Just back from our holiday in Calis, probably the the best all inclusive break I have ever had.

The hotel is small, only 30-something rooms, but there is plenty of space for everyone round the pool and in the restaurant, so no fighting for sun loungers or tables. As it is exclusive to Olympic holidays it also means everyone there is British.

The staff were fantastic, they couldn't have done any more, and were always happy to help or chat.
Food was also AMAZING - being a small hotel there wasn't tons of choice, so if you're a picky eater maybe it's not for you. But everything was cooked freshly, a few hot dishes for every meal, and plenty of fresh salads. Not to mention the best bit - daily afternoon tea! Cakes and biscuits served in the middle of every afternoon.

Location you also couldn't fault - right by the beach at Calis, a lovely stroll up and down the beach front, plenty of bars and restaurants if you want a night out, or half an hour by water taxi into the town of Fethiye.

The rooms were not huge but more than adequate - we were there to spend time in the sun, not in the room! The room was cleaned daily, every room has a balcony, and air conditioning which was well needed.

Next time we are looking for an all inclusive break I'd definitely go back.

Room Tip: Book your late check-out early. A lot of the UK flights don't depart until late but they're...

When booking in to the hotel you are greeted by members of this small but more than adequate hotel. One thing to be aware of is the fact that there is no lift however the staff are more than happy to assist in helping you with your bags. The rooms are clean and should you require more bedding, pillows, towels ect then the staff again are more than ready to help.

There is no evening entertainment at the hotel but there is a fantastic cocktail bar which is also a part of the family group owned by the hotel called Lighthouse Lounge & Bar. If you are staying at the hotel then you will get a discount on all drinks at the bar. It stays open well into the morning hours and I can say by personal experience that you will have a great time.

The hotel is situated right on the sea front but is not affected by any noise created by the nigh time economy. You are spoilt with many bars and restaurants to choose from and the town is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel or you can braze a Dalmouch which is a minibus which arrives every 10-15 minutes and is very cheep to get you to Fethiye.

We tried a number of attractions while there which included the 4x4 trip (be prepared to get very wet), the gorge visit (outstanding), the Turkish Night (make sure you go with a well known company) all of which was good value for money.

In all, I would say that this holiday was excellent value for money, the hotel accepts children but I would say that the hotel is more for the mature traveller. The food is basic but of excellent quality and plenty of it. The staff is very helpful and assists in any way they can.

My partner and I will certainly be returning, well done The Bahar Hotel and Lighthouse Lounge & Bar

Room Tip: If you have problems walking upstairs then it is best to request a ground floor room prior to attend...

Had an amazing holiday here with my husband, the hotel is a great place to stay, the rooms were excellent, very clean and spacious, we had a pool view on the lower floor. The beach is just a minute walk away. The resort itself offers a good choice of restaurants and bars with friendly no hassle staff. I would recommend The Bahar hotel, and will defiantly return.

We were a party of 3 couples (young at heart 50 somethings) we stayed here in mid june 2014.
The regulars that read this next comment, will love me for saying this.

If you've still got any life left in you, or you have teenage or young children DO NOT go to this hotel, just leave it for the regulars to enjoy. You have been warned.

The hotel is in a fantastic location right on the beach (beach, 15 tl for 2 beds and parasol) which is nice because you can get a drinks (All inclusive) from the hotel when you need to, and take them on to the beach. It has a nice sized swimming pool, and there are always plenty of sun loungers and parasols available poolside.

The rooms at the hotel are simple and of an ok standard.

If i had made the mistake of taking my two teenage daughters to this hotel, one of them would have done just ok with the food, the other would have really struggled with it.
It's not ok to say that because the price of this hotel is a bit on the cheap side of things, that it's acceptable to be constantly spending money unnecessarily on eating out, when you've already paid for your meals. We all have different circumstances in life, and some people might be on tighter budgets than others, just something to consider.

That said the food is always nice and fresh and "mostly" edible (sorry but I can't do unfilleted fish with the heads still on) but sadly for those of us that still have our taste buds intact, there isn't much taste to any of it, bland on bland. That could all be changed with some simple Turkish seasoning, which seems to be available in abundance at the local markets.

The local alcohol is totally acceptable, and the larger tasted great IMO.

I gave the hotel a poor mark for service, but this in no way is a reflection on the staff, just the management.

A massive thank you to Ian and Eileen, the absolute stars of the eating area (you can't call it a restaurant) and a very special mention to the wonderful Medi, she runs the bar, and works her blooming socks off.

As someone else has already mentioned, a porter to help people that need help with luggage would be great.

My wife was on her menstrual cycle when we arrived at the hotel, and one night had a small accident on one of the sheets, she did her very best to save her blushes by scrubbing it with some travel wash before leaving it on the floor outside the bathroom, sadly it happened a second time a few nights later when she was sure she had finished, but this time it was a hardly noticeable tiny smear, but nevertheless in true wifey fashion she scrubbed the sheet again causing another inspection of her sheet, thus bringing more attention to her already embarrassing predicament.

Unfortunately for my wife, the hotel management showed no sympathy, respect or tact whatsoever towards my wife's situation. But instead they disgustingly issued her with a demanding letter (that they left on her bed) stating that she would have to pay £20 immediately for a replacement sheet (absolutely barbaric treatment of a fellow human being) only further heightening her anxiety and embarrassment, and ultimately leaving her in tears.

The hotel management seems to be happy resting on it's laurels, because they have the security of the blinkered repeat clientele, which is sad because with a few tweaks this could be a great hotel for everyone to enjoy.

DEAR GUEST

First of all we like’d to thank you for visit our hotel.Critisim about food that you made might be right own your view..As you guess you can’t pleased everybody, especially at this topic.Even so we’ve got very good feedbacks abaout the food.Night check-in for we’ve got one person in the reception for luggages. But he can not be enough for 15 rooms because all of them check-in is at the same time.Unfortunately we can not reach all of them.As the comments that you made about your wife;Of course like this little accidents happens a lot.But if they apoligize after that issue happen we sorting out that problem between us .However unfortunately your wife was keep doing same thing and pretend that nothing happened!!I If something happens second time there is no accident!!there is a indifference.I think you should considered that too. Also chaos that you created around the pool is cause of many complaints by the other guests.Even so we’ve try to corparate with your rep about all complaints that we recieved and try to solv e this issue but many people said that your group were listening very loud music at the public area like your home. Therefore as a management we were have to take control of the situation.
As we Bahar Team we are apoligize to you that we could’nt make you happy!!!But I thing you should a apoligize from us and all bahar guests for the trouble as well.I wish there was any web page exist like this so that we could of explain what we’e been through as a hotel..

This is our second visit to the Bahar Calis Beach, we went for the first time last year in September and have just returned from two weeks, and we found everything just as nice as our last visit.

The staff are all very helpful and everything was very clean, as I have mobility problems stayed on the ground floor and this year had room 103, the beds where made every day and towels changed, the only day we did not have the room cleaned was change over day, which was fine with us, as do you have clean towels and sheets everyday at home?

The rooms are a little short on draw space, only one, but there is a shelf in the wardrobe, but a nice large chair which my husband found very useful to put things on. Chair is not needed really as chairs on the balcony and we do not wish to watch television while on holiday rather be in the sun.

We found the food very good and only eat out 4 times in the 14 days, and only 1 of those was due to what was on the menu, which was fish with its head on and not filleted. But even then there was loads of lovely salad. Always hot choices for breakfast, a nice selections at lunchtime.

As someone mentioned the family eat, sometimes at the same time as the guests, I thought this was good as they where eating the same food, so must be ok.

The drinks where really good ok local brands, wine on tap help yourself and that was an improvement on last year. Diet pepsi, as well as tea, coffee, orange and water on tap all day.

I think the main thing to think of when reading the reviews on the Bahar is the price you pay for the holiday, this is marked as a 3 star hotel, we have stayed at 4+ hotels, which have not been as good and they have only been bed and breakfast. The price is so 3There are some lovely places to visit and food and drink is very reasonable, as the pound is strong at the moment, we where getting 3.57 tl to the pound.

The water taxi over to Fethiye from Calis Beach is on 5tl each way. Calis is not so busy har as some of the Turkish destinations, but it is flat so walking, friendly not pushy, even the restaurants do not mind you looking at the menu.
the Lighthouse out the front which give you a discount if you are staying in the Bahar.

We will be returning next year to this happy, friendly hotel and hope to meet up with some of the same people as this year. Some people expect so much and can be very rude and inconsiderate of other people who are also on holiday, this is not the Hotels fault. who tried there best.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms if mobility problems, but expect to get a bit of noise from people coming in late...

Like many people who go to the Bahar I am a repeat customer. I have always found it to be a excellent hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Some people have mentioned that the food isn't up to much, well it's all cooked fresh and something for everyone, and if you don't like it then there are plenty of restaurants that you can eat in very very cheaply ( the price of the holiday is so cheap you can afford to do this ) This year they even had help yourself red and white wine from the tap, so what on earth do people want !! Excellent value for money, I must also mention Ian who excels in customer service. We come to this friendly hotel to relax and enjoy the hot Turkish sun ( which we did ) this is not our main holiday so not a skin flint, have been all over the world and try to come back to the Bahar at least once a year. Well done again Bahar, and hope to be back soon !
