This is a marvelous and unique hotel; we were in room 127 and thus many stairs from where the
cart dropped us off; for those who can't manage stairs it can be daunting; but for those without
that problem (we are nearing 83) the room was magnificent-separate bedroom, lounge and bath
room and toilette; the view from the patio is marvelous; the rooms are spacious, stone work thru-
out with good wooden furniture and wood ceilings; the eating facility is also first rate-the staff and
choices very fine; some work is still being done in its devlopement and you can see how they are
building into the mountain itself. The transportation cart come for you and drops you off either at
the office or the restaurant. The staff are very helpful and attentive.

Room Tip: there appears to be 2 separate suites for each level with each sharing the patio; we went to the ca...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with another family as part of a 3 stop holiday around Turkey. It was our first trip to Turkey and we used Trip Advisor to help us select our destinations / hotels. Cappadocia is a very striking landscape and was a complete contrast to our first stop in Istanbul. We took the hotels advice on trips / transport and there are some striking things to see. The highlight was an early morning balloon flight - we were all a bit dubious but it was well worth the money and the early start ! The hotel is new and is literally built into the hillside above the town with a gym , sauna and pool. The rooms are all unique in terms of layout and size and are spacious / well fitted out / clean / comfortable. The bathrooms are in an antique / luxurious style with an old fashioned bath tub - very stylish but I would have preferred a 'normal' shower as well ! We ate at the hotel restaurant most nights and the food was excellent quality and well priced. The hotel is a very high quality and still being expanded - you are sometimes aware of construction workers, but they were quiet and unobtrusive. The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful. I imagine that this hotel will be able to charge a lot more than it does once it is completely finished and at the moment it represents excellent value for money for a high quality.

A special thanks to Mert Aksoy- concierge services. He went over and above to make our stay extra special. This hotel is a must to stay at. As everyone else has mentioned, this is definitely a unique hotel. It's up high on a rocky hill and has spectacular views. In the early mornings, you can see hot air balloons floating above the martian landscape. The hotel itself is fashioned out of really old cave homes which they have enlarged and modified accordingly. It was also built with recognition from UNESCO unlike all the other cave hotels in the area.

Aside from the view, the hotel sets itself apart by the little touches they do. When we first arrived, we had a box of Turkish delight waiting for us. The little things in the room like the free Nespresso coffees and tea were also a nice touch. When we checked out, we also received a box of coasters made of local rock with our hotel room number on it. Great touch! Nearly set our bags overweight for our next domestic flight but that really liked that personalized gift.

Note that there is no air conditioning in the room but the fan is good enough. We like sleeping under the covers and the fan will still allow you to do that. Breakfast was okay, good amount of healthy choices, just watch out for the bees which seem to really like the cold cuts for some reason..

It is very important for a property to be named "unique" by it's guests and not by itself :) We are very happy to be called this and we are joyful to read that you are %100 satisfied with your stay including our special small gifts.

If you are fortunate enough to travel to Cappodocia, I would very highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are named after the latest occupants who lived in the hillside cave dwellings decades ago. Much has been spent upgrading the dwellings to a hotel and done very tastefully. I would skip rooms with a private "cave pool" as the pool only steps away from our room has a beautiful view. We stayed in the "Kunduraci Fehmi Efendi" suite (107), with its private "very authentic" hamam. The suite even had a separate small wine tasting building with a fireplace (I imagine for colder winters) with a stunning view. The hotel manager was very courteous and helpful in giving sightseeing tips. If you do not have the courage to do the hot air balloon rides that take off from nearby Goreme, the next best thing is to wake up early (~7:30AM) and watch the dozens of air ballons rise up in the air and drift right over the hotel. This is an amazing place to stay.

Room Tip: Room 107 - Kunduraci Fehmi Efendi House. Very spacious, close to parking and pool, beautiful views...

A great location, and the "rooms" are amazing. They are more like a small house, with private courtyards. The bathroom was bigger than most hotel rooms, and the private hammam was a great added touch.

Breakfast was quite good and the food in the restaurant was outstanding as well. Staff were helpful and kind. Pool is nice, and the views are great.

A great place to come back to at the end of the day. Worth every cent.

We recently visited the Kayakapi Premium Caves hotel as two families, both families with grown-up daughters (aged 18 and 20). The rooms of this hotel have been created by restoring and updating original cave dwellings. None of us were quite sure whether staying in a "cave" would actually be desirable so we approached the hotel with some trepidation. The first impression for all of us as we drove up the access road to the hotel was "Wow" - the hotel rooms are built into the stone of a soft rock of a volcanic hill overlooking Urgup and the some stunning landscapes of Cappadocia. We were shown to our rooms, the parents having standard rooms whist the daughters were treated to a junior suite. The girls were immediately on the phone from their room excitedly telling us how amazing their suite was. In addition to a bedroom and living room they had an anteroom and a sauna room/bathroom; they were certainly very impressed. The standard rooms, whilst lacking the sauna and anteroom were really spacious and very well furnished and decorated. A complimemtary box of delicious Turkish Delight was provided in each room. The fabrics used in the cushion covers and bedspread were beautiful and gave the rooms a very classy and traditional feel. One got the impression that local tradition and heritage are very important drivers in defining the design and decoration of the rooms. Two of the rooms we were allocated were derived from actual caves and thus didn't have air conditioning - we were told that the cave temperatures very rarely fluctuate so air-con is not necessary. Certainly, there were no complaints about the temperature of these rooms from the occupants. Our bedroom looked like a mainly new build extension to an existing cave and did have air-con. Again, no complaints about the comfort of the room. The rooms were all spacious and well maintained. The bathrooms were large and luxurious and there was plenty of storage space. The only minor quibble was that in the two standard rooms there was a hand-held shower attached to the bath rather than a shower room. Other facilities in the hotel included a smallish but well maintained pool surrounded by adequate chairs, loungers and parassols all with a commanding view of Urgup. We used the small fitness centre, which was basic but adequate and there was also a spa, hamam and massage rooms but we did not use these. Breakfasts were well presented and offered a good variety of choices and the chef was happy to cook eggs to your individual specification. The breakfast room also doubled as the restaurant in the evening. We found the restaurant food to be of very good quality and quite reasonably priced. Three of our party were vegetarian and we were more than adequately catered for; the mushroom risotto was well cooked and very tasty. The staff were plentiful and all very hepful and accomodating. We organised a ballon trip via the hotel and also a private taxi tour of Cappadocia (Goreme open-air museum, the fairy chimneys Avalos pottery, etc) - both worked out very well. We ventured into Urgup on a couple of occasions and this small town has a number of shops and restaurants to visit. The hotel offers a free shuttle into Urgup and a taxi fare back to the hotel was about 9 Turkish Lira.

We were delighted with our choice of this hotel and can throroughly recommend it. The cost of our stay represented exceptional value considering the quality of the hotel and it's facilities. It provided an opportunity to stay in a reasonably unique setting which blends the traditional with the modern. In that context, we were presented with a gift, upon leaving, of a stone plaque which represented the one on the wall outside each of our rooms. Apparently, the names on the plaques relate to the people who previously inhabited the actual caves - a nice touch.
