This is our first time in Calis and at the hotel Tugay we arrived at 3 in the morning to a warm and friendly welcome from 'Murat' (always smiling and nothing to much trouble a real gem of a man) He quickly took our cases to our rooms. The rooms were beautiful and clean our room was situated at the back of the hotel i have to say the room was small with enough room to walk around the beds but after all we dont spend all our holiday in our rooms do we. Because the room was at the back of the hotel it didnt get the sun on it all day and therefore was quite cool and also quiet. There was a double balcony which you would share with the adjoining room which is excellent for families and also if you were travelling with friends. The bedding was so clean and white!!! and the towels were also clean, white!!!! and fluffy!!! the maid came and cleaned the room everyday and at 8 months pregnant she did a fantastic job, she was always pleasant and polite a truly beautiful woman. My brother and his wife who were travelling with there son (who is registerd deaf) had two rooms that were far apart from each other and he was in a room next door but one to us. through a converstaion with Ilkay he told us that he had rooms for three people (adults) and asked if they would like to see it, on inspection it was a lovely big room with a single bed that folded down out of a built in unit (ful size single bed and very very comfortable) Ilkay could not have been more helfull. The fault lay with Jewel in the crown who said the hotel did not cater for 3 adults in a room of which they clearly did. We were also asked if we would like the adjoining room and on inspection said yes, we shared a double balcony which was brilliant often sitting with a beer or a vodka and coke just chilling. The rooms were situated overlooking the pool area which was brilliant. Breakfasts were the usuall turkish breakfasts with cereal, toast, jams, meat, eggs, tomatoes and cucumber and also cake!! there was plenty and was served between 8 and 10. Layla and the shef (who's name i have forgotten of which i apologise) kept a well stocked breakfast. They were always pleasant and polite and could not do enough for you, you could also ask for an omlette or a fried egg if you wished. In the day you could get something to eat from an ample menu. The only fault i have is that there was no real bar area to sit and chill out of a night time but on speaking to Ilkay and his wife this is an area they want to improve on in the future. The pool area was large and spacious with plenty of sunbeds (not once did i see people putting towels on beds to save them) with a grassed area with bean bags if u wanted to chill out of the midday sun. There was a park outside the hotel for young children and there was also a beautiful little restaurant aswell, we ate there on several occasions and the Pide are a must. The beach was close by a mear 5-10 minutes walk. Sunbeds and umberella's could be purchased for about 15 lira a day but there were also areas that u could use that were free you just had to purchase drinks and food from their restaurants and you could be well fed and waterd for a mere 25 lira a day for 2 people, excellent value. The SAT club which is at the far end of the beach is very plush and a little bit more expensive but well worth the visit. The walk along the beach front is beautiful there are some excellent restaurants (i would recomend SIMS bar, beautiful food and excellent staff with chilled out music a real delight to sit and chat and watch the sunsets) Calis overall was a beautiful and relaxing place to be with just enough to keep you entertained. You can easily get a water taxi to Fethiye for 5 lira each and a Dolmus to Hisaranu, and Olu deniz. We hired a people carrier for the day at a reasonble price of £55 and drove into Hisaranou to catch up with friends at the Cypriot hotel and to visit Olu deniz and an excellent day was had by all. We would like to thank Ilkay and his staff for a most enjoyable holiday, it was a bit scary trying a new place having holidayed in Hisaranou for 8 years but we couldnt have asked for a nicer place, with beautiful people who couldnt do enough for us. We have raved over this holiday since we have come home and we really cant wait to go back and for the first time ever in our lives we did not want to come home and therefore we are seriousley considering doing 3 weeks next year. Try out the Tugay it wa so much more that a 2* hotel. Thank you once again Ilkay for making our holiday a memorable one and we hope to see you all again next year. Lots of love the Goodwin family xxxxxx

Room Tip: Rooms at rear of hotel quiet and cooler, excellent family rooms available.

Although I haven't stayed at the Tugay Hotel, I use their pool on a regular basis. I have always been made welcome and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely, clean and well maintained. There are lots of sun beds and huge umbrellas if you want shade. The gardens are nice too. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the food is very good. From speaking to the people around the pool who have stayed at the Tugay, it would seem that it's a great place to stay and it's only a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Overall I would certainly recommend the Tugay Hotel.

You have to remember that this is a 2 star hotel. The staff were so good. The location is fine for getting around. The road is never busy.Beding and towels changed every other day. Food limited and bar the same . Not allowed to bring food back but crisps and fruit not on complex..

Room Tip: Rooms are basic but very clean . Towels ans beding changed every other day. The walls are very thin . Tv a waste of time.

Just to endorse the majority of other guests lovely hotel nothing too much trouble, Ilkay went out of his way to help us organise trips , there was 10 ( 6 children from 12 to 19 years and they loved it ) of us and at £8 a night it was a bargain. The rooms are basic but clean but the hotel is made so much more special by the friendly staff and owner. The previous comment who said it was noisy mus be barking we live in the middle of the country so am well placed to assure you this is a very peaceful location, yes the road to the beach is wide and has some fast traffic but nothing to worry about. Calis beach is a really nice place to eat without exception we found all the food good and very reasonable priced. Lovely relaxing holiday .

I have never felt the need to write a review before for a holiday but I had to share our experience of this fantastic hotel. We arrived in Calis our first ever trip to Turkey very apprehensive of what we would find as we usually visit the Greek Islands. We arrived in the early hours of the morning to a warm friendly greeting and were shown to our rooms(202 & 201) which were great as we were a family in two rooms the shared balcony was brilliant and had a lovely view of the pool area.Breakfast was traditional Turkish breakfast as you would expect being in turkey and very fresh with friendly service. Ilkay the owner and his family are superb and Ilkay went out of his way on many occasions to help us with trips, directions and the day Holidays 4 You went bust while we were out on a day trip he even rang to let us know he had confirmed our flights home were safe!! We have been lucky to have been on holidays before but this has been the best holiday we have had the Hotel , the staff and resort is second to none. There has been negative comments on previous reviews but we feel to complain about "Turkish" television and food when you are in Turkey is worse than ridiculous. We have already booked to come back next year and would recommend this Hotel to any of our friends and family with no hesitation, Thank you Ilkay and family for a fabulous time we look forward to seeing you again and miss you like mad!!!!!
