“Almost a museum!”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

This hotel has taken ruins and turned them into cave rooms and free standing suites of luxury. A tour of the hotel takes you to a wine cellar, a meeting area, and several views of an astonishing vista of Pigeon Valley and surrounding areas. A very nice restaurant and welcoming lounge complete the property. Gardens flow down the hillside. A great way to visit this other worldly region.

Room Tip: Website illustrates all the choices. Cave rooms are quite dark.

This is a lovely hotel, spread out through the village and with large comfortable rooms, well equipped with a log fire (even by late October getting cool in the evenings), good bathrooms etc. The views are fantastic and the food very good, albeit at prices which were closer to London than we would have expected for central Turkey. What didn't quite work was the attitude of some of the staff who did not appear to think they, the hotel, could ever be wrong. Our wine one evening was cloudy from the first glass - if you are going to charge London prices, you need to provide top city service but rather than just replace it, the waiting staff decided to get into a long argument about how it wasn't their fault, was alright really, was "just badly kept" etc until we gave in rather than have a major incident. The hotel needs to ensure that someone with a degree of authority oversees the restaurant in the evening, as the staff were clearly frightened of making the right (for the customer) decision.

Don't miss to take a tour of the hotel. It is like a museum. Specialy cellar is interesting. Every details of the decoration is unique. Rooms was very good with a terrace. It was really the most romantic hotel I have ever stayed. I wish to visit again.

What a phenomenal property - the owners have been buying up small homes all around the existing hotel and they rebuild them with a style you only see in Cappadocia and they do it so well. All the art and much of the furniture is locally sourced and of wonderful quality. All the rooms are very different because they were all homes before - our bedroom had lovely double opening doors to a deck and the other wall was glass as well so we had a magnificent view.

The service was outstanding - front desk, cleaning, and wait staff. When we checked in about 11:00 at night we were still able to order from the kitchen and it arrived in minutes. Breakfast was very very good with typical Mediterranean food as well as honey in a honeycomb, beautiful fresh fruit, cappuccinos, lattes, and any type of egg to order. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights - which we rarely do - and it was excellent! They have a good wine list.

Don't forget to do the property and wine cellar tour they do each evening - it's well worth it!

There are lots of steps throughout the whole property so it could be a challenge for some people.

Room Tip: If you get claustrophobic - make sure you ask for a room with a window in the bedroom area!

Hotel is located in Uchisar, I think the best area in all around Kapadokya... views of the valley and morning balloons are spectacular.
We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed every each day. The cave room we were staying was unique and memorable, it was nicely decorated and comfortable but didn't have a view and a window which was a bit of disappointment.
Breakfast was delicious, friendly staff makes you feel special. Reception desk was helpful but they forgot to give our wake up call (double check)
We would recommend this place and like to stay again (in a bigger room with a view)

I have been here three days with my family. This hotel is absolutely fantastic. You can really feel the Cappadocia in every single detail. The rooms are amazingly furnished and cosy. Everywhere super clean. The service is perfect and all people around you always smiling and trying to give you all you might need. Wonderful stay. Highly recommended . The restaurant is good as well. Good wines.

Room Tip: There are few rooms with private pools. Breathless. If you can afford , go for it.
