We have nothing bad to say about our experience at the Sultan Cave Suites. It has a lovely view of town, perfect for drinking a cup of coffee on the terrace outside of the reception. The included breakfast is delicious, with so many options. We also dined at the Seten restaurant and had a nice meal--they even gave us a discount and nice complimentary dessert plate since we were guests of the hotel.

Mehmet, the owner, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, taking time from his own day to show us the area and also take us to a pottery studio (which we asked for). He gave us great restaurant recommendations and good advice on what things were worth doing and what things were over the top touristy.

We were also able to book a hot air balloon ride and day tour through the hotel, which made things easy. The wireless internet worked most of the time, and there is also a computer in the reception free for guest use. A wonderful experience overall.

Room Tip: We were three people and stayed in a room with two twin beds and a double bed--perfect.

There are several great things to say about the Sultan Cave Hotel. When booking your room, you can view their website to see a picture of each room so you know where you are staying. The restaurant is excellent for breakfast and dinner-- they provide a large Turkish breakfast and the dinner has a variety of Turkish cuisine. The staff is beyond accommodating -- they booked our hot air balloon ride, drove us to attractions in town, the wait staff in the restaurant was very attentive and answered any questions we had. Our room was beautiful (and very clean)!

The only compliant was the wifi was not great -- and when it did work, it had to be used in the restaurant/reception areas.

When visiting Cappadocia, a hot air balloon ride is a must!!! The Open Air Museum is fascinating. And don't miss walking in town to check out the shops and trying other Turkish cuisine.

Fantastic unusual hotel, knowledgeable friendly staff, outstanding breakfast and service.
This place is a treasure to be savoured
I was told the average stay is 2 nights.
Cappadoccia cannot be done justice in that time and you will regret having to leave this hotel so soon.
We did four nights which just about allows you the time to enjoy this unique location and fabulous hotel.
If you can stay longer do it!

Room Tip: As the rooms are caves they vary in size. If you want a larger one specify on booking. Room 323...

The hotel is up a hill in Goreme and as a result, the open spaces of the hotel overlook the town and it is a wonderful view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Photos of each room is published and you can actually request specific rooms for your stay based on photos, which is a plus.

As noted by some other reviewers - the hotel public areas has many steps (it's built into a hillside essentially) so folks who have a hard time walking up and down stairs would probably have a hard time here.

There are couches and tables in the common areas (outdoors) of the hotel that offers a wonderful place to watch the sunrise or sunset, or enjoy a beverage while reading. Coming outside during sunrise is a special treat to watch the hundreds of balloons take off in the distance.

The hotel is within easy walk to the restaurants of the Goreme area. The hotel itself has a restaurant and breakfast is provided.

Tip: You're staying in a cave... it will be a bit damp and rather humid at times. This isn't the fault of the hotel, it's the nature of staying in a room that's either half or fully a cave. Please keep in mind that this is part of the experience and for travelers sensitive to humidity, please consider a hotel with more normal rooms.

Overall a good base to relax, rest the heels, and launch our cappadoccia adventure.

Wow. We just returned from the States after about 10 days in Turkey. I've stayed in different cave hotels in Ugrup and Goreme before but this one was really great. The owner was very helpful and had his staff take us around the area when we first arrived. We got a nice tour of the Goreme Open Air Museum the next day from one of his friends. He took us to a local winery for a private tour and tasting, too. The room for the 3 of us was fantastic and a great experience. Breakfast was quite good. The view from the patio area was beautiful looking out over the city and terrain.

Room Tip: Use the on line pics of the different rooms from the website

Excellent Experience, well worth it for the price and location is incredible.
Stayed here for 3 days and loved every moment of it.
Great breakfast buffet as well.

Side note - When in Gerome, be careful of rental car GPS systems. We ended up stranded in the middle of no where. It could have turned out disastrous.

We stayed in a suite that had a vaulted ceiling living room and cave-style bedroom with skylight. Located in the same complex as its sister resort Kelebek, the shared pool access was a big plus. The restaurant setting in the courtyard was very romantic and the food and wine was amazing (we had vegetarian stuffed dolmas, soup and various mezes). The breakfast was also exceptional. Goreme center is only a 10min walk down the hill, with rug shops, pide restaurants, convenience stores and tour agencies.

Room Tip: The suites are so charming and relaxing!
