“Nice Location - Good Facilities - But Is It Worth It”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2014

Spent two days here on arrival in Northern Cyrpus as we were new to the area.

At 20 Turkish Lira per person we thought it was good value for money, but as soon as we started to explore the area, we found better beaches elsewhere at a fraction of the price.

The facilities were clean (i.e. the toilets), but cigarette butts and other rubbish on the beach made me wonder how often the club cleaned the beach.

I was also surprised at how laid back the staff were at the entrance, i.e. more engrossed talking to their colleagues and playing on their iPhones etc.... which I thought was un-professional.

However, the location is great and beach is very safe for children, i.e. shallow for a long way out -with no strong currents, plus there are also many water activities at hand.

Worth a one day visit to say you've been there..... but nicer locations are around the corner at a fraction on the price. Staff should smarten up too.

“Not the best available in the area”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013

Escape beach is a pretty little bay, nice sand, sheltered shallow water to swim or paddle, and good facilities. However for the price of 20lira a person, it is the most expensive in the area by far and in my opinion, not good local value. The parasols aren't anchored securely and are unstable, even blowing down the beach becoming a hazard. Two of the hammocks in the sea are broken, both have a stake left just under the water level, creating a potential hazard to those paddling or swimming. Golden Bay and Deniz Kizi beaches are nearby in an equally pretty bay at only 5 and 10lire respectively.

“Best place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2013

We had been booked on an all day boat trip from Kyrenia Harbour, in Northern Cyprus, but while still in the harbour, the pounding music and crowded sun 'beds' made us change our minds and we jumped ship! The main reason we had got on the boat was so that two of our party could experience Paracending from the back of a boat, and these trips stop at a beach where it's available. Anyway, while getting a refund from the skipper for the boat trip we cheekily asked the name and directions to the beach....
We got back in to our car and drove 10 - 15 minutes west of Kyrenia and ended up at the Escape beach club.
For 20 Turkish Lira each,(about £6.50 ) we had access to a gorgeous sandy beach, with landscaped terraces down to the crystal clear, warm, sea. You each had a sunbed, with umbrella, use of changing rooms, clean and modern toilets, showers and car parking for however long you wanted to stay, there was no time limit.
The airy, open but shaded, terrace restaurant overlooked the horseshoe shaped bay and we had one of the best meals of our holiday. The portions were huge, beautifully presented and really good value.A meal for 4 adults, with 6 drinks, came to 120 TL (approx £40 ). The service was quick and friendly.Tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as they were vacant, ready for the next customer, but you were not rushed through your meal, the pace was relaxed and welcoming.
Although popular, the Beach club never felt crowded. There was no pounding music, that only broke the tranquility when the party boats came in to the bay, including the very boat we had 'escaped' from! They were kept out of the main part of the beach club by floating ropes. We were so pleased to be sitting on the beach looking out at the boat than the other way round!
