“Interesting architecture”
Reviewed 8 January 2013

The Alaeddin Mosque on top of the hill was built by the Seljuks and reflects the architecture of the period. The views of the city from the hilltop are not that impressive.

“Historical part”
Reviewed 10 December 2012

a kind of timulus, this hill unfortunately was under construction. But you should visit there anyway to see the mosque on top of it. Also you'll have chance to see Konya's landscape from this place.

“Worth the visit”
Reviewed 28 September 2012

Full of families on weekends and the old Mosque is well worth the visit. A park on top of a hill. Easily reached by Tram, bus, and dolmus

“This is what life should be.”
Reviewed 26 August 2012

I visited the mosque and then sat in the beautiful tea house spread out on Aleaddin Hill where I enjoyed seeing families with their children taking in a summer's night. The beauty of the grounds with fruit trees, fountains, kilim covered Turkish style arm chairs and sofas were all part of a magnificent design that made the night magical for me. Freshly squeezed orange juice, Turkish tea, Nargilah, kind people talking and laughing made me realize the beauty of life.

“Restful Surrounds”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

The mosque is set on a beautiful wooded volcanic hill reputedly used since prehistoric times.. Written descriptions of the town date to the Hittite periods 4000 years earlier.
The mosque was commenced in 1150 and completed in 1220. The exterior is rather stark but the interior has old marble columns (41) with recycled Roman and Byzantine capital above. Tombs in the courtyard date from the twelfth century and contain remains of Konya's notable citizens. The area was once part of a former palace.
We enjoyed our short time at the park as it was a relief to relax away from the crowds at nearby attractions.
