Straight away we were made to feel at home in this magical place. The owners were more that helpful with information on the area, sorting out car hire and balloon rides etc. Our room was beautifully thought out and very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful . We were even taken on a amazing hike with the owner and his dog.
We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone....enjoy

We spent there four nights and we were amazed by the hospitality of the owners. They were helpfull to everything from giving directions,to visit the sightseeings, to arranging the car hire. The personnel was also very kind -they even waking up us to catch the breakfast.
The rooms, the garden and every corner of the hotel are very well decorated. The owner who happens to be an architech has given an extra attention to every place of the hotel.
For the animal lovers there is also the most lovely dog you have ever met!!
All was great as well as Cappadocia!!!
We promised that we will return!

A true boutique luxury hotel where every detail is carefully considered. The building around a small courtyard with views out across the valley is exquisite in plan and detail. There is an authentic local feel to the design and architecture that is hard to find elsewhere. The hosts Arzu and Muammer are charming and welcoming. They provide a relaxed comfortable and personal experience that larger establishments can never achieve. The food was quite simply the best we had anywhere in our three weeks in Turkey. This isn't the cheapest hotel but iti si by far the best. It is hidden away on a back street but is worth the effort to find.

This hotel is beautifully made with attention to detail.
The rooms are beautiful, the owners are beautiful, their kids are beautiful.
They provide a very personalized experience and it does not feel like staying in a "hotel".

We spent two nights at this boutique hotel on our honeymoon and everything was perfect. Arzu & Muammer (the owners) did everything they could to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They organised our day tours and balloon ride (and woke up at 4.30am to wake us up to make sure we didnt miss the trip). The room was superb and breakfast was brilliant. Excellent location, a 5 minute walk down the hill to Urgup town.

We wished to bicycle Cappadocia for 6 days, were interested in staying a cave hotel, and wanted Internet, a central location, and helpful staff. Meleklerevi Hotel provided all this – and more.

We did our research over the internet and booked by sending an email using the available form. We received a quick and satisfying response. In subsequent emails they went above and beyond with pictures and diagrams to help us choose a prime room for our seven night stay.

The owners -- Arzu & Muammer -- had helpful maps, good tips, and were always looking to assist us with something. When asked, they were happy to arrange tours, balloon rides, jeep safaris, evening shows, etc. The entire staff – including Arzu & Muammer – made a personal connection with us, knew our names and tastes, and at times anticipated our needs. Meleklerevi set a new standard for the word “welcome”.

Everyone’s English was a bit rough and our Turkish was non-existent so communication was somewhat of a challenge. In the end we concluded it just added to the charm and adventure of Cappadocia.

The Meleklerevi is ¼ mile from the center of town [by GPS] and about 200 vertical feet. This is about half the distance and half the elevation of many of the other popular cave hotels. The location was a real plus when going to town for dinner. The Meleklerevi is in a Turkish residential neighborhood so when coming and going one passes by the people who live and work in Urgup. One also passes their chickens and cows and construction projects and kids playing in the street. Once inside the Meleklerevi oasis, the sights sounds and smells were left behind. For us, the local culture added to the adventure of being in a foreign country. And we were never inconvenienced or felt insecure in any way. Some might be put-off by the local culture, and if so there are plenty of other cave hotels in sterile “Disney World -ish” zones.

Our room was a genuine cave room carved out of rock and nicely appointed with modern touches and simple tasteful antique and other decorating touches. The room was extremely quiet and we noticed that neither cell phone nor wifi signal reached through the walls. The bathroom was first rate, exceptionally clean, with nice large towels, hair dryer, and the basic soap, shampoo, and such. The furnishings are simple [appropriate for a cave room]. The bed was very comfortable and night after night we slept soundly. The rooms are without TV and alarm clock, which we considered blessings while on holiday. At the entrance to our room we had a semi-private patio area.

The Meleklerevi had a fine common room where the owners build a fire and served wine every evening. Breakfast was also set up in the common room; after helping one’s self most guests went to a nearby breakfast patio to enjoy the scenery and morning sun. Breakfasts were wonderful with lots of variety [fruit, eggs, cheese, juice, coffee, tea, bread]. The food seemed quite fresh – even the special nuts, berries, and fruits that the owners themselves grow and dry/preserve. We drank tap water without problem.

If one approaches Cappadocia with a spirit of adventure and is interested in more than a motor coach tour and does not expect numerous on-premises activity ‘ala all-inclusive’, then Meleklerevi is an excellent choice for lodging. And the hospitality will not disappoint.

We stayed at the Melekler Evi for 2 nights in May 2010. It was our honeymoon and this beautifully designed cave hotel had romantic lighting, state of the art stereo system and a bathroom fully appointed with the latest features. The inn keepers left us wine and snacks to celebrate our wedding and the breakfast on the terrace was excellent and offered beautiful beautiful views. The architect who designed this hotel and his wife, an interior designer were attentive to all the details of this area's history, using original materials where ever possible. The inn keepers were most hospitable and welcoming. It is a short walk to the Center City along cobblestoned streets. The town is not all tourist focussed and gives you a real flavor of how people live. The restaurants in town including those recommended by our host were outstanding. Absolutely an unforgettable experience.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
From the first beating of Angel Wings...The first time we saw this land of beautiful horses, Cappadocia, and its magical fairy chimneys, we knew we had to leave our own mark on this land that has been home to different civilizations for centuries. In Cappadocia nothing is as it seems. We lived this with each throw of the axe and with each stone that we lifted from the soil. As we removed hundreds of cubic meters of dirt from the garden and from the top of the main building, we discovered the remainders of centuries past. ... more   less
