Located in the small village of Urgup, is a very good option for the ones who want a calm place to stay, with a typical architecture. Breakfast is really good, and has a nice view of the surroudings. Staff is helpful and nice - we had a problem with our room and they immediately changed us. Nearby there is a nice restaurant called Zigg, that should be visited for dinner.

This hotel is the perfect blend of traditional Capadoccia "cave hotel" experience with solid modern amenities. The rooms were beautiful, roomy and, importantly, nice and cool during hot summer days. My kids adored the experience, which truly was enhanced by a lovely, helpful and accomodating staff. Last, the views over the valley are spectacular, and town is a short 5 minute walk away.

Hotel is great, be sure to ask fot the cave rooms. Breakfast is quite a lovely time ( when weather is good) as it is given on a roof terrace with a nice view. We had a triple room, one posted in their photo gallery and it was great, exactly as you see it, no photo tricks. Combination of the cave room and furniture in it makes you feel in a very special place to remember . You can also play one of the lots of CD`s to share for guests in your room so the athmosphere can be very relaxing.
Just be aware that there is nothing to do in the afternoons as all excursions end at around 18:00 hrs . Nearby town is quite small and there is not so much to see except for a few stores that sell carpets, souvenirs or local sweets so you can have a look at it in less than an hour. Only thing I complain about is that there are no TV`s in rooms so you have to go to the hotel living room where there is one to share with everybody else. That means that if you are not a reader kind of person, early evenings can be a little boring, in particular for youngsters.

I recently stayed at the Yunak Evleri for 2 nights with family. We enjoyed the hotel very much overall. It's located high up on a hill in Urgup and has dazzling views of the valleys below. The hotel has rooms on multiple levels, but be warned that the rooms on the higher levels have great views but require climbing lots of steps to reach. We had requested and received rooms on a lower level, as my mom has difficulty climbing steps. They gave us 3 rooms (127, 128 and 129) on a lower level. The best part was, these rooms have a private courtyard that is accessed only by having a key. So for our family, it was great, totally private. The rooms were great - mine had an entrance foyer, on the right was the bathroom (large and modern) and there were steps going down to a kind of secondary living/sleeping area with a single bed and a sofa. There were also steps going up to the main living/sleeping area that had the bed (large brass bed, very comfortable mattress), armoire for clothes, second armoire for CD player and minibar, desk, etc. Very large and comfortable, all the rooms were like that. Despite it being hot outside during the day, the tufa rock out of which the rooms are carved kept the rooms nice and cool, and it was even a tad chilly at night. The service was exceptional, and all the staff and manager tried to ensure we were well looked after. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace - one gripe is that the food (including tea and coffee) is kept in a separate room that is only reachable by going down and then up two flights of steps. This makes carrying tea and coffee and also food difficult. They should have a better arrangement, as this was quite inconvenient. However overall, it was a very pleasant stay. We looked at the hotel's pre-set dinner menus but passed because it was all meat-based and 2 people in our family are vegetarians. Try Ziggy's Cafe instead - it's just down the road and serves amazing meat and vegetarian dishes that are really light and totally yummy. They have a great wine and cocktail list as well. We ate there 2 nights in a row as we loved the atmosphere (rows of terraces and you can pick where you want to sit) and food so much. Cappadocia is beautiful and Yunak Eveleri seems to be the best place to stay here.

I agree with the many other reviewers praising this unusual property. It is dark and cool in the cave interiors which makes for great sleeping. There are tables, chairs and candles outside to sit back and watch the day fade away. The bathrooms are HUGE. It is easy to walk to the town (downhill) and cheap and easy to taxi back up if you don't feel like walking. Be sure to dine at Ziggy's while there!

My wife, our three daughters and I all absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful before and during our stay, answering many emails with queries about and arranging airport connections and tours and balloon ride. The town, restaurants and a beautiful hiking area were within easy walking distance. The rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable. Buffet breakfast was generous and delicious - served on a large open-air patio with which to via Cappadochia. Yunak and Cappadochia was a highlight of our Turkey adventure.

We stayed at the Yunak Evleri, a cave hotel which I'd describe as very special and a bit quirky. We were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of water, wine, soda, beer, etc. Our room was on a lower level and probably one of the less expensive rooms. This worked for us since our rate was about $120 including breakfast. Being on a lower level saved us climbing to higher levels, which people staying in higher-up rooms have to do. Breakfast on the terrace afforded the most beautiful views of a fairyland vista. Wasn't the best hotel breakfast we had, but the view made up for that. Room had tall candles providing romantic lighting, but dim lighting otherwise, and no mirror in the bedroom, just a mirror in the large, well equipped bathroom. Lovely antique furniture and CD player in the room along with safe and refrigerator. The main house contains both a music room (with CDs you can borrow for your room) and a computer room, with 2 laptops available 24 hours/day free of charge. Some will like, and others won't, the fact that music, usually classical, is piped out of the building in the mornings and evenings. Throughout the day we heard roosters, sparrows and swallows, and enjoyed them singing and flitting about as we sat outside our room taking in the magnificent landscape. Guidebooks describe the walk from Yunak into town as very steep, but we found it okay, as long as we stopped a couple of times on our way back (we are 60+). Highly recommended. I would say that anyone who has difficulty walking may have some problems walking on the cobblestone paths, and climbing rather steep steps. A fixed price dinner is offered at Yunak -- we ate there one night and enjoyed the magnificent evening view with a pretty good meal.
