We knew this would be good from prior TripAdvisor reviews. The one review that caught our eye was the review that said sometimes five stars is not enough. Now we know what that traveler meant!

The room, a so called king suite, is magnificent. Modern in every way and set up spa style. Beautiful and comfortable bed, interesting lighting, a sitting area, a designer table and chair, a safe, a coffee maker, hair dryer, and a minibar. The bath facilities are exceptional and are in the spa style with robes. The room was ably serviced by Fatima and Sunduk. The room also included a couple of very nice books for the taking about Sella, an excavation/restoration project about 6 km away. The rooms are not numbered, rather they are named, each with a semi palindromic name. Like our room was named Asi (rebel). Backwards it is Isa (Jesus). How interesting is that.

A beautiful courtyard beckons all day where you can take coffee, chai, or other drinks and snacks.

The hotel is perfectly located, directly adjacent to the Mevlana museum and near everything of importance in Konya. It is also a 15 minute walk to the Mevlana performance venue where the whirling dervishes perform the Sema ceremony every Saturday night.

Many nearby restaurants and souvenir shops.

The breakfast experience is unforgettable. It is ably served by Sheyma with assistance from Sunduk who hails from Kyrgystan. Upon being seated you are offered whatever coffee or tea you wish. Then an individual tray that is elegantly populated with small square and rectangular dishes with servings of everything you can imagine: cucumber slices, small tomatoes, two kinds of cheese, a cherry jam, tahini sauce, a piece of a honeycomb, a small jacketed potato, bread sticks, etc. It is really elegant. Also you are offered eggs prepared in any of four different ways, the one we liked the best was with Turkish sausage (sujuk). Breads, juice, cereals, etc. are available at a community table. Quite a memorable experience served with elegance and grace,

This review would not be complete without highlighting Yelmaz, the day manager. He was exceptionally helpful at arrival and throughout. He could arrange anything we asked for. He also is very knowledgeable about the Mevlana experience and all things Konya. He was a very important element of our extremely pleasant experience at Hich.

And we fully agree that 5 stars just doesn't do it justice!

Room Tip: Try to get a room that faces the courtyard.

10 seconds away from Rumi mausoleum, this boutique hotel hosted by a renovated 200-old historic building can be a destination in itself. Rooms are full of light, clean and spacious, they have everything one needs - even that sound gadget for ipads and iphones, a laptop support for bed, coffee-making machine, windows wide enough so you can sit on and of course there is a special pillow for this.

During the first stay we had a room with no door for toilet/shower and it was a little bit weird, but in the second stay it was not the case. Also we were there during Ramadan and at 2 am a guy with a drum used to wake us up making a lot of noise on the streets, but this is probably valid for the entire city.

Lovely hotel, great service and close to eveything that you would want to see in Konya. The rooms overlooking the Mevlana Museum are light, beautiful, clean, the bathroom was an adequate size, and the breakfast was exceptional.

Room Tip: Pay a little more to get a room overlooking the Mevlana Museum. Some of my family stayed on the ground floor at the back where the rooms were dark and noisy.
