“Amazing, Awesome and Intimate Cave Inn.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2011

This Place is Nothing Short of Amazing and Awesome.

Serinn House Takes the Form of An Absolutely Amazing, Wonderful, Very Charming, Very Pleasant and Interesting Cave Inn. This Place is Outstanding in Every Respect and We Were Very Happy to Have Stayed Here. This Proved to Be An Excellent Choice for Our Stay in Cappadocia.

The Owner, Erin, Is Very, Very Nice, Very Pleasant and Accommodating, Always Available to Help and Assist if Needed and Has An Exceptional Facility.

There is a Beautiful, Spacious Courtyard Upon Entering the Property. There is A Set Of Stairs Which Leads Up to The Upstairs Eating Area Which Was An Excellent Spot For Breakfast, Relaxing and Taking in the Wonderful Atmosphere of Cappadocia.

The Room Was Great-Very Spacious, Comfortable, Private and Intimate. No TV in the Room, Which Was Nice. Modern, Cool, Very Roomy Bathroom. There Were Several Windows Which Opened Up to A Beautiful View of the Countryside and Surrounding Area; Lots of Meadows and Beautiful Mountains In the Distance.

Breakfast Was Served Daily Which Was Ample and Very Adequate. Breakfast is Included in the Room Rate, which is Good. All Offerings are Fresh, Well Prepared and Very Tasty. Our Guide Met Us Daily and Promptly at the Entrance of Serrin House.

Serrin House is located just above a Small Hill from the town. It is a Very Pleasant and Safe Walk Down the Hill Into Town. There Are A Number of Interesting Restaurants That We Tried Along the Way Which Were Excellent As Well. Great Service, Excellent Food, Amazing Views. There is Very Little, If Any, Traffic or Noise. Very Safe.

This is An Excellent, Outstanding Choice for a Stay in Cappadocia. Serinn House is Very Pleasant, Warm, Welcoming and Peaceful. An Outstanding Experience.

Highly Recommend. Would be Very Happy to Stay at Serinn House Again.

Room Tip: Ask For A Larger Room, Anywhere Would be Great, Very Acceptable.

We had a great experience at Serinn House, which made our time in Urgup all the more relaxing and memorable. We spent 4 nights here as part of our honeymoon, staying in the room above the courtyard. The accommodation is made up of a handful of rooms built around a courtyard (not all of which are strictly cave rooms); all with raw stone walls, minimally and tastefully fitted.

We had made contact with Erin via her website and pre-arranged tours and a balloon trip prior to our stay. All her advice regarding the tours was good, and we found that they were fairly priced and very well organized (I recommend the Blue Tour). Erin’s hospitality made our whole stay effortless and thoroughly enjoyable.

In the late afternoon, the courtyard is the perfect place for a glass of wine to rest off the morning explorations. And a 10 minute walk down (a fairly steep hill) to the main town will get you a few nice restaurants and a great Turkish bath experience. The way back up is probably best by taxi.

Breakfast is as everyone here has raved about.

We loved our stay there, and would be happy to go back and stay again.

The nice thing about planning a trip yourself to Turkey is that you can establish email relationships with proprietors of the places you are going to stay. We chose Serinn House for 2 nights, based on TA reviews, and it was great. Eren sent information via email about touring options, and we were able to arrange for a van and driver for our group of 5, which we used for 2 days to tour Cappadocia. The accommodations at Serinn House were excellent. The cave rooms were spacious, clean and had a window. Beds were appropriately firm. The real treat of the property is sitting up on the terrace having a class of wine in the early evening, as the light show plays across the sky and landscape. And the breakfast! Wow! Eren takes her food prep seriously. Give yourself time (before you run off to tour) to enjoy the excellent dishes and baked goods that she prepares each day, to go along with the standard, and very fresh, Turkish breakfast delicacies.

Room Tip: There might be one or two rooms that have scenic views - ask ahead.

My husband and really enjoyed our time in Cappadocia and Serrin House proved to be an excellent choice for lodging. The owner, Erin, met was waiting for us outside the entrance and warmly greeted us. Entering the Inn, there is a good size courtyard with 2 sets of stairs on the far right and far left. The latter led to our room, which was the largest and very comfortable. There were a few large windows, two of which opened up to the front alley and provided nice view of the meadows and mountains in the distance. Our room was very spacious and thankfully, there is no TV in rooms. The bathroom was modern and of good size. There were 3 rooms on the courtyard level and the second stair case leads up to the breakfast room which offers nice views over surrounding area. Breakfasts are included in room rate and although, there are not a whole lot of choices, what is offered is fresh and tasty. Our requests for hiring a local guide and restaurant suggestions were promptly taken care of. Serrin House is located just above a small hill from the town. There are no traffic (or any) noises.
If you are looking to stay in an informal and peaceful place while being close to major tourist sites in Cappadocia, Serrin House is a great choice.

Room Tip: Ask for the largest room (ours) which is the only room above the courtyard. Slightly more expensive...

Erin is remarkable and manages to make you feel welcome and pampered without being overbearing or pretentious. She is simply there to help make you happy and enjoy her beautiful Cave Inn and the surrounding area. She thought of everything and anticipated what we might need. The food is scrumptous, and Findik (the dog) and Fistik (the kitten) are adorable. Highly recommend this place.

Serinn House is not just a hotel - it's a wonderful, memorable experience. We had an unforgettable four nights in this special place and we're so sad when the time came to leave. Eren Serpen has created a beautiful and peaceful oasis in the middle of an amazing landscape. Her warm and friendly personality and professional but extremely welcoming team looked after us so well, that we felt we were one of the family not hotel guests.

We absolutely loved our breakfast served on the terrace and whilst enjoying the view we found the relaxed atmosphere teamed with Serinn House's wonderful home baked daily breakfast treats, meant we enjoyed sharing ideas and the previous day's activities with the other guests. The whole experience was unforgettable and as it was the half way point of our three month driving trip we couldn't have wished for more!

A very big thank you to Eren and her wonderful team - we'll miss you all.

Erin, the owner of Serin House, is the most gracious host one can imagine. She treats all of her guests as if they were old friends. The property is beautiful. We stayed in room 1- which was outstanding. In addition, her breakfasts on the upper veranda, overlooking the courtyard, neighboring cave hotels/houses, as well as many rock formations in the distance, was wonderful. This includes her own baked goods. Her staff was as pleasant as she. The location was ideal to walk to restaurants in Urgup for dinners. We highly recommend her cave house!
