I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. After planning a quick, 4-day/3-night trip to Cappadocia from Ankara, I chose this restaurant for dinner the first night after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed. The service was marvelous, with the host remembering our names throughout the evening, and making terrific recommendations for our dinner on the terrace overlooking the moonscape of Goreme. From the freshly baked bread, warm hummus, and lovely wine to the "green walnuts" for dessert, we were delighted - as "foodies" - in the interesting choices offered by this restaurant in the old part of Uchisar. I highly recommend the appetiser of diced smoked eggplant, smoked onion, and smoked garlic - a unique and savory dish. We had the warm hummus without the prosciutto (I'm a vegetarian), and were delighted. Both the mushroom- and spinach-stuffed crepes were nice, but the freshly made pasta with walnuts and cheese was heavenly.
The service was efficient and unobtrusive. My water and wine glasses was always full, empty dishes were whisked quickly away, and the host stopped by our table just often enough to be helpful and not overwhelming. He gave us wine suggestions based on the food we ate, and more food suggestions based on the food we liked best. 5-star service, to be sure.
We were staying at the 5-star Museum Hotel around the corner, and were so disappointed with the dinner there in comparison to Sira (both the food and the service were, at best, 3-star) that we returned to Sira on our third and last night in Cappadocia.
Definitely get a reservation so that you can get a table on the terrace, and you'll be charmed by the sunset over the Goreme valley and the call to prayer. Also, you'll feel more comfortable if you make an effort to dress smartly, as this seems to be an upscale crowd of locals and tourists.
