We spent three nights at the Met as a base to visit Izmir, Ephesus and Cesme. A very efficient and friendly service. Our room was neat and tidy, although we were at the rear of the hotel (2nd floor) and there was quite a noisy extractor fan/air conditioning unit attached to another building that meant we couldn't keep the balcony window open at night time. Breakfast choices were impressive, with plenty of fresh fruit available. The hotel does perhaps have more of a "business" feel than as a romantic destination. Overall, a high level of service, which was both professional and friendly.

This hotel was recommended to us for a brief overnight stay in Izmir.

The hotel looked new, was very clean, with friendly helpful staff.

The twin room and en suite shower were lovely, and we had a complimentary plate of fresh fruit in the fridge.

The inclusive breakfast was excellent!

(NOTE : Perfect for non-smokers, not so for those addicted to the 'weed' ,but we had patio windows and railings .......so were ok.......I would not wish to have to stand in the street to smoke!)

1 other valid point = the lighting in the bedroom is dim, no main light, or at least we didn't find one, so take your specs!

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the road

This is a fantastic value for money hotel option in central Izmir. The rooms are comfortable with the highlight being the bathroom with an excellent rain shower. The breakfast really is first-class including traditional Turkish dishes as well as Western standards and fried eggs to boot. The staff go well out of their way to ensure that your stay is comfortable and you have everything you need. The high rating the hotel has is definitely warranted. I would definitely stay again.

After reading rave reviews on Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet, I had probably expected a little more. This small hotel is located close to the train station but a good 15 minute walk from the sea shore and further from Kanak Square. The "boutique" features were just annoying for two weary travellers. There is a lack of bench space and chairs in the room and the sink in the bathroom is one of those trendy sloping sinks with no plug which makes simple tasks such as cleaning teeth and shaving impractical.
We were bemused to be asked to both fill in registration forms and were given individual wifi passwords which could only be used on one device at a time. As it was the wifi signal was erratic. And I know this is nit picky but the lobby area is paved in a strongly striped black and white marble which made me feel as if I was walking on a bar code and was about to fall or trip.
The staff seemed generally disinterested and the young man who brought the bags to our room, clearly expected a tip (we didn't have change) and was sulky with us for the rest of the stay.
A nice touch was the fruit platter on arrival.

My wife and I stayed four nights there and enjoyed it very much. The hotel looks new and is very modern. The reception, the rooms and the restaurant are all impressive. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The hotel is very central downtown Konak and real close to the Basmane train and underground station. Breakfast is average.

Room Tip: Chose rooms overlooking the main street.
