My boyfriend and I had booked this cave hotel on the recommendation of another couple who had stayed there while visiting Cappadocia. It didn't take much for us to be convinced once we saw pictures and read many positive reviews.

I would recommend asking for airport pick up as the ride is almost an hour to the hotel (and price very reasonable).

My boyfriend and I were shock to receive such welcoming hospitality and also received a complimentary upgrade to a Jacuzzi Suite. When we booked on line, we also had complimentary breakfast buffet included. We were in complete amazement as they showed us the facilities and then to our room. The hotel was impressive and even better than any picture.

Right down from the exceptional service, the comfortable bed, the jacuzzi, the ambience of our room (dark, cool, and lit candles at night), our view outside of the room, location, the breakfast buffet and the staff and management who spoke excellent English (we were starting to get frustrated by previous hotels with no english speaking staff). Each staff and management of this hotel were genuinely wanting to ensure you had the best experience in Cappadocia, so anything you wanted, needed to know...you got it. Right from the honest opinions of tours and cost of things.

The location is perfect, a few minute walk down you will find delightful restaurants and city centre where you can get your fill of cheap and delicious Turkish delights.

We did indeed do the hot air balloon ride (a must do) and a day tour. The manager who we set up these tours with was excellent and honest (clearly not interested in how much money he could suck out of us, but to ensure we were getting the best options for our money for the time we had) - in many other hotels, they are more interested in taking as much money from you and not caring about anything else. This isn't the case here at Yunak.

We stayed 3 nights here. Everyday was a beautiful way to wake up to. We didn't want to leave. It was our favourite and most memorable experience in Turkey. There are other cave hotels in the area, but when we saw them, they didn't look anywhere as clean and nice as the Yunak.

Overall, I would highly recommend a stay here at the Yunak. We are back home in Canada and can't stop talking about it to our friends, we even said, we would've paid more...it was that great of an experience.

Thank you again to the staff - we had a wonderful stay.

Vanessa & Abdeen - Canada

Room Tip: For the few extra dollars to get the Jacuzzi Suite..I would pay for it, especially if you are a couple. We were uncertain about getting the Suite when we were booking on line, but when we arrived we were lucky to have received a complimentary upgrade. Once we saw the room, we commented that we would've paid the extra money..it is that nice. So, if you're out on a romantic couples vacation..treat yourself to the suite.

We stayed at this hotel while exploring the unique sights of Cappadocia. The room was a cave and although very clean and tidy was quite small with not much room for cases and clothes storage. There were other rooms with much more space. The breakfasts were simple but plentiful and the meals in general, which were set menus, were very good and had a homecooked appeal. The walk down to the town centre is 5 or 10 minutes but the walk back is longer as it is all uphill. The rooftop area was great for evening drinks with a good view over the unusual landscape of Cappadocia. The staff were good and made the stay very pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for a large room if possible

For over a year, my girlfriend and I had been dreaming about going to Cappadocia and staying at that particular hotel. Our high expectations were amply exceeded. The setting of the hotel, excavated into a crescent-shaped hill, is stunning. Rooms are large and well equipped. Although not very luminous, they have a terrace with chairs from which to enjoy the amazing views of the region. Above all, service was not only impeccable but also exceptionally warm and friendly. Hotel manager Abdullah was extremely helpful arranging tours and hotel reservations for us and all other clients. We very much enjoyed meeting him and the rest of the staff.
Very highly recommended. We can't wait to be back. Next time, we'll bring our families!

I don't think you will be disappointed by choosing this cave hotel. The food in the restaurant is good and there are other good restaurants within easy walking distance. The town centre is a comfortable stroll away. Urgup is a convenient centre for visiting the sights of the region. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and of course have the unusual feature of being in caves. The staff are all welcoming and helpful.

My wife & I stayed at the Yunak Evleri during a whirlwind weekend adventure in Cappadocia. We chose this hotel based on it's location and reviews we had read, and were not disappointed in any way! Everything was made easy for us, and NOT at what I felt were inflated or inappropriate prices I might add. The hotel arranged transportation from the airport (in a nice air-conditioned van with onboard wi-fi) and we were greeted at the gate by the staff. For us the location (just off a primary road on the edge of Urgup's 'town center') was ideal! It was quiet but there were plenty of options for dinner within easy walking distance. Our room was on the upper level, bigger than I might have expected (for a cave), and very clean. The bathroom was large and immaculate, featuring a whirlpool tub and separate shower. For really particular or high-end travelers, I would say that the furniture & bed linens were not all that luxurious, but they were certainly adequate and (as mentioned before) clean. The common area with a stocked pantry, books, music, and computers with internet access was a nice touch. Above all though, I would say that the service and hospitality are what really won us over, as we really were made to feel like special guests throughout our stay (brief as it was).
Oh, and one last comment: The hotel manager introduced us to Omer from Park Taksi, who ended up being our driver for the weekend. The cost was VERY reasonable, and Omer took us to some of the most amazing little spots en-route to the sights we had on our 'must see' list. And he didn't run away or even blink when we showed him the ambitious (crazy) itinerary we cooked up for our first day! I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone with limited time for exploring the area.

Room Tip: Spurge on a room with a whirlpool bath if you can.
