“Used to be great”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

Been there in August 2013 and it was a beautiful area to walk around or to sit on a bench and admire the sea view. I got back in February and you couldn't even go for a walk since they've been renovating the whole area. Works are in progress along the whole coast line and you can't even sit down to have a drink or a coffee without being smothered with dust or mud if it had rained the night before or during the day. Wanted to sit down for a drink but didn't dare to. Hope all the works get done soon so that the place can get back to its normal self.

“Terrible location - only some exceptions”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

It is one of the most popular streets of Izmir. Full of little restaurants and cafes. The guys in the shops and cafes are almost forcing you to sit their place. Service is too slow and in most cases they serve the wrong foods. It is not a pricy area but you still think that it was not worth after all. The only good place I've tried was Balikci Hasan (fisher Hasan). Fish was so tasty but they did the typical trick of Turkish restaurants : they doubled the bill buy adding some extras I did not eat/drink. Do not forget to check bill in details before you pay.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

You can walk, you can run by the sea. If you like, you can have your breakfast in one of those many places across the street. Or night time, you can enjoy the city lights and have a nice dinner. After a long day, this place is like a little heavenly break. I think this place is what makes Izmir different, special from other cities. And the 'barouche' experience is very nice. The only problem would be the parking space - so either park your car somewhere else or walk/take a cab to come here.

“The place to be at sunset for a walk or dinner”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

This is the heart of Izmir at sunset and night. Unlimited view of the gulf, the mountains, the island and the traffic of ships and ferries. Beautiful sunsets. There are dozen open air restaurants, cafes, bars usually all busy every day. Some of the fish restaurants are excellent. Walking distance from most hotels, the airport bus stop and the metro. I felt very safe walking at nights

“You will love the Kordon”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

The Kordon in Izmir is a great place to hang out and its never really too crowded. It has beautiful sunsets and is right on the Aeagean Sea. They have an outdoor concert venue on the Kordon and several restaurants line the street. You are only a 2 minute walk away from Alsancak and a ton of bars to hang out at. Wonderful place to kick back and have a nice walk under the moonlight or sit and have a conversation with friends.
