“A lot Of Information About Early Christian History”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

We are shocked by our experience. This maze alike underground city is a complicated and intelligent architecture, back at almost 2000 years ago. Please go in with a guide as they are the only source of information at the site. It takes effort to walk up and down, but it is fine for most people as long as it's not in a hurry. Looking forward to see more places opening, as the guide said there are still 80meters below which are not opened yet.

“Not for the claustrophobic”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Worth going to see. Wear sturdy footwear. There is a chorus of souvenir sellers here but you can get a cheap cup of tea or coffee in the main shop.

“Semi interesting”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

If we'd not been to the underground cities in Saigon, this might have been interesting. There are numerous levels to see, but we were allowed only to walk on one level. There are a few narrow passageways to navigate which were difficult for those with difficulties walking or unable to walk in a bent over position. The most interesting part of all are the huge circle stones that were rolled into place to prevent the invaders to enter the occupied chambers. It does give one pause to imagine what life would have been like in the dark, underground maze.

“Underground City”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

As others have mentioned, this attraction is not for the frail or those with heart conditions, as you are climbing on uneven ground, going through narrow tunnels and in some small spaces. The cost is 8 TL or about 4 USD. Our guide, Ender, explained that the latest research suggests the caves were not for every day living ,but more for storage of grain/ food items & in times to hide from the enemy, as the rock contains asbestos. It is a wonderful experience, so different from other attractions!

“Ozkonak Underground City”

I was amazed at how many levels down this place went and how many people and animals could live there at one time. Every detail was thought out, such as how to vent the smoke so no one would be able to see it from the outside. It's not for the claustrophobic, some place are tight and low. People with young children might have some difficulty and you'll have to leave the stroller behind.
