The hotel Bahar is located in a lovely part of Calis (practically on the beach)
The rooms are very well maintained modern & clean (carpets instead of tiled floors)
We arrived around midnight after an horrendous coach journey from the airport (scary stuff)
We were greeted personally by the Olympic rep with a hot drink and sandwich and shown our room. The food wasn't great ,very limited choice and luke warm (plenty of salad available) due to the price we paid for the break I didn't have high expectations anyhow. The hotels staff are very nice although a couple of members of the owners family were rather surly and displeased if you asked for extra towels or bothered them in any way. I would return to calis but possibly in another hotel. The hotel isn't really suitable for children as very limited facilities available.

Room Tip: remember no lift available in this hotel

What a bargain!! We stayed for a week in May 2014, the hotel rooms are well decorated and very clean, the food is delicious, a good chance to try some traditional turkish quisine. The staff are all very polite and helpful. Calis Beach itself is much quieter than other places we have been in Turkey so good for a relaxing holiday.

A great hotel near a beach and is super quiet peiceful area, with a friendly helpful staff. People constantly complained about the lack of choice of food, but seriously ignore those silly people as me and my partner enjoyed all food and drink served at the hotel and stayed in every night for there food. Only thing that ruiend the food was the ungrateful people moaning about the food.
Only complaint is that the cleaners threw a large pack of mints in the bin when cleaning our room and some medical shoe souls in our friends room. So when at the hotel just put stuff you don't want thrown away, out of the way of the cleaners eager hands.
All in all, a great hotel and if visiting fethiye again we would deffo stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Don't book room 206, 306, 207, 307 as there not very good veiws. We were room 104 looking at the...

Just back from a weeks stay at this hotel, first impression ....... after travelling for nearly 5 hours we were not able to get any type of drink, we were told to go to the lighthouse bar (family owned) and payable if we wanted a drink.
Our experience was exactly the same has the review by (sunseekerswhenwecan) only difference hotel was fully booked, the food was very limited for an all inclusive ie one choice take it or leave it . My husband and I have been to many all inclusive hotels all around the world and this one by far has to be the worst for hospitality. The family owners & friends always seemed to have plentiful plates but the paying guests had to stand and wait every meal time for dishes to be replenished which the staff where very reluctant to do, the impression we got was that this hotel shouldn't be classed has an all inclusive in fact we have had more choice on a half board basis.
Drinks where limited to Raki, vodka , beer, or wine & few soft drinks, also there was coffee machine which had variable options ie: cappuccino, chocolate, latte etc however none of them where available to use COFFEE ONLY????
We ended up eating OUT every day for our at least one of our meals have to say this has been the only all inclusive holiday we haven't put weight on so thank you Bahar :-)
On the good side the rooms where very modern and clean albeit compact and bijou ....pool area was clean nice pool bit packed most days had to be up early to get sun bed. Even though we got this holiday at a bargain price we feel it still
wasn't even worth what we paid. On the last day of our holidays check out was at 12.00 noon airport pick ups where not till 7.30pm
only a few guests where offered the choice to keep rooms on at an extra cost of 10.00 per person which we thought was shocking, the first day of our hols we didn't even get a drink and the last day guests where not allowed anything from the bar after 12 unless you had paid to keep room on ..so really we only received 5 full days all inclusive (hence price) !!!!!!!!
however the only saving grace on this holiday is we met some really nice people whom we shared many a laugh with about our experiences at THE BAR HUMBUG :-) happy holidays

This was our first trip to Turkey and we were not disappointed.
Booked Bahar after the brilliant price we were quoted and after checking the reviews on here and I must say it lived up to all expectations.

Photos in Olympic Brochure are massively out dated and do not do the place justice.
We stayed in room 203 and although a twin rather than the double we booked.....after pushing the beds together (by far not the first place we have done this in!!!).....the cleaners started putting a double sheet on the bed after a couple of days.

Reception staff are fab and nothing was too much trouble, from recommending places to eat (despite the hotel being all inclusive) to advising of excursions and places to visit.

The bar is open from 11-11 and the selection is small but sufficient. Vodka, Raki, Gin, Rum, local draft beer and wine are all available alongside soft drinks.

Food is served on a buffet basis and although the selection is small.....there is always loads of it and it is freshly cooked and topped up constantly.
We ate well at all meals and the reviews complaining about food clearly need to either book and PAY for 5 stars or be less particular.
Fresh fruit and salad available at all meals and a different fresh homemade soup is on every evening,

The hotel ring a cute little bell to advise guest of meal time (a little like being back at school) and guests tend to mob the buffet immediately.
ALL drinks are served in plastic beakers - although returning guest brought their own glasses and the hotel were happy to use these.
We ate at Sams bar and grill one evening (out of the hotel past the lighthouse cocktail bar and turn right). Got a 3 course meal and a couple of beers for under 30tl (£10).
The Olympic Rep will give it the normal spiel about not booking excursions through anyone else - take with a pinch of salt - you will save a fortune if you go out onto Calis Beach front. Book through Speedy - left out the hotel.
Go for the Turkish bath - your tan will be loads better and its an amazingly relaxing way to start your holiday.
Fetyihe market is massive - but the stalls at Calis market sell the same things - the stalls repeat over and over eventually with very little difference in price. Saffron is very cheap in Turkey - so very worthwhile buying and bringing home. This market is well within walking distance or hop on a dolmus for a couple of lira.
A lot of the shops down in Calis are actually the same price if not cheaper than some of the stalls in the market - and regardless of what you are told - you are able to haggle in shops unless the price is clearly marked. Some shop keepers are more reluctant than others - but they also reward your loyalty.

We are booking again for next year - something we said we would never do - as we heard a rumour that they are breaking away from Olympic and going B&B after 2014.

Brill holiday - thanks Bahar
x

returned today and have to agree with most of the comments of the reviews re the staff, the hotel location and the cleanliness BUT we were one of only three couples staying at the hotel for the whole week and considering we purchased the holiday on recommendations from previous reviews were dismayed to find that not only were we reduced to the some of the worst meals we have ever encountered in any hotel with NO choices offered at all, inconsistantant offerings of mid afternoon loosley termed cake which at times was only a few plain biscuits, meal times reduced to 1 hour instead of 2 the concept of all inclusive was clearly the worst interpurtation by the managers and family who persistantly emptied all food plates before we as guests were offered them! It was a shame to spoil what has been a lovely week in Calis Beach which we would return to and stay at Bahar on another week where the other reviewers had a much better experience it feels like we have stayed at a different hotel!!

Room Tip: book a ground floor room and at least you can have two chairs on the balcony
