Clean and spacious room, shower door didn't close properly but otherwise looked like new. Great value compared to other hotels in the area.
Average breakfast, helpful staff.
84tl for washing a bag of clothes (no ironing) was a big rip off.

After staying two nights in Selcuk, we decided to stay a night in Izmir to catch our flight to Antalya the following morning. We made our booking via booking.com as we were planning.

We stayed in a non-smoking double room on the 5th floor (approximately 12 ft by 15 ft). The room we stayed in was fitting with a 42'' Samsung LCD TV (with limited foreign satellite channels), a nice mini bar fridge, excellent furniture and rather big bathroom. For all of this, we paid approximately 127TL. This is probably the best hotel we've stayed in so far in terms of quality(we've stayed in 3 hotels in this price range in Istanbul and Selcuk.) However, the people at the counter weren't very welcoming -- they were helpful though should you have any requests.

If you want to get here from the ADB Airport, take the havas (Alsancak Route) that stops approximately 10 minutes away from this hotel.

If you want to get here from the Basmane Tren Otogar (Train Station), walk through the front gate and straight down the right side of the road that is before you (Fevzi Pasa Blv). It is the third blocks from the station.

It takes approximately 15 minutes to get to the Saat Kulesi (Izmir Clock Tower) and 20 minutes to get to Kordonboyu by foot.

To be more specific, the following are the channels.
18 Turkish Channels
2 German Channels (RTL-2, ZDF)
2 English Channels (BBC World, E2)
1 Chinese Channel (CCTV 4)
2 Greek Channels (ERT World, Vesti)
1 Russian Channel (Rustavi 2)
2 Italian Channels (Canale Italia, RAI Sport 1)
1 Spanish Channel (TVE Interna)
1 French Channel (Canal +5)

We were only in Izmir for 1 night using it as a base to see Selcuk. So we werent too choosy and went ahead with this hotel, even though it was a bit over our budget.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, 2-3 mins away from the Basmane train and bus stations. So getting to and from Selcuk/Otogar was no problem.

They were very kind in giving us the room earlier than the normal check-in time. We had arrived in Izmir on an overnight bus and so we really wanted the room to freshen up a bit.

The room was a bit cramped for 3 persons. But very neat and tidy. Breakfast was included and was good.

All in all, a good hotel but budget travelers staying longer might want to do a little more research.

Not great. AC not working in our rooms and for other guests so very hot at night for sleeping. No solution for this was found. Rooms have a perfume smell that I didn't like. Beds super hard. Staff not nearly as helpful as the ones in other hotels we stayed in on our Turkey trip. As I write this, the overhead light in my room is flashing every few minutes while we are trying to sleep. Breakfast ok. Recommend finding something else.

Currently undergoing renovations, but the hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable, the WiFi is free (but unsecured), and the price is right. Friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. Lots of nearby restaurants. The hotel is located on a busy street and the traffic noise is pretty bad during the day. Much better at night as traffic dies down.

The artwork definitely deserves a comment of it's own. I'm staying in room 702, and it has the creepiest wall-hanging EVER. A painting of two women and a featherless bird watching over the room. It's a good thing I turn off the lights and close my eyes to sleep Even the elevator interior is decorated, with two semi-nude, winged women painted on the sliding doors. Very 1980s artwork!

Teasing aside, the room is great and meets my needs. I'd want a bit more space and better soundproofing for an extended stay, but it is great for an over-night on the way to somewhere else.

The hotel was centrally located and near a lot of eateries and a train and metro station nearby. It's a 15 minute walk to the waterfront. We were also able to check out 2 days early without any trouble.

The windows weren't very good at blocking out noise and it's near a large street so that's a problem if you're a light sleeper. I think there's no English-speaker at the front desk from like 11pm-6am, which wasn't a big problem.
