son informs me that the price Faruk got was less than any he had seen on the internet. He also hired us a car at a very reasonable price. He even arranged for the car hire firm to drop us off at the air port before taking the car back.

Faruk is genuine and honest, he is a great guy who will help you as much as he can.
We spent many memorable hours togather which I will never forget.

If you are thinking of going to Cappadocia, go now as when the word gets around this hotel will be fully booked year in year out

We are just returning from a 5 night stay at the Kismet. We were charmed by the hotel and the owner, Faruk. Faruk did everything that an owner should do to make his guests feel comfortable and pleased. As an example, Faruk picked us up at the airport instead of Neveshir as had been planned. He didn't have to drive the extra 20 minutes to the airport but did so as a courtesy. We rode in his van, which has been snobbishly described as "rickety" and found it to be comfortable. He took us, at no charge to the entrance to the "Love Valley" so we could hike from one end to the other, and was waiting for us when we got to the top--no charge.

Faruk was always around with hot tea or Turkish coffee whenever we wanted it. He gave us very personal attention to decide on tours and sightseeing. We never felt pressured or steered into one package or another.

if you are expecting a 5 star hotel you will be disappointed. But, the rooms are nice and comfortable, hot water is always available, the Wifi works well, and the atmosphere is that of a personal residence. we would delighted to return to visit Faruk and his hotel at some time in the future.

We stayed in the Kismet Cave hotel in a group of 4 people and all of us enjoyed it VERY much! First of all when we arrived to the airport it was cold, dark and wet, the owner of the hotel met us at the exit and from this moment we became happy! He is very hospitable person, always smiling, always help and he speaks english very fluent. He has a beautiful car, very fashionable! I stayed in a very comfortable honeymoon suite with jacuzzi and fireplace. All romes have wi-fi internet and cable tv.

I would recommend this hotel to my friends!

Kismet Cave Hotel is in a good location and is within a 3 minute walk to the center of town near the bus station. Faruk is the owner of the hotel and he is a very amiable fellow. He will greet you with a bottle of local Capadocchian vintage (strictly average) and will take you on a tour of the Rose Valley near his grape vineyard. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. We stayed on the second floor in the larger room. It had a fireplace, satellite TV and a jacuzzi style tub/shower. The hot water heater is solar powered so it is best to take a shower in the late afternoon/early evening after the sun has been out for a while. Water pressure is excellent. The number of watchable TV channels is limited unless you speak Turkish. Breakfast is standard fare- pide, some hard boiled eggs, slices of fruit and tomatoes, instant coffee and local preserves. You can get a more substantial meal in town.

Faruk will try hard to book your tours, balloon rides, and shuttles to the airport himself. As such he would collect any commission but it pays to go in town and shop around with the various tour agencies. We used a tour office right next to the Hamam. It is run by a father/son and they were very helpful and honest. They asked for a reasonable price and were open to negotiations. We booked our tour with them and it was excellent. We shared the tour with another couple. Transportation and lunch were included. Our tour guide was tremendously helpful and very friendly. Booking your excursions via the outside tour office will be significantly cheaper than going through Faruk. Faruk will be persistent but if you politely decline he will accept your decision. Don't take his salesmanship too personally- he is only trying to make a living.

The balloon ride is definitely worth it- we used the Urgupe Balloon company and they were thoroughly professional and safe.

In town, the restaurants worth going to are Araturk and Dibek. There are other smaller restaurants but the food can be a little uneven.

Shuttles to Nevshehir Airport are economical and they will pick you up at the hotel in a clean minivan. Fares are about 20 YTL per person. Faruk will offer to drive you for the same price but his rickety truck looks unreliable on a highway.

All in all our stay at Kismet was very good but keep your eyes and ears open.

WE stayed a week at this wonderful place, which is apparently unusual but from our point of view this gave us time to really relax and enjoy Cappadocia. Farouk was a great host who welcomed us with his warmth and generous hospitality. We stayed in the lilac suite with our 2 children and we were very cosy and comfortable. The hotel is really well located, just on the edge of the main centre with easy access to great restaurants and shops. It is quiet and tastefully decorated and furnished in traditional style. Farouk took the time to get to know us and was very adept at knowing what we were looking for in our family holiday. The walks and landscapes, caves, underground cities and historical sites were breath-taking. We wanted to explore the region, do some gentle hiking and photography, go ballooning, do some Turkish cooking and to learn about and have the chance to experience some of the local rural lifestyle. Farouk made all of this happen in an unobtrusive way and we have all had a most memorable and amazing holiday.
Best wishes from Lisa Richard Elsa & Will.

Kismet Cave House proved to be the perfect choice for my 3 night stay in Goreme. The rooms are gorgeous, with hand painted furniture and wall designs. The beds were very comfortable with beautifully embroidered covers. The brown stone bathrooms were spotless, with large showers (hard to come by in Europe!) and some rooms with jacuzzi tubs, great after a long day sightseeing. It was one of those places where you don't mind spending a couple hours in the room soaking up the atmosphere. Breakfast was yummy, especially the white cheese made from the owner's cow. Especially though, the owner Faruk makes one feel very welcome and is extremely knowledgeable about the area. As a solo traveler who had no plans when I got to the hotel, he helped set up a one day tour for me, as well as set up my hot air balloon ride with a reputable company. I would 100% stay at Kismet again, no doubt.
