“Wonderful and Unforgettable Experience”
Reviewed 21 October 2011

Staying in a cave room is the best experience while visiting Cappadocia. The staff is SO friendly. You have everything you need, including wi-fi and access to a computer in the "rec room". The fact that you are welcomed in a living room, and offered a snack while you check in is a great gesture. They make you feel right at home. The room was comfortable and great.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have better views and probably more light.

In this region you are going to be visiting homes, monasteries and churches in caves so staying in a cave hotel is a natural but extraordinary experience. Each room is different. Our was large and nicely appointed with our own terrace in front for viewing the countryside. The breakfast was exceptionally good with lots of variety from which to select and dinner in the dining room was competent. There are several cave hotels in the region. You cannot miss with this one unless you need accessibility for wheelchairs in which case you should inquire in advance.

From the moment we arrived the manager Abdullah sat us down and went over all the details about the property, breakfast, guest kitchen,etc...

Everything about this beautiful property lived up to the hype. We were 2 couples that stayed 4 nights and we were upgraded to cave suites! They were really fantastic. Great space, great views. All the staff was very nice. Can't wait to come back again.

From the hotel its an easy walk to the center of town which is charming, Tip #1:Eat at a little place called Sofra. Great place! Tip #2: Stay out of the "antique" shop on the main road. He's a very charming liar. The stuff in his shop is made to look old but it's fake. Don't believe a word he says.

Room Tip: Go high! It's worth the climb.

Our Cappadocia experience was fabulous from beginning to end. Arriving at Yunak Evleri in the evening was amazing after a long bus trip. The whole hotel was lit up like fairyland. Absolutely enchanting. We were warmly greated by staff and the check in procedure was friendly and informative. Our room was very well appointed, clean, spacious and air-conditioned although we had no need for it. The bathroom had old world charm mixed with up to date conveniences. Breakfast was lovely after an early morning mind blowing balloon ride. There are also quite a few excellent restaurants close by. The highlight was sitting on the roof top alfresco area with a wine watching the reflection of the sun setting on the cliff face. The wines from this region are excellent and the hotel has a more than adequate range. Yunak Evleri is the perfect base to return to after a days sightseeing. Just beautiful! I can now tick that one off my bucket list.

The property is beautiful and renovated with sensitivity. It is done with a wonderful minimalist sensibility. The rooms are gorgeously appointed with a very comfortable bed and a great bathroom.
The staff provides excellent service and attention. Abdullah the manager is a great host. I forgot a bag with all my chargers (cellphone/camera/kindle) and Abdullah promptly had them mailed to my next hotel which saved me a lot of trouble in having to go an find a new set.
The hotel has a beautiful setting on the cliffs in Urgup and makes a wonderful sight at sunset.
It makes the perfect base for exploring Kapadokya.
I had 4 wonderful nights here and can't wait to be back.
Ziggy's right next to the hotel is a great place for lunch or dinner.

We were booked into this marvelous hotel by Argeus Tours and they made a fantastic choice! The rooms were spacious, bathrooms clean and lovely (although caves do "shed" a bit). Each area had a couple of spaces where you could sit outside. We had cocktails each night with our friends and were pleased that we had a space where we could sit outside in a group. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The reception process was painless and everyone did all they could to make us comfortable after our long drive to reach the hotel. The location is perfect for the unbelievable Goreme Valley. Also you're close to the world renown morning balloon rides, the Turkish bath (hamman), and the underground "towns" that were occupied until the 1970's. The downtown area itself is in walking distance with some shops for both the locals and tourists. This hotel was a highlight of our fabulous trip. Thanks Argeus Tours for our fantastic guide. He really got all of us to leave loving your country!!

Room Tip: I visited a lot of the rooms and each one had something to recommend it. Some were more "in th...

If only all caves were this nice! We had a wonderful two nights at the Yunak Evleri. It starts out by being a beautiful and unusual place for a vacation. Then it has excellent service and attention by the staff. It's fun to sit outside your own little cave and watch the sunset and surrounding countryside.

Breakfasts were good and served on a very nice veranda in the open air. Only problem was that there is a real rush hour around 8:30 to 9:30 when people start coming in from balloon trips and before guided tours which start around 9:30. Things get pretty crowded, so it's best to avoid that time period.

We didn't have dinner, which is a fixed menu. Instead we ate at the adjacent restaurant one night and went downtown the next. The downtown is kind of interesting (they had a free outdoor concert one night) and well worth the 10 minute walk down. We walked back up, but one might want to take a taxi back since it's pretty hilly.

Only one caveat. They don't have air conditioning, counting on the cave to be cool enough. But I found it a little warmer than I would have liked, though I ended up sleeping well.

All in all, a very nice place to spend your time in Capadoccia.
