stall holders friendly but they love a good haggle, really good to get an idea of the Turkish culture and grab a few bargains

We have been to many markets in Turkey but this was the biggest by far. Stalls selling everything you can imagine. Such a big market we had to stop a couple of times for refreshments. It was lovely to sit and watch and soak up the atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Don't visit the Fish Market without shopping at this spice emporium. Tariq and his sisters have been mixing fragrances and spices for the local restaurants for years as have the generations before them.
He gave us great advice and great service and we came home with a little bit of Turkey to share with family and friends. A brilliant shopping experience!

We visited Fethiye Turkey in June and had couple of visits to the Fethiye Markets, you can literally find and buy anything and be ready to haggle. The fakes are very common and if you know how to judge quality and haggling, you can pick some great bargains. IN addition to fruits, vegetables, spices, bags, jewelry there's a whole section for lovely food, the pancakes are very tasty and must have if you're a little peckish.

The markets are very easy to find and excellent transportation links within Fethiye and nearby towns.

Sellers are shouting things like 'buy my fake [--]!' - so they know it's rubbish as well as we do!

A lot of it was overpriced, try out your haggling? My fella got a couple of £3 t shirts (one fake Converse, the other a Jack Daniels tee) as well as some fake Vans shoes for a fiver. I didn't buy anything which was a shame but it was all just clothing/bags/belts etc. Would have liked to have seen more traditional homewares there etc but no such look. Interesting to pass the time for an hour or two but don't expect too much from it!
