This is a unique place and the owners Arzu & Muammer are the most amazing hosts - warm, welcoming and full of energy and charm! We arrived late at night and they immediately made us feel at home, we were shown to our beautiful room and got served some tea on the charming restaurant terrace.

The hotel is so unique in its setting and decoration - spread on few levels, consisting of 8 wonderful rooms, each carrying a spiritual name (ours was "Eternity"), covered with beautiful flowers, with many relaxing corners with hammocks or garden beds for reading and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The food is so fresh & delicious, cooked by Arzu each day and Muammer enjoys giving their guests some ideas on how to combine the delicacies from the breakfast buffet, in traditional Turkish style - the mix of cream, honey & dried mulberries, spread on freshly baked bread was a most mouth-watering treat!

All this, combined with the immaculate service, comfortable, spotless rooms, all the invaluable ideas and help on how to spend our time in the area, the warm welcome and send-off, made our short road trip to Cappadocia a most special experience - THANK YOU Arzu & Muammer for a wonderful stay at your 'House of Angels' :)!!

Room Tip: For a longer stay, choose a room on the upper levels so you can enjoy the light and the views.

We stayed at Melekler Evi in June '14 and we picked it based on the previous reviews left by the guests. The reviews did not do justice to this gem in Urgup. Arzu and Muammer were fantastic hosts and insisted us on treating the hotel as a second home, and we did really feel they meant it. The hotel is very well designed and maintained and is close to the Urgup town center. The food and the conversation over breakfast were great. For all the activities or tours including the balloon ride, we got advise from Muammer and he made all the reservations for us as well. We had a great time in Cappadoccia and a big reason for that was our stay at Melekler Evi. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and hope to stay here next time we visit cappadocia.

Beautiful flower gardens, dining terrace, and comfy room. It is so romantic for couples. The couple who ran it, the chef, and Capkin (resident retriever), were so accommodating and helpful. You can easily chill out on the premises or venture out to do tours of beautiful region. Definitely if return to Urgup, would stay here. A home away from home

Charming hotel, great location, delicious meals, and friendly owners Arzu and Muammar. What's not to love in Meleklerevi!
We had a lovely time in Cappadocia thanks in large part to the hospitality of Arzu and Muammer who arranged everything from day trips to balloon rides to an automatic rental car ( one of the two available in Urgup!). We will remember the delicious meal that Arzu cooked for us and the dish with dried mulberry, honey and cream that Muammer brought for us at breakfast the first day. I dream of it!

Room Tip: We had the room named Delight, which was delightful. The bathroom with its rain shower and jets was...

The Melekler Evi (Angle House) hotel is beautifully designed and decorated. It is short walk to central Urgup, and a great base location for visiting Cappadocia. The owners, Arzu and Muammar, are delightful, well educated, charming people. Cem eagerly performs multiple tasks such as bell hop, bar tender, server, door man, etc with enthusiasm.

The staff is helpful in arranging local tours and transfers, as well as a good source for recommendations for restaurants. They can arrange hot air balloon trips for you.

Each room is unique and spacious. There is a rooftop patio, and both indoor and outdoor dining. The food is top notch. I whole heartedly recommend this small cave hotel.

Room Tip: Lower level rooms mean fewer stairs.

The owners of the Meleklerevi ("House of Angels"), Arzu and Muammar, are great hosts. Consider yourselves lucky if you can eat dinner there, cooked by Arzu. Perhaps the best food we'd had in Turkey. Chem, their factotum, lays out a wonderful breakfast, and on request makes a terrific omelette. Dinners are not served every day, only if there is a critical mass of guests who make a request (if you want dinner, let them know in the morning). The last day we were there, no one requested dinner, but Arzu nonetheless offered to make us a "small supper," which turned out (in our opinion) to be a large supper. And although breakfast did not begin until 8:30, Chem offered to cook us an omelette at 6 am to accommodate our early morning flight. Why 4 stars? The hotel, interesting as it is, is on several levels, reachable by climbing stairs. Up and down. Not recommended for people with problems with stairs.

The cave hotel is a unique experience, we were made to feel so at home and nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and well provisioned and the food excellent. We could relax in the lounge/dining area or on the terrace and Arzu and Muammer treated us more like friends than customers (until we got the bill of course). The only downside is that the rooms are spread around a courtyard on several levels so we had two flights of stone steps outside between us and the dining room but the weather was good so it wasn't a problem and is, in fact, part of the charm of the place.

Room Tip: How many stairs can you climb.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
From the first beating of Angel Wings...The first time we saw this land of beautiful horses, Cappadocia, and its magical fairy chimneys, we knew we had to leave our own mark on this land that has been home to different civilizations for centuries. In Cappadocia nothing is as it seems. We lived this with each throw of the axe and with each stone that we lifted from the soil. As we removed hundreds of cubic meters of dirt from the garden and from the top of the main building, we discovered the remainders of centuries past. ... more   less
