When on Holiday we don't spend all our time in our room nor with a magnifying glass in a hotel so many of the negative comments did not apply to us. We found the room size to be adequate and very clean with enough storage space for our 2 week holiday. The breakfast terrace is lovely first thing in the morning. The service is not 'stand to attention' and they don't faun all over you, it is pleasant, helpful and relaxed. The marina and pool are this hotels strength and make up for minor negatives. Every room has a marina view which is lovely at anytime of day. The position is good with a short walk into Fethiye, lots of parking as well. It is a great place to chill out. Not suitable for children, nothing for them Calis would be better. Would go again.

Room Tip: Choose a suite if you want an all angle view.

Again we have been enchanted by this hotel. The setting, the food, the service, the comfort all combined to give us another excellent holiday. So much so , we have booked again for May next year. Cannot enlarge on this review other than to say try it. You will not regret it.

We have just returned from a week at the Ece Saray Marina & Resort and really must disagree with the previous two reviews. Both the location and hotel were excellent, the staff were really attentive and friendly, the food was excellent and the drink wasn’t overpriced by hotel standards. The beautiful façade is in need of some TLC but this is a management issue rather than something that will spoil your holiday, the other complaints are just nit picking!
The best upgrade is to half board – the food and harbour side dining area are far better than you would expect for the extra cost. A harbour view is also worth having and the suite was nice but not really essential.
We did have some trouble booking. Initially we booked with Low Cost Holidays.com, if you try this route then do remember to take a screen print of your quoted price before booking because our confirmation was did not include many of the extras that we had booked. You are then expected to phone a premium rate phone line to complain, but they don’t respond. I successfully claimed a refund from my credit card company – but only because I had the screen print of their quote. Whether this is a scam or just poor customer service I couldn’t tell. I then rebooked with Thomas Cooke, booking airfare, transfer and airport parking separately for the same overall price. We hope to return but next time I’ll book direct with the hotel by phoning from Skype - Turkey 0 252 61250 05 – they speak perfect English and the time change is only two hours ahead.
Do remember that you need foreign currency for your Turkish Visa when you arrive, only £10 or 15 euros, but a hassle if you haven’t bought any foreign currency!
Don’t be put off, it really is worth the effort, the resort exceeded all of our expectations and is very competitively priced.

Room Tip: Suite 215 was perfect!

Don't let our critical review put you off going because we had a great holiday and the hotel is in a superb location, overlooking the marina and only a five minute stroll into Fethiye itself. However, don't get excited over 5 star luxury because you will be disappointed. This hotel is trading on its name and reputation from the past.

We had room 216 which is one of the corner suites and probably one of the best rooms in the hotel. Being on the corner, it had three windows, each with double doors and a Juliet balcony which was nice although like other people, we were frightened to stand on them because of the poor state of repair and the crumbling facade. To be fair, workmen were repairing the rear of the property but this seems strange at the start of the season when they have had all winter to do it. There are no rooms at the rear and it would have been better to have concentrated on guest accommodation and the prominent front facade of the property that guests see on their approach to the hotel.

The repairs look to be years overdue and there are very large cracks both inside and outside the hotel running vertically down the walls. We wondered if this was due to the series of earthquakes in the town in 2012 but other guests said they had been there for years.

We felt that maintenance of the property in general was extremely poor. Little had been done in the gardens (we were itching to pull up weeds from paths, decking and borders all of the time). The area outside the front entrance is boarded like decking (but not raised). The wood is all faded and many of the planks are split or loose. They are dangerous because they are easy to trip over, especially for elderly people who form the majority of this hotel's guests.

Some of of the maintenance jobs such as screwing down or replacing the boards would take minutes rather than hours and there are accidents waiting to happen.

There seem to be plenty of staff around to do jobs but no management giving any direction. indeed, in 10 days, we did not observe any visible management at all, anywhere in the hotel.

The only evidence that we had of management was when we arrived and there was no air conditioning. We arrived in the middle of the afternoon on a hot day and our room was stifling. We asked why the air conditioning wasn't working and we were told that the manager said it was too early in the season to put it on. This was only rectified when we made a complaint to our tour representative. We weren't the only people making this complaint.

In terms of services and facilities, there were very few and they were poor. The reception bar and the pool bar never opened at all. The pool bar has got into such a state of disrepair that it looks as though it is due for removal. It is completely derelict. Anyone that wanted a drink just went to the the local supermarket and brought their own. In the 10 days that we were there we only saw a waiter around the pool on one day and they were having to go back to the restaurant to collect their orders.

The pool itself was lovely and there were plenty of sunbeds, towels and parasols for all of the guests with no race to reserve places. However, it was very much self service as the pool attendant was only around for 5 minutes in the morning to deliver the plastic bag of clean towels. We never saw the pool being cleaned (no sand as there is no beach and also no children around) although it always looked clear, However, the tiled flooring around the pool was only given a cursory clean once during our stay and that was in the middle of the day, a stupid time to start mopping surfaces and making them slippery. I say cursory because a friend spilt some beer and the floor remained sticky for the 10 days that we were there.

There was nowhere to sit and have a coffee or drink after dinner so the only alternative was to walk into town to visit local bars and restaurants. There was a bar on the marina frontage that was meant to open daily from 4pm but the hours were so unreliable and the prices so high that we felt sorry for the waiter all on his own as there were no customers.

I have to mention the food ... oh dear! Breakfast was served on the roof top which has beautiful views. this is great if you are able bodied but if you have difficulties with mobility, the lift stops at the third floor and the restaurant is on the fourth. As I said earlier, many guests are rather elderly so this can be an issue. Breakfast was ok in general but it depended who took your order as some of the staff had very little command of English. I was given 4 fried eggs on my first day! Orders were often wrong and the coffee service was hit and miss.

Dinner was our main disappointment. In fact, we ate out on a number of occasions. Nothing seemed to be what was described on the menu and one day we ordered lamb, were served beef and the staff insisted that we were wrong. This became a regular problem, in fact the guests made a joke about what we were actually getting. Desserts were poor with little variety from to night.

In summary, this hotel is charging 5 star prices with less than 3 star service and facilities.

Room Tip: Go for a suite if you can afford it, preferably a corner one but set your expectations before you go...

We stay here for two nights, as our villa was let & we thought it would be good to sneak a couple more days in the sun.
I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago on a viewing trip & since then the lovely Marina has been developed to a world class development, while the hotel has been neglected badly. With the right investment & management, this hotel could be very special & I would gladly pay a lot more to stay here. Alas, the investment is zero & the management conspicuous by their absence.
This hotel is not 5 star in anyway, even for Turkish standard. I have list a few points below -
The rooms are small & have no storage space.
The bathrooms are smaller!
The toiletries are more 'Chubby Brown' than 'Moulton Brown', they stink! Sorry Chubby!
Not enough towels at the pool.
No drink or food service at the pool.
'Faulty Towers' breakfast service with more crashing crockery than a Greek restaurant.
The wifi is free but the slowest I have ever seen.
The TV has no available channels to watch.
The air con doesn't work.
Feather pillows are available to guests, if you phone to chase three times & end up going to reception.
The place is generally not maintained, with weeds, cracks in walls etc.

Now after all that you'd think I wouldn't return. Fethiye really does need a top hotel, but in the meantime, if I have to stay in Fethiye, I'm afraid this is probably the best option. Not glowing praise I concede!!

Room Tip: Don't accept 309, the breakfast terrace is directly above & therefore it sounds like a '...

We stayed here during April 2013 for 7 Nights on suite 316 which was recommended by another reviewer. The suite was very spacious, clean and with 3 balconies. The views are stunning and the entire surrounding is so beautiful.

There is a rooftop restaurant where they served breakfast and dinner. The food was very good while the service was very efficient.

The fitness center is the only drawback with very tired equipment and an intrusive staff.

Overall a very nice hotel. As there are no five star chain hotels in Fethiye, this is probably the best option. I would definitely go back and stay there just for the views.

Room Tip: The suites are very spacious and recommended. suite 316 was outstanding..loved the views

We stayed at the Ece Saray marina resort for a week and had a very enjoyable stay.
The hotel is very nice and clean inside, we had a suite and this was excellent. The outside of the hotel was in need so some refurbishment and this was taking place during our stay, and though it was noisy during the day it didn't spoil things for us.

The level of service from the staff was very high, especially in the restaurant. I believe one of the waiters was called Gohkan and he was excellent, well done to all!! Breakfast was good, with lots of choice if you like bread, fruits but a little limited regarding cooked offering but still good.

Dinner was generally good but the menu choice, as there were too few people for a buffet, was limited too.

We also used the Hammam and I had a massage and enjoyed it but it's not for the faint hearted as you do get pulled around a bit! :)

The hotel is also not far from the town centre, 10 minutes walk, and also we enjoyed a stroll in the other direction past the working boatyard and this quite interesting.

All in all a very good stay, the weather was great except 1 day of rain, the marina is very nice and I would recommend it to anyone.
