We treasure our memories and photo of the hot air balloons over the Kismet Cave Hotel. Mr Faruk Keles called us personally in the US, arranged reliable transportation from the Kayseri airport, found us a great balloon ride, and was just generally a delightful person to talk to. We had the Tulip room.

Location: right in the middle of Goreme, excellent.

Rooms: we stayed in a deluxe room, it had a jacuzzi which we used and was excellent. the bed was very comfortable. the room was clean.

Service: Faruk the owner is absolutely brilliant and genuinely super friendly. he treats his guests very very well. we were trying to find a car rental and spent 30min searching online and making skype calls. after we figured out what was the best price we could get on our own, Faruk spent 15min calling his contacts to see if he could beat the price. Faruk was also very helpful in giving us info on what we could do in cappadocia and helping us organise those activities. we went ballooning and on a full day excursion, which Faruk organised. very helpful and no pressure whatsoever.

Food: breakfast is included, it was very good. we could have as much as we want, and it included home made jams, pastes and chillis which were delicious.

We would note that although Kismet does deserve its high rating, there are certainly other cheaper options. 50 euro per night at low season seemed a little high to us.

I had always wanted to stay in a Cave Hotel but did not expect it to be so lovely! Recommended to us by a friend in Istanbul, Kismet was far above our expectations. The bed was so fresh and clean it was like no one else had ever slept in it. The towels were lovely. I wish I knew how they washed them because they were beautiful! Faruk went out of his way to make sure we got to do what we wanted to do which was some things on the tourist agenda and some that were off the tourist path. Faruk made it possible. We consider Faruk to be a friend even though we just met. Maybe it's Kismet?
We would go back in a heartbeat.

We arrived around lunch time and had Mustafa as a driver for the remainder of the day. As mentioned previously he is a really genuine local man, and took us to a fanstastic restaurant for lunch, one of the best we had in the whole trip, as well as a lot of the import sights that we would not be covering the next day as we were going on an organised tour.
Faruk was fantastic, helping us with whatever we needed - although compared to some other guests that seemed to be testing Faruk with their requests, we must have seemed quite laid back. Our room was nice and warm and have everything that we expected.
For us, the hospitality is the biggest asset of this Cave House. Not to mention the food.
We were lucky enough to have dinner provided for us (in off season they do not necessarily cook each night - but as it was snowing they offered) and it was without doubt the best food we had all trip. Then there was breakfast, equally as good.
I cannot fault it, we had a wonderful time, thankyou Faruk!

We booked Kismet Cave House because of the excellent reviews. We were looking forward to meeting Faruk and he was a lovely, friendly, calm, accommodating guy. We didn't find him pushy at all but instead really helpful. We arrived very early on a long overnight bus and he had us in our rooms quickly, much earlier than expected. We also asked on arrival if we could have two rooms with queen beds instead of one of the rooms having a single as we'd originally booked and whilst I think that might have been a logistical nightmare, it was arranged for us with no complaints, which was great. After a rest we discussed with Faruk what we wanted to do in the region & we took on quite a lot of his suggestions. We had expected the hard sell on ballooning in the town as it seems to be such a mecca for that, but didn't get it from Faruk or any others, which was nice, as we had decided before arriving that we would give it a miss due to the cost. However, we took up many of Faruk's suggestion, including the open air museum, hiking through the rose valley, the whirling dervishes, (which my partner & I really enjoyed, as much for the amazing building it was in as the display itself), a turkish dinner & traditional dancing show (which I had reservations about but loved - fabulous food, lots of drinks, a fun show in another amazing building). My very favorite thing of anything we did in our 17 days in Turkey was our day with Mustafa as our private driver, arranged by Faruk. Mustafa took us to see and do fabulous things, including spectacular views of all the cave houses, into former underground living quarters & wine sampling at the owner's adjoining property, amazing carved churches, lunch in the river (literally) in a beautiful gorge - the list goes on but it was totally worth doing. Ask Faruk for Mustafa, he was excellent, friendly, informative, a safe driver and had a new comfortable van to haul the three of us around in. Mustafa also drove us to the dervishes and came to the dinner/dance show and we felt like old friends by the end. As for the hotel itself, it was lovely & traditional but with enough modern facilities like the great bathroom with spa bath to make it really comfortable. Our only suggestion would be a fan in the room as we were hot one morning and accidentally let flies in when we opened the windows. Other than that, it was a pretty perfect base for seeing amazing Cappadoccia.

We are a family with 2 young adult children and we stayed for 4 nights. Great hospitality. Faruk has produced a hotel with great facilities and he aims to give you an experience to remember both in the hotel and with sightseeing advice. His suggestions of where to go and what to see were spot on. Faruk ia a warm and generous host.
