“The best hotel i have ever stayed in my life”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Sacred house is an amazing place full of antiques and we were stunned by their architecture the moment i entered in..it just takes you to an entirely different world, the ancient roman style.loved te angels concept that they use for their rooms.each of their rooms are decorated with a different concept,we stayed at the Old Chapel and it was cool.their relations manager Elvan, was very helpful in making arrangements for us to get around the place. She was very warm in welcoming us and helped with booking the hot air balloon the next morning and she arranged us for our trip around. Elvan is really a treasure for Sacred house.the soothing music at the hotel, the helpful staff, everybody made our honeymoon a special one. And their complimentary breakfast was delicious.never had such a special one. Looking forward to come back and stay in one of their special suites under construction. Love sacred house...

Amazing mansion, full of antiques. Completely gothic and extremely original. Ask to see some of the rooms, each one a surprise. Be ready to be treated like a king... And be sure you are hungry for breakfast. Staff is súper nice. Elvan, the guest manager is super and will ensure your stay is an experience. Even the music matches!
Dont miss the rooftop terrace and the winter garden. Spa to be opened sept this year...Deccoration is INferno!!! I would love to go back!

If ever there was a hotel whose service far exceeded our expectations, this would be it. First, we were greeted by Elvan who offered us a glass of wine and some treats. She is a charming conversationalist, who worked tirelessly at making sure our every need was met. The other members of the staff exhibited similar professionalism in guest relations. Our impression was that they had been well trained. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the town center where there are a number of interesting restaurants and shops. The facility itself is being expanded and remodeled, and it is evident that substantial sums are being invested. At no time were we disturbed by the construction. However, it is apparent that the owner is more concerned about form over function. An example is that there is no television in the room and so you would expect there would be a couple of comfortable chairs in which you could read a book and that there would be a good reading lamp. Not so. Also, there was a circular roman tub (which could easily fit 4 people), but it was virtually impossible to take a shower standing up. In summary, I would recommend staying at this hotel, and hopefully the owners will think more about function and less about quirky interior design.

I stayed in the artfully decorated, jaw-droppingly beautifully Sacred House for three nights in June - and spent each night in a different room. The owner has a vision for the hotel that is truly extraordinary, blending mystical themes, antique decorations and modern comfort into a boutique hotel experience that can only be described as fantasy come to life. It is luxurious but it is also slightly warped, walking an incredible line between the sublime and the sinister.

I spent the first night in the Deep Forest room, with a beatific angel standing over the bed and the gnarled face of a wood spirit hanging on the dark green wall. On the second night, I slept in the Old Chapel, a deep red room filled with sacred hearts and votive candles, lush bedding and heavy wooden furniture. With it's carvernous bathroom and huge circular bathtub, surrounded in marble tiles, this was easily my favourite. I finished my stay in the Full Moon room, where the front door opens onto an opulent ensuite and a stairway leads down to the vaulted-roof bedroom below.

The warm, accommodating guest liaison, Elvan, took me on a tour of the rest of the hotel, with it's vast, lavish signature suites and still-unfinished rooms. Each one was unique, magnificent, strange. Still under construction - but opening in Sept apparently - the underground hamam is beyond words. Freshly tiled in deep red tiles, the pool sits 29 metres below the courtyard well, a shaft of light dropping on this cruxiform bath like an escaped beam from heaven, shining down on hell (which is exactly the effect they're going for). I will be back when the hamam is completed.

The staff is professional, friendly and eager to please, and the food is simply the best I have eaten in Turkey. Honestly, the breakfast is amazing and dinner is even better. I realise this sounds like paid advertising but it isn't. I do have one criticism: the mattresses are very hard...although I haven't slept on a comfortable mattress in Turkey yet, maybe it's a cultural thing.

Room Tip: They're all incredible. The rooms downstairs do not have reliable wifi access but you can use it...

If you want to experience how it was to be a king or queen, stay at the Sacred House. Not only the place reminds you of a palace, the staff treats you like royalty. We were there 5 days after their soft opening so we got a chance to tour many of the rooms. The creativity that went into each room is impressive. The spa (Inferno) was still under construction when we were there but what we saw even under construction was amazing. I was also recommended to stay at Argos. But after seeing the Sacred House and experiencing the incredible service from the staff, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else next time I go to Cappadocia.

We went for dinner but got the grand tour including a "standard" room. There is nothing standard about this place that kept making me think we had walked into a movie set in Rome...not Hollywood. Our guide had the connection to get us in for dinner although normally they only serve their overnight guests. The table was ready for us with a dazzling display of wonderful Turkish appetizers each of which was superb. The guide had told them my wife is Armenian and they prepared a wonderful Armenian stew for the main course. The decor of the dining room is not possible to describe. The art was eclectic. The chandeliers fantastic, the icons amazing. We did not meet the owner, although we were told he was around but we imagined all sorts of possibilities given the collection of stuff he had assembled. This place has not got to be on the program if you visit Cappadocia.

Room Tip: All are unique..you have to see them to believe.
