We visited Cappadocia for our honeymoon and were so thrilled we were able to get a reservation at Serinn. We were booked into one of the cave rooms, and the owner - Eren - kindly upgraded us to a larger room as a gift! Any of the rooms would have been incredible to stay in, though. The place is incredible, peaceful and beautifully decorated. With just a few rooms, we met many of the guests and it really felt like a small family. Eren and the whole staff there were amazingly helpful, going above and beyond to help arrange our stay, and make us feel comfortable from the moment we emailed our reservation inquiry. The breakfast at Serinn was another highlight: Eren wakes up super early to bake some delicious treat each morning to add to all the other fresh goodies that are put out for the guests each morning. We could not recommend Serinn more and really appreciate all that Eren did to make our stay there the best it could be!

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Serinn House in Urgup (Cappadocia region). Although Serinn had received an abundance of positive reviews from noteworthy publications, we still exhaustively researched hotels in the region -- but we kept coming back to Serinn.

The owner of Serinn, Eren, arranged for our transport from the airport, two days worth of fantastic tours, and the highlight of our trip to Turkey -- the pre-dawn hot air balloon ride. When I asked her opinion of two restaurants I read about, she gave an honest review and offered to make the reservations for me. And while confirming our flight information, Eren noticed that I had incorrectly booked a flight for the wrong date. I was able to re-book the flight at no additional cost - all thanks to Eren's close attention to detail.

Upon checking in, Eren's staff took our bags to our room (a larger/upgraded room for our first night) and we were greeted by her two wonderful dogs, Findik (Turkish word for hazelnut) and Lilly. I'll spare the reader the details the rest of the trip, but will say the following: 1) we didn't rent a car, but Eren's staff drove us two/from restaurants at our request for no charge (we did tip, of course); 2) We enjoyed our made-to-order breakfasts on the terrace at the hotel both mornings we were at the hotel; 3) both the tour company and balloon company Eren booked us through were FIRST-CLASS (and vouched for by every travel guide we constuled); 4) hotel is a stone's throw away from very decent winery that offers reasonably priced tastings. Grab a bottle and enjoy a view of the sunset from Serinn's terrace!

All in all, Eren (and the Serinn House) truly made our trip to Cappadocia. There might be more expensive hotels, but none can compete with Serinn's hospitality, proximity, and value. The experience Eren and her staff provide is unmatched.

Serinn House is a modern-meets-stone-age, tranquil gem of a place in Urgup in the Cappadocia area. If this is what you are looking for in a trip to the interior of Turkey, look no further. Serinn House is a haven from the bustle of the downtown area (which really is nothing compared to Istakal and the rest of Istanbul) of Urgup and offers a breathtaking view of the valley. Don’t miss an early rise to see the sun rise up above the thousands of other cave homes.

Eren is there to take good care of you. Upon our arrival, she personally greeted us and took us to our cave room – a brilliantly designed space that was built out of the ancient caves but transformed with European contemporary furniture to fuse a fascinating space that compares to nowhere else. After a 15-minute rest, she suggested we take a hike and arranged transportation and set a pick-up time without us even having time to ask a question. Once we were back, she again greeted us and genuinely asked if we enjoyed our hike, and promptly gave us recommendations for dinner spots.

The cave room itself was a treat to live in and call our home for three nights. The first room was a living space, with a loveseat and ottomans from Spain, colored in bright purples, creams, and yellows, with some faux rabbit fur rugs on the stone floor. Eren has given thought to the decorations with simple yet 21st century era ceiling mobiles and my favorite, lavender-scented toiletries. Separating the living room from the bedroom is a linen curtain, to allow for some light to come in while maintain privacy. The bed was uber comfortable with reading lights on each side. Further down is the bathroom – one that reminded me of one that I might find in a celebrity’s house in Malibu, California. The shower was set furthest down with just a clear, glass panel separating it from the toilet. The sleek, modern finish against the cave walls made for a treat to shower every morning/night.

Not to be missed is the breakfast, of which is a spread of dried figs, Turkish apricots, fresh honeycomb, cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and homemade bread with a selection of jams and preserves to choose from. Arzu, one of the assistants, made us scrambled eggs each morning and a Turkish traditional cheese pastry. Don’t miss the freshly squeezed orange juice either.

Serinn House is more tucked away up in the hills of Urgup, but it has already gained renown from across the globe. Don’t waste any time, book your room today so you can also discover this wonderful woman and beauty of a home-away-from-home. Eren is the reason why this place is a gem among the hundreds of other cave hotels that seem to tower above everyone and everything. We mentioned in passing that we were on our honeymoon, and the next morning, she gave us a card congratulating us and included two clay birds as gifts.

The best thing about Serinn House is the people who run it. Eren, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about Cappadocia and many other areas of Turkey. She has books to loan you and opinions you can trust, and her English is wonderful.

The other staff -- Cem who speaks some English and two women who speak almost no English -- could not be nicer.

While there are other cave hotels that may just as well situated and just as interesting, it's hard to imagine a better owner that Eren.

A group of 4 of us stayed for 2 nights in August and had a wonderful, wonderful time. The hotel is lovely, inviting and relaxed. The rooms were very comfortable, but best of all are the staff. Eren and her team made us feel very welcome. On our first night, a late arrival, they called to make us last minute dinner reservations and then drove us there. The next night they booked our dinner and whirling dervish visit and again, drove us there and back. Eren also booked our tour of the area and our hot air balloon ride. The service is absolutely excellent, the breakfasts are wonderful and the hospitality are unbeatable. Combine all this with the fact that you can walk into Urgup and it's a fantastic place to stay.
