this was a wonderful experience..the staff were knowledgable and helpful..If you wanted to book tours they could help. if you just wanted to rent a car and explore the area on your own ..no problem they were equally helpful.the rooms were nice and comfortable..SO amazing that you are sleeping in a cave transfromed in to a luxury suite.. I would recommend this hotel for anyone..great location as well..easy walk dwon the hill in to town for shopping ., restaurants, and car rental..

I went for a short trip to Cappadocia and I had a fantastic experience at the Hotel Cave. This is a wonderful small hotel with full comfort and the hosts are amazingly friendly. Thanks to a review like the one I am writing here I decided to stay at Hotel Cave Konak and I am appreciative of those who wrote that because that helped me to decide. So I am returning the favor here and I hope my review would help someone else. Coline and Adnan also helped me to arrange the tour guides which were excellent. I also love their B-fast!!. Finally I celebrated my B-day there and Coline prepared me a surprise B-Day cake, this is the kind of people they are!!! You do not regret to stay with them

It was great to read your review - thank you so much. Of course you deserved a cake on your birthday! We are also glad our arrangements helped you enjoy your stay in Cappadocia. We always try to focus on combining quality and price value - for tours and balloon flights as well as our own rooms. Love from all of us at Hotel Cave Konak.

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights in March and were really impressed by its interior and some small goodies like slippers, powerful heating and great shampoos. The atmosphere created by the owners (a British lady Coline and a Turkish professional tourist guide Adnan) is great. The mixture of British balanced and Turkish balanced approaches to business adds many points to their success. Do not hesitate to ask them for recommendations where to eat and where to go - both do their job really well. They will also book the balloon for you and accompany you to some remote but beautiful spots.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We both loved your comment about the British and Turkish balance! We love helping everyone enjoy Cappadocia, and can always help with balloon flights and tour guides, but readers should not leave things to the last minute as the answer "sorry, not tomorrow, we are full" has already started coming. Contact us before you come if possible - but if you can't, we will always try to work some magic:) Love from all of us at Cave Konak Hotel.

We stayed in Cave Konak for 6 days in January and loved it. We found the experience completely different to any other hotel we have stayed in. The rooms are all genuine old cave dwellings restored to an extremely high standard. To call them rooms is an understatement. They are all large two room suites with a large separate bathroom. Each room is different, some with high arched stone ceilings or the fully underground ones are carved out of the rock. They are all decorated with old local artifacts. The rooms are warm, the water is hot and the beds are the most comfortable we have had in Turkey. (Most others are pretty hard for some reason)
The hotel is centrally located in Urgup, an easy walk from the bus stop and several local restaurants and cafes, or you can eat in by arrangement.
The owners Adnan and Colleen built the hotel themselves and are passionate about Cappadoccia. Nothing is too much trouble. While Colleen is happy to recommend or arrange any tours, Adnan is a licensed guide and the two days we spent with him were highlights of our trip to Turkey. We saw and experienced things you would never do with a group tour and would never find by yourself - impromptu lunch in a home setting in a small town with no shops, exploring underground churches in the dark etc. if you are interested, he will find it!
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic experience away from the large tourist hotels.

Room Tip: We looked through them all and it would be difficult to choose. Look at their website for good pictu...

we stayed 3 nights in late dec 2011 just after a heavy snowfall. got in about 11:30pm and adnan, one of the owners arranged hot tea/coffee and a great homemade soup. hit the spot on a cold night. the rooms were all pleasantly warm, clean, roomy, and comfortable. the breakfasts were very good. the location is excellent as it is a half block from the town square. colleen helped us with our forward arrangements including tours and dervish show. wifi was weak in the double suite but great in the dining/reception area. tours of the area were very good and what we saw exceeded our expectations from what we had read beforehand.

During our holidays in Turkey, in October 2011, we have decided to stay 4 days in Cappadocia(really beautiful) and, after reading TripAdvisor reviews, we asked our travel agency to book 4 nights in Hotel Cave Konak.
This Hotel was a very pleasent surprise.
It is a very small and recent Hotel, very well located in the centre of Urgup. At present it has 4 rooms, but the owners, Mrs Colleen and Mr Adnan, are patiently developing their project with love and dedication, and are planning to amplify the Hotel, reespecting the unique local architecture.
Our 2 rooms were charming and exotic cave rooms, wide, adequately decorated in a nice and simple way.
The matress is very good, and even help us to sleep again after the early mornig praying call, from the nearby minaret.
The breakfast is good, simple, without unnecessary excesses.
As we had no travel plan in Cappadocia, we have decided to hire Mr Adnan`s services for all the days of our stay.
Mr Adnan is an excellent guide, he knows and loves his land and culture but, at the same time, as I could personally confirm, he respects diferent cultures, diferent opinions and a diferent way of living.
We will keep in our memory among other things, the beautiful landscape, the delicious traditional Turkish meal in a restaurant managed by laborious women, the touching Muslim religious ceremony in a mosque of a small village, the Turkish songs Mr Adnan likes to sing, the underground cities and, of course, how you helped us to find the wedding ring.
Mrs Colleen is the right complement in the Hotel management. She is very professional, paying attention to all guests needs, looking after their satisfaction and comfort.
Concluding, it is a honest and charming Hotel, with a good quality versus price ratio

Room Tip: If you are clautrophobic do not choose the underground room

I was just thinking about you and your friends the other day – and then I saw your lovely review, so I can certainly say my ears were burning when you were writing it! It was a pleasure to have you all at our hotel, and your tip about our popular underground room is very important. It offers a very unique experience in Cappadocia – like staying in an underground city but with skylights; however, it’s not for those with claustrophobia. To be certain which room you book, go directly throught our website where you can actually choose your room, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions as we love to help. Adnan sends his best regards and we all wish you and your friends a very happy New Year.

Hotel Cave Konak is a beautiful hotel with incredibly warm and gracious owners in Adnan and Colleen. We stayed two nights in December and thanks to them, it will be one of the most memorable vacations we've ever had. The hotel is truly a labor of love. Everything from the bathroom finishes to the individual pieces displayed in each room have been chosen with immense care. Besides the nicely designed space, our suite was warm (central heat was definitely necessary while we were there), clean, and very spacious and comfortable. Adnan and Colleen are so passionate about Cappadocia — not only in preserving the region, but giving their guests a true sense of its culture and history. Adnan, a licensed tour guide, took us around Cappadocia for two full days. If you have the opportunity to have him as your guide, seize it. A native of the region, Adnan enriched the experience with his knowledge, humor and stories. His energy is endless and he introduced us to hidden places away from the tour buses (breathtaking spots we would've been hard-pressed to find on our own). After a week in Turkey, we had our last dinner of the trip at the hotel, cooked by Adnan's wife. It was the best meal of our vacation! We can't say enough about the overall experience at Hotel Cave Konak.
