“Superb and Magical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

Amazing is not the word for the hotel…We stayed in a cave suite which can easily sleep 5 people. It was a magical experience for us. The service is very personalized..right from preparing the hammam to serving breakfast to each guests. The quality of food served to us was top class. The location of the hotel is apt to tour the nearby tourist attractions. The feel of the place is no less than a castle. The owner Mr. Abdullah took great care of us. I would say that this was one of the best places we have stayed in a long time.

We travelled as a family of 9 for two weeks around Turkey and booked ourselves 5 rooms for 4 nights at Kale Konak, and all of us agreed that it was truly the highlight of our trip! In fact we all agreed that it deserved way more than the 5-star rating we could give it.

Location - away from the madding touristy crowd with fantastic sprawling views of Cappadocia being perched on a hill, and the early morning skies are littered with hot air balloons. Had a meditative and tranquil quality to it.

Rooms - extremely unique with lovely antique furniture and rugs, extremely clean and very well equipped with modern amenities - perfect marriage of old and new, antique and modern.

Breakfast and Dinner - Absolutely delicious and generous! You would need to make reservations for dinner (24 Euro per portion incl. mezzes and dessert) before midday, and on our first night each portion was so huge that we ended up ordering 5 portions to be shared among the 9 of us for the following nights. Menu for dinner is fixed for each different day, but we found it all to be delicious!

Staff - extremely gracious and helpful, always went beyond expectations - from owner Abdullah, managers Emel and Tasin and the rest of the staff. They really went out of their way to make you feel at home and that they were always there to help you in every way.

Service - again beyond expectations. Little things that made a huge difference like calling the room to check that you were up for your balloon ride (even when I hadn't requested a wake up call), early morning breakfast at 6am because we had an early flight out, arranging for a masseuse for a private Turkish hamam and masage experience in the beautiful hamam room (50 Euro for the private one hour experience - it was wonderful!).

It is difficult to pinpoint why exactly Kale Konak was so special to us, but all 9 of us left feeling that we had experienced something truly magical, and definitely hope to return again someday!

This was the most unique of our hotel stays traveling around Turkey...... Traveling anywhere for that matter. Located in a quiet back street village near the "castle" ...... Warm hospitality, large rooms and a most fabulous breakfast ...... Sorry not to have prebooked a dinner ...... Tho nearby Göreme had good restaurants. The experience of staying in a cave hotel.... And the special nature of this well run gem.... Made our two days of sightseeing , carpet buying and general tourist travel a fabulous memorable time

It was one of the best hotels on our trip to Turkey !! Abdullah was a great host, and served us warm breakfast every day, he has this special cookies for breakfast, that is available no where else in Turkey, they were awesome! I did ask for a room with windows, and Abdullah made sure everything was perfect in the rooms. The rooms have a great view, and authentic cave feel, you can see the whole of Cappadocia valley, since Uchisar is at the top of the mountains. I'd recommend staying here on your Cappadocia trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with windows, the views are great!!

This beautiful boutique hotel was, along the balloon flight, the highlight of our trip to cappadocia!
Our cave room was very cute and special and I loved exploring all the narrow pathways that connected our room with the rest of the hotel! Breakfast was fresh & great and its was served wherever we preferred. We also enjoyed the hotel tourkish bath!
Also Uchisar was less touristic than Goreme and Urgup and had the best view of the valleys.
One morning we put the alarm at 6 and watch away the balloons :)
Last but not least Abdullah make our trip better and easier from the moment we did the reservation!
Thanks again for a great experience!
ps for more details take a look at my pics

Room Tip: our cave room was ideal for us but if windows and good signal is important to you choose one at high...

We stayed for two nights in early May. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful, as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and its served on a terrace with spectacular views over Goremes valleys.

I also proposed to my girlfriend during the stay and Abdullah the owner was very helpful and arranged for flowers and a bottle of (Turkish) champagne to be put in the room free of charge.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Kale Konak. Yes, the room was nice and yes, the location was great, but the best part was the staff.

The owner and his staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating and did everything for us from booking our tours to ordering us food from nearby restaurants at night. The breakfasts were really something to look forward to, especially the sweet older gent who serves the tea :)

Go for it! Stay here. AND...it's directly in front of Uchisar Castle. Nice.
