“Good hotel option in Goreme”
Reviewed 30 August 2012

30 or so cave and fairy chimney rooms located very near the popular Kelebek hotel. In fact a pair of brothers manage them both. Sultan Cave is similar to the Kelebek (where we also stayed during our time in Goreme), but didn't seem as well situated. Public areas were not as plentiful, and less open to breezes. Our room - 306, a cave, was beautiful and very clean. Coffee and tea set-up in room, but no closet or fridge. Terrific breakfast, one of our best in Turkey. Staff were helpful; willing to set up tours throughout the area and make shuttle arrangements to or from either airport (Kayseri or Nevsehir).

Room Tip: Cave room 306 was beautiful, but all of the rooms here probably are. Check out their website for pho...

We were tight for time in Cappadocia, and had 2 nights. However, Sultan Cave were very helpful in the logistics and planning of activities. We were picked up on time from the airport and with the help of the hotel had arranged a Dervish ceremony, horse riding tour, and a city tour within the short time.

The restaurant in the hotel was also pretty good. Breakfast is a huge spread and can last you till lunch.

Overall a unique hotel, with a friendly atmosphere.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are smaller than the rooms on the second floor.

We stayed in room 311 for a wek and really enjoyed our stay. The reception are great, helpful and were able to book some tours for us, no hassle at all. The cleaning ladies were so sweet, I felt so bad having them clean up after us, so we only used them once during the week to give them a rest. The breakfast is a pretty standard Turkish affair but for the sweet tooths there is a larger than normal array of jams and preserves. I don't, so stuck with the boiled eggs, cucumber and cheese. The hotel is up a small hill which makes for great views and its 5min from all the action. We tried the sister hotel pool but boy was it cold ha ha, so we had some wines instead. We live in the Middle East so we skipped the hammam, they are cheaper where we live but tourists from further abroad might enjoy the experience, they are fun for a good scrub down. While you get free access to the hot room, they pressure you very sternly to get a massage, so we only went once, too itimidating. The room was lovely had everything you needed and oh so big for a Turkish hotel room! We spent hours on the verandah relaxing, I even got up early to watch the balloons. My only 2 gripes was no where to put your soap in the shower except the floor and well I thought I would be staying in a cave! With a name of "Cave Suites" I thought that's what I'd get, it had always been a dream of mine! Our room on the top was cut stone bricks, beautiful and probably much more practical and comfortable than a cave but still I can't say I stayed in a cave room! No fault of the hotel, my naivity and short research time, there are other hotels around town which are actually cave rooms recessed into the hills. Next time! We enjoyed our stay none the less thank you!

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at this hotel. We stayed in Room 311, which had a lovely private terrace - perfect for watching the hot air balloons float by in the morning (if you're an early riser, that is). Everything was incredibly comfortable. The only drawback is the hotel is so nice, you don't want to leave your room. Fortunately, we spent about a week there and had plenty of time to explore the amazing countryside, sit by the pool and spend an afternoon or two in the hamam (try the soap massage - it is amazing!). We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning and the wonderful views. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Goreme.

The hotel is located in the midst of all the entire landscape and cave area of Cappadocia. From every part of the hotel you get different views of the landscapes. The cave rooms are huge and the experience is great! We loved the hotel.
Staff is very hospitable. Restaurant Setan in the hotel was the best we felt amongst all we tried. Had Vegetarian food which was absolutely delicious! Can only imagine what treat the non-veggies would get. Stayed 3 nights here all of which were amazing and perfect. Could not ask for more.

I couldn't have been happier with my hotel choice. From the moment you walk in you feel that you step into another reality, the hotel terraces having an amazing view over the surreal valleys of Cappadocia. I stayed in a cave room, as this was an old dream of mine, and had the best sleep of my life as it was very quiet and relaxing. I am very passionate about food and so I was in for a treat at the hotel's restaurant, Seten, which is a wonderful place for exquisite Anatolian cuisine. I warmly recommend the Seten Style Lamb Kebab, it was delicious! The waiter was very helpful as he suggested a superb white local wine, which made the dinner even better.
Special thanks go to Mustafa, the hotel manager, who made us really feel like home and gave us precious information on Cappadocia and recommended us daily tours tailored to our interests. All staff was very nice and spoke beautiful English. I would definetely go back to Sultan Cave Suites as my stay there was so enjoyable.

My wife and I stayed in one of Sultan cave rooms (306) and had a lovely experience. The hotel staff was extremely helpful especially Mustafa. He was very knowledgeable about Cappadocia. Explaining the various activities that were available in the region and gave us brochures for different tours and balloon trips but use any "hard sell" tactics to persuade us to choose one over the other. Also gave us info on hiking by ourselves in the various valleys.

Our room was fun and a very old cave. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean and large with plenty of hot water and decent water pressure.
The breakfast that's included in the room rate was delicious and served for several hours every morning so you don't have to feel rushed about eating. The common areas are comfortable and the view from the hotel is unforgettable.
