“Avarage Service of Avarage hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

It was an avarage holiday village established in Urgup Town of Cappadocia Region. It was ideally match for our budget, however it was not as quite we expected it. The T.V. was working but with unclear vision, and the furniture were not very new either.

Except that, the location was nice, and the comfort of being staying in as separated villas was exclusively nice

This hotel was probably really nice some years ago but without any rehab since the '80s. Beds are single and very unconfortable. Frequented by lot of turist groups and not so calm. The swimming pool was closed even with temperatures of 30 degrees and the smell of the hammam was not attractive at all! The breakfast buffet is not so bad, with a lot of salty and sweet choices.
Not a romantic place.

We were on a trip by the german company rds travel, and this was the worst hotel where we had to stay 3 nights. It boasts 4 stars but for modern turkish standards it would hardly get 2 stars... The accomodation corresponds to that of a youth hostel. Seperate fixed bunk beds, shower inundating the small bathroom, many of our fellow travelers had no hot water or heating, when nights were really cold. The hotel needs complete overhall, tiles are loose, gardens non attented and pool dirty and filled with a thick darkgreen fluid. Meals of low standard quality, seating in the restaurant only in reserved spots for groups. Overbooking so you get chased from the tables.
We had no idea of the price of the half-board stay, but we guess only backpacktravelers and very young travelers would be contented with this sort of accomodation.
We totally blame RDS that misleads his costumers.

Put in here by RSD Travel for three nights during a tour of Cappadocia. I wouldn't stay here by choice but in the circumstances of a (cheap) tour it was acceptable. It's on the NW outskirts of Urgup but close to many of the key sites in Cappadocia. Its grounds and pool area are incredibly run down. 4-star in Turkey is in no way equivalent to 4-stars in other countries but the rather worn room was comfortable, and spacious, although the bathroom was a bit small. The buffet food seemed at first to be varied but was virtually the same every night. Quality of the cold buffet and breakfast was reasonable but their cooked food was poor and not helped by the surly chefs cooking at the counter. Serving staff were, however, very pleasant although somewhat limited in their English. Reception staff were generally friendly but not disposed to put their customers first if it clashed with their way of working.

Room Tip: Rooms close to the coach park/main drive are very noisy from early 'til very late

As most of the people would see of this "hotel" an outdated and horrible one, i see in it a magnificent place to stay in , if you are not searching for a luxurious prestigious place.
it is located in the mountains of cappadokia , in the heart of the old village, far from the routines of urban-ism.
the old brick roads and walls all around the way , the nature in its best image the birds the breathe ... even if the rooms and furniture are old, even if the service is horrible, just wake up in the early morning, stand outside, and see that feeling you get , when the silence of the place touches ur soul , when the shy sun beams hits your eyes and the cold refreshing breathe tickles your body, then you will forget about the service and everything.
its not poetry im writing, but i was really touched by that place.
there is a nearby wine cave , you can visit and buy local wines, its v.nice too.
a 10mins walk can tacke you to the local market where you can find some restos and pubs.

the best time to visit is between june and august, otherwise there would be snow, i guess.
if you are a family with kids it may not suites you neither for business. if you are a group of friends or a retired couple , a nature lover, seeking a romantic and cozy stay, away from the city's etiquette and noises, i highly recommend this place.

p.s some of the staff talk french

We arrived late in Urgup and went to the Turban Hotel because it was close to our hotel. the dining room was huge and depressing. We ate the buffet style dinner before we knew the price. The meal was the only awful dinner we had during our three week vacation in Turkey. We were charges 50 TL for the dinner. Several hours later we both became VERY sick for the next 24 hours.

If you're after a no frills hotel and don't plan to spend a long time in your room then this hotel is for you!

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Urgup (about 10 mins from the centre) so we found it very convenient for restaurants etc. It's set in large grounds and has a number of room blocks so making it ideal for large tour groups. Our room was pretty outdated and the whole place could do with modernising but we weren't here to spend a great deal of time in the rooms!

The staff were friendly enough and a very big plus for us was a very large swimming pool to do some decent laps. Breakfast was very basic - typical Turkish.
