“A Museum in the European standards”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

It is one of the best museums in Turkey, I think. It is obviously worth to visit. I would suggest to read some before visiting. If you dont, they have an introductory film inside that I highly recommend!

“Pieces displayed well, but information was difficult to access”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

I loved this museum, but I have to give it only 4 stars because it was difficult to access the information about the pieces. There is only small amount of information on side placards. I would have appreciated more information about the pieces. Additionally, the print was small and the museum was crowded (on a Friday afternoon) so I had to wait in line to read several pieces.

The pieces themselves were breath-taking.

The presentation and organization of the pieces was wonderful. You can stand right next to some of them!!! For many of the visitors, this allowed them the opportunity to touch the pieces - not sure if that was allowed or not. Additionally, they were not very strict on the no flash-photography, which can destroy frescoes.

I also would have loved a centralized point of information about the excavation of the various sites. Instead, there are very short blurbs on each information placard about the excavation.

Parts are still under construction.

“Magnificient!”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

If you are an archeology enthusiast like me, you will enjoy visiting here. You can buy a 3D intro movie that tells the history of Zeugma for 5 TL. Since it is a large museum it takes around 2-3 hours if you want to look into every detail of mosaics. Also if you search for "Zeugma" in App Store there are free apps in Turkish, English, German, French (there may be more language options) that tells you the story of all the mosaics in the museum.

“the biggest mosaic museum on the world”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

even if the large number of the mosaics still uncovered, the visible parts are magnicifent.. the museum is very well designed, easy access to see art works, no humidity problem, well prepared explanation of works.. I really suprised about the history of Gaziantep land after my visit Zeugma Museum.. dont be so excited about Gipsy Girl.. its so small but impressive..
