“Excellent hotel experience”

We had a fantastic experience at Kayakapi - the restoration is spectacular! The suites are extremely spacious, beautifully designed with all amenities including adapters, iPhone5 docks and nespresso machines :). The staff are extremely accommodating and very efficient. I would not think twice about staying here. Used Royal Balloons, their sister company for our balloon ride and this was also fantastic. Whirling dervish show at Saruhan was memorable.
Swimming pool has a small wading area for younger children.
Cave hotel is a must-do if you're visiting Cappadocia. The view from Kayakapi is breathtaking!

Room Tip: Website pictures are very helpful - look at these and choose a room based on your requirements. All...

My friend and I are experienced travelers and took extensive to review area hotels prior to booking Kayakapi. It was well worth our research; the Kayakapi did not disappoint! The rooms are genuine caves (some of the other hotels are not). The hotel was recently constructed in the past year or two, I can't recall. The bathroom was incredible. We booked the cheapest room and it was like a suite! It had our own patio with chairs, table, and an umbrella. The room comes with complimentary Turkish Delight and wine! There is also another treat upon check-out. The only possible downside (which wouldn't deter me at all) is that you cannot walk into town from this hotel as it is on a steep mountain. The staff will shuttle you in a golf cart with your luggage or to dinner at the hotel restaurant, etc. Our room was very clean! I would recommend this to anyone!

Room Tip: We booked the cheapest room and it felt like a suite!

Dear Bella;

Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor regarding your latest stay at Kayakapi Premium Caves - Cappadocia.

Although you stayed in our Prime Rooms which is considered to be a Standard Room it holds much higher quality in respect to other hotels in the area. And you are right about the cave rooms, most hotels do not give their guests a cave room although it is advertised that way.

We are really happy that you have enjoyed your stay and we wish you all the best and hope to host you again in the near future maybe in our suites? :)

Best Wishes to Philadelphia.

Yours Sincerely;

The hotel has an amazing story, it is on the side of a mountain and currently a major restoration project uncovering all of the old caves and restoring them and creating an amazing cave hotel, each cave room is named after the traditional family that built it.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, we had a cave that had 2 bedrooms and a spa bath, the room was absolutely outstanding, a fabulous cave stay in style. The pool is on the the side of the mountain with spectacular views of the mountains and there is a Turkish bath and massage centre on site. The service is first class, they really would do anything for you, the private tour they arranged, transport and balloon ride all were great and went off without a hitch.

The location is a little away from town if your looking for something central but there is a shuttle bus from the hotel is not really an issue. The food is ok but I would consider average for Turkey, they are catering for lots of different tastes but would have liked to see more traditional Turkish Cuisine on the menu.

Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, from 5 star travellers to those looking for a premium stay in their Turkey holiday.

Its hard to explain the experience of staying in this hotel. Everything was just PERFECT!
The room is superb, the service, the amenities, the pool, the view and of course... the ROOMS! Ohhh the Rooms are something special.
Do a little research about the history of this hotel; to read why this is the BEST of the BEST in this area.

Briefly,

1. Argues travel & tourism organized our honeymoon and booked 2 nights in standard room + 1 night in the royal suit and swimming pool. Instead of the swimming pool we get the family royal suit even though the hotel was informed that it was our honeymoon !! When I said it is a stupid mistake the manager got so offended even after holding Argues responsible and he charged them the suit price even though we stayed in our standard room !!

2. I left my iphone in the bathrobe in the morning prior to check out. Because we had a connecting flight to Antalya, we contacted Argues to contact the hotel manager at 03:30 afternoon, management replied that they do not have the phone because their staff cleaners said so !! When i tried to proof to them that my wife and I are sure it was in the bathrobe the manager said "People have forgotten money, jewellery, diamonds inside their rooms and no one has ever assaulted us with this kind of aggressive behavior." Seriously Mr. Yakup?? So guests have to forget easily anything they leave behind in your majestic hotel and not talk about it?? So you do not get offended? Btw, he claimed that I offended his religion even though it is my religion too. I respect all religions not only my (or your) religion Mr. Yakup !!

3. Rooms were full of spiders and the hotel yards were full of honey bees which wont leave you alone if you have any fruit based perfume on.

4. The hotel is not suitable for people with special needs or people who are not fit enough to climb many stairs in order to go to the restaurant for inclusive breakfast.

Dear TA Readers;

This review is not reflecting what the situation really is, you can find our answers below:

1- The travel agency mentioned on the review (Argeus Travel) which organised this persons travel itinerary booked our hotel for 3 nights. 2 nights at Prime Room + 1 night at Royal Cave Suite. The booking was made accordingly by us. On the 3rd day the guest came to the reception for the room change and we took them to their Royal Cave Suite. The client said that they had booked for a Royal Cave & POOL Suite. We said that we have the booking for a Royal Cave Suite which is without a pool. The client said that if there is no pool inside the room they do not want to change. And as all the Pool Suites including the Majestic Cave Suites were occupied the person continued to stay in his room.

The voucher given to this person by his travel agency (Argeus Travel) says: Royal Cave Suite, We were informed by the Travel Agency it was a Royal Cave Suite. The agency accepts that the hotel has no fault in this matter, why should the hotel be blamed on this matter?

2- The person insisted that they left their mobile phone in the room inside their bathrobe after they had checked out from the hotel. Our housekeeping and security staff did a detailed search in the room and in the laundry but unfortunately the phone was not found. The client was informed that it was not found and he wrote to us that we are thieves.

*** Most Important *** As he said that we are thieves of course we got offended. He wrote to us that “Finally, honesty of staff reflects honesty of the hotel managers and hotel owners”. On his review he is clearly attacking our GM's personality (Mr. Yakup), trying to show him as a person who only likes Muslim people in regard to the other religions. Which clearly is a big lie.

3- If there was a lot of spiders in his room why did he insist on staying in this room? Can someone stay in a room full of spiders for 3 days?

4- For all of guests who does not want to walk and this included going to the breakfast hall we have electrical golf carts for their use.

And a final note, on the 1st mail this person wrote to us he wrote:
“Finally, i really do not want my memories of the Kayakapi premium caves to be lost because someone found and decided to keep my old cheap iphone”

So he does have nice memories from Kayakapi.

Thank You for your concern.

Yours;

Quick email communication. Excellent staff services, friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the history of urgup and rehabilitation of the caves. Excellent English. Sweetest gifts on arrival and departure. Super detailed oriented which was very reassuring. Vintage, Sultan like rooms with modern amenities and A/C. Glamourous turkish bath. Beautiful pool. Delicious breakfast spread. Amazing social media person. Hilltop rooms. Convenient private transportation. Everything is brand spankin' new. Great affiliation with royal balloons, then had breakfast, and spent a good chunk of our day at Kayakapi hanging poolside. Then went to goreme for pide (turkish pizza) late afternoon and shopped around until dinner time which Kayakapi was so nice to help call for reservations. 110% recommend Kayakapi to anyone. UNESCO and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC! :) Next time for the extra fancy fancy stay, I think we'll splurge more and get the cave rooms with a pool inside.

Room Tip: Room 121 was a King Bed, ground floor, with some 3 steps downstairs to the amazing bathrooms with a...
