We booked Yonca lodge off the back off all the positive tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. My fiancée and I were after an affordable, relaxing beach holiday not at a resort, which is pretty hard to come by but this Yonca is perfect.

The rooms are spacious and homely and stay cool enough without aircon (although there is a unit in the room). The gardens full of fruit trees, hens and ducks are lovely to have on your doorstep and the beech area is incredible. The highlight for us will always be sitting in the dining area at sunset with a glass of nice wine waiting for our dinner.

There are some comments about noise from nearby resorts on other tripadvisor reviews, we found this pretty intermittent and barely audible from the beech due to the sound of the waves.

The food at yonca is lovely, all fresh and locally sourced, we found the small set menu in the evening ample and enjoyed the surprise of what it might be every evening.

Every single member if staff was welcoming and hard working especially Daniella who goes the extra mile for all of her guests.

We would recommend this to any individual or couple who needs a relaxing and recharging holiday, we can't wait to go back :)

Room Tip: Our room (101) was great, as you spend so little On my way! In the room I opulent worry about being...

We decided to give Yonca lodge a go and we weren't disappointed. The place is located about 20 Km outside of Fethiye and is easy reached by the local bus which is cheap and they run until late at night. Said that, it was still too far for me as I like to be in the middle of, restaurants, bars, shops etc.
The lodge is very nice & clean with large grounds where chickens wander around. The breakfast was also very nice but mainly for vegetarians which was fine by us - very fresh food. We can't comment on drinks & dinner as we didn't eat here for that.
We had one of the top room in the lodge with sloping ceilings - not good for taller people as I kept banging me head constantly.
Now to the noise from the large hotel next door which I think is catered to Russians - it seems they have parties every night for their guests. I'm half deaf so it wasn't a problem for me but my partner could here it.
I have read a few reviews here regarding the staff - we both found them very nice especially Daniella who went out of her way to make sure we had a nice stay.
If you like a place that is a bit different I'll definitely stay at Yonca Lodge and we would stay here again if it was closer to Fethiye.
Great place - thank you.

I can't add much that hasn't been said before. This is a gem. The rooms are unfussy and functional rather than opulent, but they are perfectly comfortable, spacious and spotless. The environment is gorgeous. It is great to have grass areas as well as sand, and the chickens scratching around are endlessly fascinating, with their own distinct characters. Breakfast and dinner with tables by the sea is just as special as it sounds, the food is authentic, fresh and delicious - and the staff are charming. We spent three nights here at the beginning of a two-week holiday, and would have liked to have spent more.

Don't tell everyone only special people I want to go back and there has to be availability!

We just spent five nights at Yonca Lodge. We got curious by the great reviews on Tripadvisor and found a real gem for families with little kids (although the guests were very mixed, old couples, some families with kids, British, Turkish, Austrians, Japanese, Germans which was great).
There are three houses in which approx 12 rooms are located. We had a family room which was nice and spacious, everything made out of wood (although the rooms looking out over the swimming pool looked amazing as they had a big veranda with a big bed to hang out on in front of them). We received a baby cot at no extra charge and had a minibar in the room. the only thing that struck us weirdly was a sign in the room forbidding you to drink or eat anything that was not bought at Yonca Lodge. Whereas I can appreciate that at the fair room prices the entire concept depends on you consuming there as well (fair enough), especially with a little baby it is not feasible to buy everything from a restaurant. you need to have milk and snacks on hand. That being said it would be greatly appreciated if the dinner times would not only start at 7.30 at night but rather an hour earlier to accomdoate the needs of families with little kids. But hey this is seriously all I can complain about.
The staff were super friendly at all times. And especially if you have kids - they will love it. It sounds weird, but it absolutely great to have the free roaming chicken and ducks, they just got a baby kitten, there is a calm dog and in a big natural pond you would find up to 15 turtles and numerous tiny water snakes in the morning taking a sun bath. the frogs added to the atmosphere in the evening and we must say we were not bothered by the evening entertainment next door. there was some, but it stopped at some stage and even with open windows we were not worried.
there was a cow next door at a neighbours stable and we could watch it from our balcony, which our little one LOVED. the fruit trees, the vegetable patch, just so enjoyable. I tried Mulberries for the first time in my life. Yummy. If you want to, they arrange collecting of eggs by the kids in the chicken stable or a visit to the gardens. Our son was too small but if you have larger kids, they would probably enjoy this.
Fethiye is 20 min away, there is a dolmus service just outside the hotel (200 metres) and also a little store if you forgot to buy some of the basic amenities (geared towards tourists only, but at very reasonable prices). We would recommend having a rental car to be able to do some trips (Fethye, Tuesday or Sunday Market, Pinara, Sakklikent Gorge, Kayakoy). Driving is easy and straight forward. Although most people did not bother taking a rental car (we loved it though) and simply took the bus which has the advantage of being very cheap and there regular dolmuses driving packand forth..

on the beach there are a lot of pebbles approx. 5 metres before the water line, so it is definitely not the beach experience where you frolick in the sand, but in front of the gardens they have got rid off most of the pebbles on a wide stretch, so you actually get to build sand castles or stick your feet in sand. there are lots of sun beds and little sun bed huts which we loved as they had comfy cushions and you could watch the water and beach. beach towels and sand toys for little kids are provided too.
Alcohol is rather pricey (wine bottles started at 35 Lira, g&t 18 lira, cocktails almost 30 lira, raki double 15 lira). so this can add up quite quickly. on the other hand you have a breathtaking view, a wonderful atmosphere, and guests as well as staff were very friendly. They simply put tables in the sand (highchairs are available and the babyphone works from the room to the restaurant - if you can convince your kids to sleep that is ;)). it is so relaxing, romantic and beautiful watching the sun go down (bring moscito repellent though). It was truely wonderful. and it has the added benefit that your kid can play in the sand - no issue. At night there was a (or several) giant turtle coming to the shore popping her head out about 1-2 metres from the beach (the stretch of beach is a natural sanctuary where these turtles lay their eggs) which was a cool benefit.
breakfast is a lovely turkish spread (no bacon, beans or sausages if this is what you are after) with some fruit, veg, eggs, turkish pastries, olives, cheeses, cereal, juice, coffee, tea and homemade jams. I am not quite sure what people are complaining about. When we turned up at 8.30 am the breakfast was there - everything was set up, no issue at all. In the afternoon there is a tea hour from 4-5pm where you get tea, cookies and some savoury treat (changing every day) which is included also.
There is an adult and a baby pool and at the time of year (Mid June) we were there the water was warm enough in both pools to frolick around. At night the pools are nicely lit which adds to the atmosphere of the place.

Overall a really really wonderful experience we can only warmly recommend to anyone old or young.

Room Tip: family rooms consist of two rooms plus a bathroom, TV, minibar, waterkettle and tea/coffee amenities...

Yonca (yon-ja) Lodge is a beautiful place to stay and spend your honeymoon. Quiet, calm, scenic and beautiful. We had a great time there and would recommend it to anyone who wants to go there for honeymoon. Daniella was extremely kind and helpful!

Room Tip: standard rooms are better and have more space. Attics are good too but they are relatively smaller.

Yonca Lodge is a place I would highly recommend to anyone anytime. It's a treat to have breakfast right beside the sea, to enjoy the environment-friendly set-up with chickens running freely and lemons dripping from the trees, to eat jams that are home-made from organic products grown by Yonca Lodge itself and drink fresh cow's milk. The sunset is awesome to watch, and at night when the moon is out it casts its mesmerising light on the waves.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The room rates are reasonable. The cleaning service is first-rate. The decor of the rooms is simple but cosy. There is greenery all around, with lots of fruit trees. And much serenity and tranquility. On the whole, it is the atmosphere of the entire place that makes it such a lovely resort.

A couple of downside points -- 1) There are too many mosquitoes around and that mars the enjoyment of sitting on the beach at night, as well as prevents guests from opening their room windows except for those protected by mosquito netting. 2) Yonca Lodge is located about 15 kilometres from Fethiye, which makes it rather inconvenient to go to town. However, if your intention is to stay on the resort away from the outside world, you can't find a better place for relaxing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that directly faces the sea.
