We found this hotel perfectly acceptable for a two night stay in May. We had a suite which gave us additional space - but you don't come to Konya to sit in a hotel room. The position is ideal for visiting the Mevlana Sufi complex and the various mosques and museums around Alaeddin Tepesi. Also in easy walking distance is the Mevlana Culture Centre which puts on a free sema ceremony each Saturday at 9pm (get there by 8:30pm for a seat as, despite being a large venue, it gets seriously overcrowded which (for us) detracted from the religious nature of the event). The Rumi's top floor restaurant has excellent views towards the Sufi complex and Selimiye Mosque, and a useful terrace area. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of Turkish and international food and was more than adequate. We had no problems with noise and found the area safe and interesting.

Room Tip: Choose a suite on the front corner of the hotel.

We stayed one night 21-22 April because the hotel is a short walk to the Mevlana Museum and the local market. The rooms are small and dark, beds and pillows hard. Breakfast has a limited selection, but the rooftop restaurant has a great view of the mosque and Museum. OK for an overnight stop but we would not return, nor recommend.

The Rumi Hotel is well-run and everything works. That is what most travelers spending a night in Konya want. It is a 3 minute walk from the famous Mevlana Museum. I know I can relax when I get to the Rumi.

Room Tip: Rooms on the right of each hall get sun in the morning, on left get sun in the afternoon. Probably...

I love the smell of dirty ashtrays, the whole hotel does. If you do, i recommend you stay here.
Close to the Mevlani museum, i would not stay in this area, as it is not so nice.
Slept with the window open in order to breath but it was a very noisy position.
Could not wait to escape this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't stay.

Wife and stayed here for a night on the way to Antalya from Goreme so that we could visit the Mellana Museum. The hotel was near the museum but it was also near a roundabout. The room had seen its better days and the decor was very dated and needs a good refurb. The room was dark with dark brown wall paper and the smell of smoke was very evident. The bar near the reception area wasn't opened for business anymore and looked very run down. The bathroom was ok'ish but could do with some modern improvements. Air condition wasn't operating when we were there end of April and we had to remove the quilt and slept with just the cover as it was too warm otherwise. We didn't want to open the window as it was noisy outside. breakfast at to top floor/terrace was ok'ish but not great.

We have noticed that they didn't shut the door at the lobby entrance and there were many flies inside the hotel. Even with the closeness to Mevlana considered, I won't recommend this hotel.

like all the other reviews - yes - it is a perfect location - but - yes - smoke in some rooms but it was not so bad in ours. One or two others in the group had a smoke issue but for one night it was OK. Location was perfect, wi-fi was great, breakfast was fine, bed was perfect and had a great sleep, shower was hot - and all in all - I would stay here again for one night. It is OK for a stop over. Konya is not a pretty town but the museum is great and it is a good stop on the way to Antalya.

The hotel is located just across the street from the Mevlani Museum so it is fantastic for walking to the top site in town. But our room smelled of smoke, and after checking out three rooms we decided they all did. We chose this place to take advantage of the spa but it was not functional. Pretty disappointed.
