We just came back from Turkey yesterday and the whole trip arranged by HTRTours. Lesley did a fabulous job with our itinerary, transfers, hotel and flight bookings. We are very happy with the service they provided and will definitely use them again and recommend to friends and family. We went with them on tours to Pamukkale, Ephesus and 3 days in Cappadocia. We spent 4 days in Istanbul on our own. The airport transfers went very smoothly and were on time for pick up. We flew from Istanbul to Izmir, Izmir to Kayseri and Kayseri to Istanbul.
Our tour guides to the following tours did an awesome job and are very highly recommended. Selcuk took us to Ephesus tour. He was so funny and very informative. We loved him. The ancient city of Ephesus came alive because of his narration. Oguzhan TURKOGLU was our tour guide in Cappadocia for 2 days. He is fabulous and very knowledgeable. He also shared a lot of his funny stories with us. He took us on a long hike to the Kamakli underground village, Imagination Valley, Monk's Vallley, Goreme Open Air Museum and Cavusin village, Avanos pottery. He took care of us an gave us free time to explore. Both days were packed and interesting. Joanna from Insider travel (not sure if I spelled her name right) was our tour guide in Ilhara Valley & Derinkuyu tour in Cappadocia. Joanna was also great and took care of us very well. We also went for a long hike and climb on this tour. We definitely will request for these guides if we go back to Turkey again. These 3 tour guides made our trip very fun and memorable because of the information and stories that they shared.
We did not really care for the Pamukkale tour guide that much and did not remember his name. However, Pamukkale is a place you should visit. And make sure you take a dip at the thermal pools. It was a great and refreshing experience.
We stayed at the Harmony Hotel in Istanbul and explored it on our own for 3 1/2 days. We hit all the major sites using Rick Steve's Istanbul book and went on foot all the way with exception of a taxi ride to Taksim Square which the hotel manager recommended. We are glad we took the taxi ride up to Taksim Square because it was an uphill climb. We walked back to the hotel from Taksim square and stopped along the way for lunch and more sightseeing.
Turkey is a very lovely place to visit and will definitely be one of the places we'd like to visit again next time.
