“great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2009

Just come back from a 2 week holiday in turkey. Stayed at the oykun hotel. After looking at reviews about the hotel we found everyone seemed to like it so we decided to pick this one.

The hotel was fantastic. The room was lovely and clean and so was the rest of the hotel. All the staff were fab.

Breakfast in hotels ive stayed in before havent been great but the breakfast at the oykun was lovely. Omletes every other day, pancakes on sundays and a selection of great food. The two pools were clean and there was always enough sunbeds as long as you get up before ten. Had lunch at the hotel a few times and again food was nice and great value for money. Overall this hotel was fantastic and i think it is more like a 4 star hotel not a 3 star hotel which it is classed as. I would recommend doing the turkish bath at the hotel, its very relaxing. The hotel is close to the beach and theres plently of places to eat near the hotel.

While in turkey i went on the thomson chill out cruise. Had a great day in the sun and jumping of the boat. The boat was nice as well and not too crowded. Another excursion i went on was the jeep safari. This was fantastic. we booked through a tour company called karacay which is situated on the next road to the hotel. The day included stopping at the ruined city of tlos, the trout farm, saklikent gorge, the mud baths and garden beach. It really is a great day out where you can experience travelling by a 4x4 while having a water fight with the other jeeps. Be prepared to get very wet. This was great value for money as well. Went to calis market as well which was good.

There are many great places to eat in calis beach. I would recommend Sat Beach resturant as my favourite. Its along the seafront, turn left at the bridge and go right to the end. There is a fantasic view and the sunsets there are amazing. The food was excellent and i ate there quite a few nights as it was that good. Two more i would recommend would be the palms and nil bar resturant. These two both were great to eat and are situated to the right of the beach after the bridge.

Overall the holiday and hotel were great. It was very hot up to 56 degrees but at the oykun you get a breeze which is lovely to cool you down. If you wanted to go to turkey book the oykun hotel as im sure you will have a great time. There isnt a bad thing i could find to say about this hotel everyone is friendly and theres so much to do in the area.

Oykun is amazing for a 3 star hotel, spotlessly clean, good choice of breakfast, professional and friendly staff especially Goldie on reception. The attention to detail with the service and breakfast is brilliant Oykuns dad is there inspecting all the food and service are to the high standard you get. Oykun now runs the hotel and is very good and pleasant. The rooms are great, large enough with loads of hangers in the wardrobe, the maid will issue a top sheet if you ask her to which is great. We had a brilliant room overlooking the kiddies pool with an extra large balcony Was great at the end of a night to sit and have a night cap. Our second time there and we will be back in Sept.2010, normally we never go back anywhere twice but we have found our little gem.
The turkish bath is amazing best i have had in Turkey.
Jerrys boat is great, if you want to learn how to fish or extend your fishing knowledge. Complete with swimming, bqq, snorkelling bays etc
Meal places Salmus at Bambos brilliant excellent food, Indian on main road superb,Itallian Case de Mamas great, food at the Oykun equally as good as the restaurants, sunsets amazing to watch as you eat
Fish market at Fethyie - fresh fish cooked at one of the surrounding restaurants
We love the Oykun and Calis having been to many many places in Turkey We will be Back Keith and Karen

This is a family run hotel who, along with their staff, are there to make sure you enjoy your holiday. You will always be greeted with a smile, no matter the time of day. The hotel rooms and comfortable and like the pool and outside areas are kept spotless. There's plenty of choice for breakfast and lunch and although we didn't eat in the hotel in the evening it seemed popular.

Calis isn't very big but there's lots of good restaurants - you will be spoiled for choice - and the prices are excellent compared to other areas of the Med. Calsi is a good centre for visiting the surrounding area. Just hop onto a Dolmus - the local mininbus - and you can go anywhere for very little and in Calis you can travel to and from Fethyie on the water taxis for around £1.50 each. Fethyie is worth a visit but unless you like 50 degree heat go to the market in Calis on a Sunday rather than bake in Fethyie on a Wednesday.

The beach was the only disappointment - very stony and dived steeply when entering the water. We found a place called the Garden Beach Club where they had laid sand and provided free sunbeds, etc. The Club would pick you up for free from the resort and take you to their beach and return you home in the late afternoon. The only condition was that you bought your drinks and food there but this is not a problem as it was exactly the same price as the resort. Like all other businesses in the resort, they were after your custom. The beach at the club was good, there were load of sunbeds, also free, and parasols and there was always a nice breeze off the sea. It's certainly worth a try.

The Oynkun has got to be the best hotel in Calis. the place is spotless, the staff are fantastic and the maid service was out of this world.. Breakfast was just amazing lots of different kind of foods.. We didn't mingel much but we only had a week and we wanted to see the sights and we did. We went to Fetihye which is lovely very turkish and very hot with a hugh market on a tuesday and a stunning harbour but no beach. You can take a water taxi here for 4 lira or get the dolmus for 1 and half lira, we did both. get the bus there and the water taxi back it leaves from fetihye harbour every 30 mins. hisoronu is like a little vegas and is renowned for its pubs clubs and restaurants and 5 mins further you'll reach Olu Deniz which has a lovely beach and is very hot! so beware... Calis is ideal place to explore and transport links are very good to Fethiye and from there you can get to everywhere within 30 mins on a dolmus and they are so cheap its unreal.. market day at Calis is on a sunday and its not as big as Fetihye's but still a good market. If i was to return to Calis i would be staying at the Oynkun without a shadow of a doubt.. Thanks for the hospitality Oynkun... Regards Jo & Lou @ Mansfield Notts

this hotel complex is 5 minutes from the famous calis beach but is in a quiet part of town. it is ideally situated for peaceful relaxation for couples and the staff are a joy. nothing is too much at any time of the day or night.
the rooms are tastefully furnished with any combination of bedding required.
the poolsides are scrupulously cleaned daily and the pools are also a joy.
there is nothing bad you could say about this property or the staff and i would recommend this hotel for anyone seeking long, luxurious days just relaxing and recharging it really is first class.

Decided to go away with my boyfriend and booked last minute so there wasnt much available but we decided on Turkey as it was cheap, however we didnt know what to expect because people have always said Turkey is dirty and not a nice place for a holiday. They were wrong!

We arrived late but the next day we went out in the evening and had an amazing night at the bar B52 - if you go here and your young, GO TO THIS BAR. The barmen and the man who owns is are absolutely lovely and great to hang out with - every night they have either breakdancers, latin dancers, foam party, fire eating etc.. we went every single night and stayed up til 6am with everyone that worked there and a few friends we made there. So much fun, miss it so much, best bar ever.

The hotel is a 3 star and I havent stayed in many 3 stars before but I was expecting something not that great but the hotel was like a 4 star. It was clean, not that big but a nice size, peaceful, lovely helpful and friendly staff, lovely food, nice rooms and nice pool area. We stayed in the new block which was really nice, the rooms were basic but not too small with quite a lot of room. The only problem was a lot of the things in the room broke easily, we managed to break the towel rack the first night and the lock on the balcony door the second night and almost broke the shelf in the bathroom. It sounds like a bad room from me saying that but honestly it wasnt! The pool area was peaceful but get a sunbed earlier in the day if its busy because when we woke up late there were hardly any left. We had half board but ate out twice, the food in the hotel was good - breakfast was basic but dinner was lovely, it was turkish food not english food - exactly what i wanted! The bar by the pool sells food and drink all day and night at a reasonable price. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in this area in turkey, there were older people and children but I'm 18 in two weeks and this was ideal. If you book this hotel dont book it though a rep - we booked through thomson and it was rather cheap but the people we met there booked it though the hotel and it was so much cheaper.

The area was nice with plently of trips to take - we took the fishing trip with friends we made there which was great. They serve you a massive turkish lunch - salads and a bbq which was delicious and you stop of at various beautiful places to go swimming and fish - some places had clear beautiful water and were great to swim in. Calis beach is dirty and I didnt like it but we heard Olu Deniz has amazing beaches which is 10mins away, we didnt go but the trip on the boat did it for us.

basically.. go here on holiday!

Just back from 14 nights at Hotel Oykun room 2306 , this is a remarkable small family owned / run hotel, so clean, so nice, 2 very good pools, very good food ,very nice rooms, most of the staff have been there a long time eg goldie memhet ronaldo freddie and the maids to name just a few , and we met many repeat clients who return year after year,
in our opinion Hotel Oykun is a little gem.
