Very nice hotel in astonishing village of Uchisar. We have spent there one night during our trip to Cappadocia and I wish we had time for at least one more night.
The rooms, service and restaurant in the hotel are all very good, but what really makes it fabulous is its unique style – rooms are carved into rocks – as well as amazing views of Cappadocia valleys.
One suggestion: we came to Cappadocia with rented car for two-day visit from our main holiday base in Turkish Riviera. It is quite long 7-8 hour drive from Antalya to Uchisar and two days was not really enough. If anyone plans to make similar car trip from Antalya I recommend spending at least two nights in Cappadocia to have more time to explore its beauty.

This wonderful hotel was excellent. They helped arrange for us to see all of the sights, cooked us delicious meals, and provided a wonderful room. Our only regret is not staying a third day so we could enjoy our room and the beautiful views.

Room Tip: Go for the larger rooms. Spacious and worth it!

Do not miss this place - it is a sight to behold.

Expect to pay about 200 Euros - it is worth every cent. The room I got had many different components and compartments.

You are staying in a real cave - but with all the modern luxuries you'd come to expect from a 4 star. There is even a sign on the bed notifying you that there will sometimes be small grains of stone/cave falling from the top to the floor!

The owner is a delightful young man who will take the time to chat with you about the history of the property - and even show you what they are working on, as they are expanding the number of rooms. There is a peaceful garden to sit in and sip your drink as you look out over the Cappodocia region.

Stay here - you and your children will cherish the visit for many years.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before paying for it - there are so many rooms to choose from.

My husband and I and our two grown children spent a lovely couple of nights at this cave hotet in early May 2012. While I was planning our trip, there were mary emails back and forth with the hotel staff. They were extremely helpful with booking our transport to and from the airport, our balloon ride and underground city tour prior to our arrival. All of which went extremely smoothly while we were there. Our rooms were beautiful. The decor was so traditional and lovely. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms had everything we could have needed. The staff even offered to lay a fire for us our first night. We really enjoyed the time spent in the beautiful courtyard. The comfortable sofas were great for relaxing on and the tables and chairs were perfect for playing games, all with amazing views. We all really enjoyed the delicious Turkish breakfast and beautiful view from the lovely restaurant. We highly recommend this amazing hotel.

You won't stay in a place like this often. Unique cave hotel with a great feel. The room was spacious but still cozy and very nice. Very comfortable bed, great lounging area. The courtyard has spectacular views of the valley. The restaurant is delicious - best breakfast I had in Turkey.

Only complaint is that the wifi was very spotty and unreliable.

We spent 2 days in this hotel .

This hotel is too much expensive for the service and the offer.
Our room was very dark during the day, without no fresh air system, humid.
We had to let door in order to have fresh air.

Moreover there was a part of the entrance with a large window without any curtain that does not provide enough light during the day but only in the morning just on the bed ...

Our room was called a suite but for me that travels a lot and went in many hotels it is just a large room nothing else. There is no balcony for these such rooms, it is described as it is however our room were just in front of reception...

Breakfast was standard. For such price and such hotel we would expect something better. The access of the breakfast room is very dangerous . This room does not offer terrace.

As the hotel has many stairs with no elevator or other access it is not convenient for people with difficulties for walking and for us it was quite difficult with our baby.

There is no parking place dedicated to the hotel.

Except from lux suite the other rooms , as ours, do not offer significative view on thje valley

Dear Sir, Madam,
Thank you for taking the time to review us and commenting on issues on which we should improve. The architecture and nature of the room is actually what makes Cappadocia boutique hotels unique; Cave rooms and suites. I am sorry to hear that you had problem with humidity as it is the first time we had such a complaint for the room you have stayed. We have worked very hard to establish and guarantee a comfortable stay in each of our rooms whether cave or stone. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked the dates you were staying so we couldn't change your room. All of our rooms are uniquely decorated and handcrafted in respect to local traditions and architecture.

As for the parking space, unfortunately we have limited dedicated parking space for 6 cars on a first come first served basis but the dates you were staying was exceptional due to national holidays and we had 14 rooms with cars. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you had.

For the entrance of the breakfast area, I will have it inspected and see what kind of improvements we can make but I can assure you that our hotel has passed with excellence several different international inspections, as it is mandatory to work with international agencies and the stairs leading to the breakfast room are also complying with standards.

I would be very happy if you give us another opportunity in the future to improve your opinion about Taskonaklar Cappadocia.

Kind regards,

We decided to stay in Uchisar because it is a little quieter and less touristy than Goreme (but still only a 10 minute taxi ride from the heart of Goreme). The Taskonaklar hotel is situated on the side of a cliff and the scenery is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, and perfectly run by its very friendly owners. Beds are extremely comfortable, and the cave room that we stayed in was spectacular - felt like an authentic cave, but with modern conveniences and luxuries. The only wrinkle in our stay was the initial airport transfer that we had booked through the hotel - the shuttle did not show up, and we had to take a taxi from Nevsehir to the hotel. However, the moment we arrived at the hotel, the hotel manager apologized and paid our taxi fare for us immediately. This level of service was a welcome surprise - the Taskonaklar wanted to make its guest happy even though they had no control over the airport shuttle (they contract with a third-party company). Everything else during our stay was wonderful, and because of the professional and courteous way they handled the airport transfer situation, I give them my wholehearted recommendation. Great hotel.

Room Tip: Not all rooms are "cave" rooms - but also note that rooms that are higher up have nicer ba...
