Ece Saray Marina & Resort
Ranked #21 of 102 Hotels in Fethiye
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 28 August 2014

My wife and daughter became seasick on the first day of a gulat cruise out of Fethiye so we had to scramble to find a room. This place was highly rated in the Rough Guide so I called and luckily were able to get a suite. It was a very spacious two rooms allowing a private bedroom for our 16 year old daughter. After having a terrific dinner the first night we purchased the half board (breakfast/dinner) option for a very reasonable price.

We have stayed at many luxury properties in Hawaii, across Europe and in the USA. I would compare this moderately sized hotel favourably with most of them. The pool is stunning. It is huge and located on an elevated deck overlooking the marina and harbour. The harbour water is clean and one has the option of jumping off the dock if the pool becomes boring. There are a variety of interesting sunbathing options too...hammocks, cabanas and comfortable lounge chairs. There is a friendly and efficient food and beverage service available all day. There appeared to be many guests who never left the pool area!

The food was fabulous. Breakfast was on a terrace on the roof with a spectacular harbour view. Unlike many Turkish hotels it included hot dishes cooked to order as well as the usual buffet items. The dinners though were amazing. The restaurant was outdoors with tables on the edge of the water. One could feed the large fish bits of bread creating feeding frenzies. Each night was themed....seafood, Asian and Turkish the nights we were there with huge selections of desserts and salads and excellent soups each night. This was all for 15 Euros per person! Another little bonus was having 2 parrots in the lobby....much fun to play with.

Our room was 150 Euros a night for the aforementioned large suite. I've paid three times that much and had less for my money. Fethiye is a pleasant city to walk though down the marina from the hotel it becomes a lot busier and tackier. The ferry to Rhodes is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and that might be a nice day trip the next time we return....because we certainly will.

Beautiful setting, small non-fussy hotel with comfortable, cosy furnishings, compact and friendly staff, excellent food, and wonderful setting for both breakfast on the roof terrace and evening meal on the board-walk over looking the Marina. Swimming Pool and areas dedicated for sun-bathing and relaxing in the quiet surroundings of the Marina were fantastic, we just did not want to return home!

We sailed into Fethiye and the temperature had been in the high 40's, so we arrived one day prior to our reservation. We left the boat at the marina and walked 20 feet to the hotel. The young man at reception was able to offer us a room without a view, for the first night, but the room and bathroom were large and extremely comfortable.
The hotel is elegant and the air conditioning was wonderful. Their pool is large and beautiful up on the roof of a building in the hotel complex, with many sun lounges. The next night our room was overlooking the marina and beautifully landscaped grounds but it was a bit smaller.
Breakfast is on the top floor of the hotel overlooking the marina, excellent selection of hot and cold choices. Stunning view overlooking the harbour in the early morning light smaller but had beautiful views. There are bars around the pool and the marina. The Ece Saray have friendly staff, at the pool, at breakfast and at reception. There are ducks wandering on the lawn and captivating parrots in reception.
Our friends were in the two room suite and that was very generous in size and appointments.

Room Tip: Room 318 was large and spacious and a bit cheaper but it looks onto the parking lot. Room 207 had st...

My husband, daughter and I stayed here on a half-board basis for 10 nights. It was probably one of the most relaxing holidays for us, partly due to having holidayed in the area a few times before and feeling unpressurised to go on trips which we had already experienced but mainly due to the lovely hotel and situation on the marina and just a few minutes walk to Fethiye town. The swimming pool area was too nice to leave for the first couple of days and how nice to have towels provided and even placed on your chosen spot! Very nice touch and no problem with a rush for a sunbed with shade as always spare beds even if you arrived after lunch! The staff were very friendly indeed and we felt most welcome. I had booked a suite as there were 3 of us and it was very spacious with 2 balconies to the front overlooking the marina and another overlooking the pool - it was very comfortable and had a Jacuzzi bath! The food was very good - I wouldn't normally go half-board as we enjoy eating out but the price seemed good at the time of booking and we thought it was very pleasant to eat and then wander into Fethiye later in the evening. The meals were delicious and the salad choice in the evening was exceptional. The breakfast choice incredible as well. Sometimes, we just stayed at the hotel and enjoyed a drink at the bar as the marina view is so nice.

An earlier reviewer had commented on how cruel it was to have a caged parrot - it had actually been rescued from elsewhere in a poor state of health. It was good to see another parrot (which was able to wander outside the cage) of the same breed to keep each other company, which they certainly did - their chat was most entertaining and they did not display any behaviour which would suggest cruelty or distress.

The hotel exceeded our expectations - we have never returned to the same place but if we want another holiday for relaxation we would return without hesitation.

Room Tip: Swimming pool end - suite 3rd floor (room 316) lovely - 3 balconies (no noise from breakfast as brea...

We visited the Ece Saray for the third time with a group of friends. Previously we have visited as a couple - the hotel is very romantic! We already are planning to return to the Ece Saray!
We absolutely love everything about the hotel - the location, excellent service, meals and value for money.
Location;
The hotel is situated on the marina. The views from every room are stunning. We have always been allocated a room on the middle floor and have been very happy. The rooms have been recently decorated. Their style is a bit dated but very clean and comfortable and in keeping with the hotel ambiance.
The pool area is also lovely. There are always sufficient sunbeds - no race to bag a bed at the crack of dawn - and the parasols are very good quality. I have never dozed the day away on such comfortable beds - strategically placed pillows!
It is a short walk and pleasant to the old town in Fethiya - we walked there every evening after dinner for an atmospheric drink.
Excellent service;
Every single member of staff was very attentive. The level of service at reception, at breakfast, lunch and evening meals, around the pool and at the marina bar was always such that we felt very special! As we were arriving late evening, after the end of dinner service, I emailed ahead and a sandwich was provided in our room along with a large bowl of fruit.
Meals;
Breakfast is served on the rooftop of the hotel. The views are beautiful and the food freshly cooked to order. The evening meals are taken on the edge of the marina; an idyllic setting. Some evening meals are taken from an a set menu, and these were really good. However, the buffet Turkish meal was a real disappointment and was the only low point of our whole stay. Lunches are also served on the marina and are also delicious.
Value for money;
We paid slightly more than £90 per couple per night for half board accommodation in high season. This is excellent value for money. I don't know where else anyone could get such luxury at that price. The meals are so good (and set in such amazing surroundings) that it is definitely worthwhile paying a little more to upgrade to half board.

Room Tip: All rooms have a good view of the marina, but the views on the higher floors are probably better. On...

The Ece Saray Marina and Hotel is THE hotel to stay at in Fethiye.

The location is very picturesque and with the mountains in the backdrop and the marina view from most rooms.

The hotel inside was as expected - very clean and tidy and traditional. We had a Marina-facing view which made it for us.. I believe there are some rooms that overlook the carpark towards the back of the hotel and this would have made our outlook entirely different!

Our rate included breakfast which was HUGE! The buffet carts were full to the brim with breads, cheeses, fruit and there was a full hot breakfast available too. My Dad complained that the coffee was a bit rubbish but as a non-coffee drinker i didn't have a problem!

The drinks (mainly G&T) at the hotel were UK prices but that was to be expected when staying in one of the better hotels of the town! The food was somewhat disappointing but being a short walk into the main town we sampled the local delicacy's.

The swimming pool area was very relaxing and quiet, we were there before school holidays so no children in sight. The barmen were very attentive and quick to lay down towels etc.

I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it as one of the best i have stayed at.

Room Tip: Definitely try and go for a room with a view of the marina

Following a recommendation by a friend, we booked this hotel through Hotels4u. (Flights booked through Monarch from Luton). We booked out transfers to the hotel through the hotel website because we have heard the taxis are a bit crazy (£80 return for a slightly more luxurious cab. Well worth it. He even stopped to get us a complimentary bottle of water each. Nice touch). We had to book a suite because we were taking our 14 year old son. The room was fabulous (the biggest bed I've ever slept in, luxurious towels and robes, free safe), the views were amazing, (overlooking the beautiful port and yachts), the pool was equipped with plenty of sunbeds (deep cushions, protector sheet and lovely towels), the food was lovely (every day was different, some days buffet, some days waiter served, lovely salad bar and tables set out along the harbour edge), the breakfast terrace on the roof over looking the harbour, was a joy to sit on every morning (lovely fresh fruit, fresh bread and a chef who makes the best crepes and omelettes), but it was the atmosphere in the place that made it so relaxing. Most of the staff are fabulous and it made the visitors to the place, in turn, happy to be there. Cost of beers 10tl about £2.70. Bottle of wine 60tl about £17. Lunch menu about 20tl for a pizza or hot chicken sandwich (with beers and coke plus 3 dishes it was about 90tl-£27). We didn't do too much in way of trips, but we did do a four island boat trip, again on several recommendation, we chose a boat called The Grand Burac (65tl-£19pp inc lunch). You won't be disappointed. Walk along the harbour front to find it and pre book for the day you want. They ask you for a deposit, so pay the minimum, just in case your plans change. Hard to get a refund I should imagine. At the same place where you find this boat, next door is the ferry dolmas which will take to over to calis. 5tl-£1.50. Ok for a day trip if you want a swim in the sea, very pebbly beach. Very reasonable for sunbeds and lunch. Another great tip, but we were not long enough to do this, was another couple of other holiday makers found the local travel agent Hamish McTurk (on the road next to the hotel). They cherry picked the excursions they want to go on and asked him to sort out a driver. They managed to do it all in a day, avoiding the crowds and all for about £100 including lunch. They said it was brilliant, but take some sturdy shoes to assist in the terrain. I hope, if you choose this hotel, that you come back as happy and relaxed as we all have. I might even see you there, because we are definitely going again. Ps another great tip. Take an extension lead with you. Not only can you plug in more devices, but it will let you dry your hair in front of any mirror that's always located too far from the plug!)

Room Tip: Try to get the third floor. Great view of harbour and not too far to walk to the breakfast terrace.
