“Wanted to stay for hours.”
Reviewed 8 November 2012

I loved this museum! Unfortunately, we were on a cruise, only had one day and were on a bus tour. I was a literature teacher so this meant the world to me. I just could not stay to give each exhibit enough time. It is amazing to see the past centuries' relics and contemplate those varied lives. It really makes me realize how ''young'' America is. See this museum if possible.

“Worth visiting!”
Reviewed 24 September 2012

This museum is not very heavily attended, but it should be. I found it to be a very informative and well laid-out museum that gave me a good picture into what life was like there. They have a number of beautiful artifacts, and have displayed them in an impeccable manner. It is a great addition to seeing Ephesus, not an either/or proposition.

“Minimalist museum”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

Very little information here. Most exhibits are computer generated copies of documents and photos enlarged to create exhibits.

“If you've never seen a complete Greek bronze....”
Reviewed 15 July 2012

.....then this is the place to visit. I was absolutely astounded by the statue of the runner, complete in every detail, which is very rare in ancient Greek bronze statues. Very few have survived intact. The museum has several floors of exhibits, including household items and pottery going back 2500 years, statues, jewelry of Greek and Roman origin, and an outdoor garden filled with "the architectural debris (and I mean it in a good way) of 2500 years. I was able to even touch some of it, with no one telling me not to. It is a strange and wonderful experience to touch something made by human hands so very long ago. It's one of the finest museums I've ever visited. Well worth the time.

“Save some time for this”
Reviewed 23 June 2012

This outstanding museum is filled with statuary, ancient relics, mosaics and artifacts excavated locally. Detailed information is provided in Turkish and English, descibing what you are seeing and even giving bios on the various archeologists who are working in the area. We were there about two hours, and wished we had more time.
