Staying at such a great place in Cappadoce is just like being in a fairytale. All of the houses are beautiful with their decoration, comfort, view etc... Only important advice to keep in mind is; just because these are stone houses, in winter time you may feel "a little bit" cold !
We have been there in new years time and chimney fire was a pleasure for us but at the same time it was really hard to stay far from the chimney because of the cold weather : ) So my advice is to prefer spring or autumn times. In that case you may also enjoy the beautiful gardens of the houses.

As first-time visitors to Cappodocia, we didn't know whether to stay in Goreme, Urgup or Uchisar. We picked Uchisar because it sounded the most remote, quietest and least touristy. We were right. The setting is unreal, unforgettable. And although there seem to be several interesting places to stay, we picked Les Maisons, and were quite pleased. Talk to Jacques about exactly what kind of accommodations you are looking for, because he has restored some 20 or so "caves" and above-ground houses of different types. We stayed in the "studio of goats" (the name sounds better in French). Jacques did a great job of turning a real cave into a sensuous, elegant space, with an entry way that serves as a sitting room and kitchen, leading to a sizeable bedroom, with a decent sized bathroom off to one side. The setting is completed by a small patio in front, with a cement table and great view of the Pigeon Valley and beyond. One caution: owing to the nature of the studio, there are several small interior steps, and the doors are not full-size, so you need to mind your step, and if you are tall, your head. It all added to the authenticity of living in a cave. It was indeed private and quiet, indoors and out, in part because the house or studios above us were not occupied the first two nights. As other reviews say, Mustafa is the go-to guide (and low-key carpet retailer as well). Best advice--take Jacques' and Mustafa's advice on where to go and when. Above all, don't miss the balloon ride. The 45-minute version is what most people take; it's long enough. Best food in the village, as best we could tell: Elia for "high end" Turkish food (although not too fancy to make anyone uncomfortable); its take on mezze plate was best in two weeks in Istanbul. Center Restaurant for authentic Turkish food in less-elegant, but still perfectly comfortable setting. Jacques' wife was in town from France when we were there so we had the added treat of drinks at their restored house one night. jacques' vision in restoring these caves and houses is truly remarkable. If you can spare the time, three nights is the right amount of time to sample the sights, and there are many. A car is essential. We used EconomyCarRental on-line, for two rentals in Turkey, and were quite satisfied with the service and cars, and price.

Room Tip: All the houses and studios are unique, so talk to Jacques about your preferences.

We chose this property tucked away in Uchisar and we were not disappointed. What's amazing is that you really get the feel of staying in a cave...right from the approach and drive to get to your rooms and the overall architecture. Though small, the room's rustic, natural and untouched interior makes the stay unique. Our specific room overlooked the canyon/gorge and the view was simply breathtaking. The architect of this property has done a stellar job in creating nice little rooms yet keeping the natural beauty intact. If you want to get away from the crowd and enjoy a relaxed stay (sans TV...yep there was no TV but there was WiFi), this is a great choice. The only downside is that it's a tad unsafe for toddlers due to lack of basic fencing around the rooms that have an attached garden. Overall we had a good experience.

Les maisons are a wonderful and romantic place and Uchisar was a perfect base for our visit to cappadocia. We spent 4 nights in Studio Le Pont. The room is small but has fabulous views and plenty of natural light despite being a refurbished cave dwelling. There is a small private garden area looking out over Pigeon Valley that was a lovely spot to relax with some good local wine after a day of sightseeing. In the evening a lady comes by with a basket of breakfast provisions for the next morning and about 7 am someone hangs fresh bread by the door to go with the fruit, cheese and homemade jam from the basket. I highly recommend this for a quiet, private and aesthetically pleasing retreat.

This place was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Hard to describe, but the rooms are partly carved into the unique formations that make Cappodocia special. Lovely hidden gardens, beautiful Bohemianesque furnishings, gorgeous views of the formations. Isolated getaway, so very quiet and very romantic. The food was simple, healthy and delicious. Breakfast consisted of homemade yogurt, the freshest fruit, homemade jams and breads, and the sweetest cooks. The rooftop terrace is the communal dining area with incredible views including the breathtaking sight of the rising balloons in the morning haze. BTW, the balloon ride is a MUST if you go to Cappodocia. Didn't have enough time to check out Goreme, but hopefully plan on returning at some later date and staying longer.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw were lovely. We stayed in #4 which is more an address for the garden, because t...

Our experience in Cappadocia was AMAZING!! The landscape is beyond imagination, the inspiration of the best cgi movies. I couldn't imagine a more perfect vacation spot. And just when I thought nothing could make this more perfect, enter Les Maisons de Cappadoce Studio les Chevres. The owner/architect seamlessly, nay, magically incorporated the beauty, charm, and natural elements of Cappadocia into a truly enchanting and luxe cave dwelling.

Noted in other reviews, les Maisons de Cappadoce is not a hotel but rather, a collection of private cave homes within walking distance from Uchisar town center.

Studio les Chevres highlights:

spacious – enter into kitchen/ dining room which is connected to the bedroom

clean

welcoming

place to unload, breathe, and be

handmade slippers

basket of goodies and fresh baked bread delivered door-step daily

en suite fireplace

reminder: its is a cave and will maintain a cool temperature (we slept with the fire aglow, then the heater)

I think we have all had the experience of finding a hidden gem and returning only to find it not so special the second time. One of the highlights of my visit to Turkey in 2011 was an enchanted stay at Les Maisons de Cappadoce with it's hidden little gardens and breathtaking views. It stayed in my mind when I came home and I so wanted to return. This is a truly memorable place, not really a hotel but a little village beautifully restored and sporting every comfort travellers need but at the same time making you feel you have travelled back in time. I remembered the women who make breakfast with homemade preserves and local honey, yogurt and freshly baked simit ( a round bread with sesame seeds) . They showed me how to roll dough for a local cheese pie. The second time I visited just last week, nothing had changed. It was utterly perfect.

Room Tip: My bathroom was down a stairway that reminded me of the underground cities. Very charming.
